I am having a summer that Edberg first won Wimbledon nostalgia fest- via music, because I'm watching a Top of the Pops show about 1988, and it's all about the summer of '88 at the moment.

I remember Aztec Camera being a big hit , just after he had won when I saw him play in Didsbury. .

And Desireless- Voyage Voyage.
Sadly they are also showing one of my favourite bands- All about Eve- when the sound went off.

That was embarrassing. .

ooh, I'm watching Eurosport, and it does look like Djok walks off before the announcement of the end of play is made. And Thiem looks like thinks it's a brief break, and just wants a bit food.

Looking back at the beginning of the match- I don't think Djok ever wanted to be there. He was pulling a face before he struck the first ball. I think he wanted the match postponed before the match even started.

Pat Cash - who is usually a fierce advocate of fair play- seems to be defending Djok , which is odd- and said something about the roof. I think that's a red herring- the weather at RG has very rarely caused a problem. This year is a bit unusual. I hope they don't start to use the roof for the wrong reasons(i.e when certain players decide they want the- like AO last year and Wimbledon).

Anyway- glad to see it's still windy.

Jim was very cross last night.
He is now saying both players agreed- I'm still not convinced.

Of course, when/if Rafa wins tomorrow, everyone will say Thiem was disadvantaged due to playing over a number of days.

But theses players practice for several hours a day, so really , fitness and stamina should not be a factor. But it will be offered up as an excuse.

The conditions were difficult yesterday but they were the same for everyone - yes Raahh even roger played in them . To be fair to him he did say that the conditions were difficult but didn’t want to use it as an excuse for losing.
