But he's one step ahead of Inverdale because he sells his coat instead of being lumbered with it Grin

PrivateIsles · 04/06/2019 19:19

Yeah, I bet Inverdale didn't think of that did he?! Grin

What picture? I've blocked it from my mind Grin

Afternoon!

It's raining in Paris.

JaneJeffer · 05/06/2019 13:07

Wonder if Delpo will be at Simona's match?

PrivateIsles · 05/06/2019 13:46

Jane I'm living for it Grin

Shame il pleut though!

Does it look as if there’s going to be any tennis? The matches were due to start quite late today anyway.

Do we think there’s something going on between Delpo and Halep? I tried googling it but everything was in french so I didn’t really understand it!

Raahh · 05/06/2019 14:26

I thought Halep had a boyfriend- but google is confusing- because there are some articles that suggest she was secretly married to the player Horia Tocau.

And that now she is with footballer Radu Barbu.

(I'd love her to be with Delpo though Grin)

It's still raining. I'm cross. I didn't want to watch Konta the first time around.

PrivateIsles · 05/06/2019 14:35

I know! And now they're rubbing our noses in it by making us watch Fed's victory again as well! Hmm

I think the "evidence" for Haleptro as I've seen them described Grin is fairly thin, but they'd make a lovely couple imo (knowing them both so well as I do!).

Doesn't look like there's going to be much play today does it? Sad

Private John the Weatherman said earlier his reliable app suggests it could rain until 5 in the morning.

I want John to stick to his day job. Even though he is rubbish at that too. Grin

Hope that John the weatherman’s forecasting is as rubbish as his commentating! That would really miss the schedule up.

PrivateIsles · 05/06/2019 15:32

I heard there could be 90 mins play between downpours starting about now... but obviously no sign of anything yet...

Meantime I see Andy Murray has made a little video about his return to Queen's, am pleased for him!

PrivateIsles · 05/06/2019 15:34

Sorry, fake news - now it's saying no play today Sad

Raahh · 05/06/2019 15:46

They will have to start play a lot earlier than 2pm then, tomorrow, to fit everyone in.

One silver lining to Rafa playing Fed though- they can't possibly not put that on Chatrier. Or show it the tv! (Not because it's Rafa, obviously Hmm)

I'm getting irritated by this conversation Petch is having with Fabrice during the Stef/Stan match. Clearly Fabrice doesn't care who Fed's favourite players are, or really understand the frankly stupid question!

PrivateIsles · 05/06/2019 15:57

Grin sounds annoying! I was watching on Eurosport. Pat Cash had decided to go to the gym, and Annabel was going shopping - wise woman.

I think play starts at 12 Paris time tomorrow.

Yes Rafa v Fed is clearly the main popcorn match, no matter who gets through to the other semi. But as they're playing all the semis, men's and women's, on Friday, someone is going to get shunted on to Court Susie. But I doubt it will be Roger.

OP posts:
Raahh · 05/06/2019 16:13

Court Susie Grin

Well, I suppose you have to consider Rafa is a semi final- so that trumps a q/f, so by that logic it will be Rafa and Konta on Chatrier, for starters.

At least, that's how I see it Grin.

I get the feeling Thiem and Karen Hemsworth might find themselves in amongst the flowers on the new court.

Raahh · 05/06/2019 16:23

Eh?
John appears to be saying Konta is playing Friday- does that mean Rafa is too?

Noooooo!

PrivateIsles · 05/06/2019 16:45

It looks like it. They've moved today's schedule to tomorrow, and will play all the semis on Fri. By the looks of things Hmm

OP posts:
Raahh · 05/06/2019 16:47

Well, that's just rubbish.

I'm very disappointed .

PrivateIsles · 05/06/2019 17:17

They are now talking about possibly moving the men's final to Monday! What kind of weather are they expecting?!?!

OP posts:
Raahh · 05/06/2019 17:22

Monday! Oh no no .
The afternoon school run would happen just as it was getting good, with my luck.

I thought john the weatherman said the weather was going to pickup tomorrow?

Rubbish John.

Raahh · 05/06/2019 17:28

BBC weather has rain in Paris all day Friday. And Monday, for that matter.

I'm not sure why they can't try and play some ore matches tomorrow. In the early rounds they were packing 4/5 matches on the showcourts.

Or maybe suck up the fact not all the matches can be played on Phil or Susie. Not if they want to finish on time.

PrivateIsles · 05/06/2019 18:35

I know Raahh! It's be just like that Becker-Edberg Wimbledon final all over again!!

Yes I think the sensible option is for them to use all three main courts and get it done so the finals can be Saturday and Sunday as scheduled. That's my advice Guy if you're listening!! Grin

I hate it when try split up the QFs over two days anyway. They should just do it like Wimbledon does.

I'd finished my GCSEs so was fortunately able towatch the Edberg march, Private.
When Goran played his match on a Monday,I was working ( but didn't work mondays- and had booked the previous week off work to watch the tennisGrin).
