The weather is the best it has been all bloody day!
Angry.

mama1980 · 07/06/2019 17:37

Very odd, even the presenters seem baffled.
No rain in Paris now, just cloud and occasional sun. Yes the forecast is dreadful but they could at least have played until the end the set according to the BBC there s been no rain for 20minutes already - easily enough time to finish the set.
This will definitely favour Novak, I expect him to come out fresh tomorrow in his preferred conditions and win grrrrr.

Fizzywinegum · 07/06/2019 17:40

Not fair at all - both players should have a say and I’m sure that Thiem would have wanted to continue at least to the end of the set.

mama1980 · 07/06/2019 17:40

If Novak and his camp is behind this which they seem be suggesting that is dreadful and disrespectful - more fool the organisers for pandering to him.
If Novak wants to know why he isn't loved by the fans in the same way....this is why.

PrivateIsles · 07/06/2019 17:40

That won’t have been Thiem’s decision
No, it doesn't look like it does it?

As you said mama they could easily have finished the third set today, which you'd have to say Thiem looked like winning.

Yes where's the angry mob of spectators then? Because if they've paid to watch one semi final, and they've only seen two sets of tennis, then presumably they won't be happy!

John is right that anyone else would have to default if they left the grounds before it was announced like that.

This is why nobody likes you Djok!

PrivateIsles · 07/06/2019 17:42

mama I agree

X post mama Grin

Raahh · 07/06/2019 17:51

Well, this is a tournament I usually love- and it is descending into farce.

It started off as the Federer show, pandering to the return of the Prodigal son, and has become a constant stream of scheduling fiascos.

Forget might be looking for another job.

Wonder how he would look in brown/UPS colours? Grin.

Raahh · 07/06/2019 17:56

Now- if they had played the Rafa match yesterday when they had time to do so, instead of wasting hours in between matches- they would have finished the Djok match today. Probably.

But no-one listens to me.

JaneJeffer · 07/06/2019 17:58

Forget would probably cause a massive backlog at UPS Grin

Raahh · 07/06/2019 18:01

Jane oh, you're not wrong.

Pile -ups. Grin

PrivateIsles · 07/06/2019 18:10

Apparently the match was officially called off before Novak left. So that's something. But I still think they could be playing now!

OP posts:
Raahh · 07/06/2019 18:14

They could definitely be playing now- and it doesn't mean that Djok isn't the reason that they aren't, because I'm pretty sure he /his team did a lot to sway the decision not to continue.

They have form. Grin.

PrivateIsles · 07/06/2019 18:17

In other news, Stan is out of Stuttgart with fatigue. He played a lot of long matches in Paris, didn't he? I guess there's only so much your average dad bod can take Grin

OP posts:
Raahh · 07/06/2019 18:23

Oh, poor Stan. Sad

Tuck yourself up in bed with a big Bear and a Brew

kazzaD66 · 07/06/2019 18:44

Raahh Grin and Donna?

Raahh · 07/06/2019 19:05

Yeah, maybe Donna Grin

Raahh · 07/06/2019 19:06

don't want to waste the dad bod

PrivateIsles · 07/06/2019 19:15

Still annoyed about the tennis being cancelled, especially as I'm home alone this eve and I have wine - was looking forward to that combination! Now what am I going to watch?!

Imagine if Thiem loses tomorrow. Do you think he'll go nuts? And even if he wins - he'll be more tired for the final as a result of all this, so it could still be putting him at a disadvantage.

It's really crazy.

kazzaD66 · 07/06/2019 19:29

I really don't like Djokovic.

Sorry, I've had a G&T and a couple of glasses of wine, but he's just so entitled!

(When I keyed in a G, predictive text automatically came up with 'G&T' ......why Confused) Grin

Raahh · 07/06/2019 19:31

If Thiem loses tomorrow, I will be in no doubt that it's because of the delay.

It really isn't doing much for Djok's PR. And Dom's girlfriend is FrenchWink.

John and Jim kept trying to say it might still be windy tomorrow- but the weather be be nothing like it was today. Djok's team will be well aware of that.

I hope Thiem comes out mad . Pretend each ball has a picture of Serena Grin.

Thiem will be at a disadvantage for Sunday if he wins although I am supporting Rafa for the tournament

Of course, the weather forecast for Sunday is not great either!

PrivateIsles · 07/06/2019 20:01

Good gag from Sascha's Yorkshire pal Grin

I like Sacha's mate Grin

Raahh · 07/06/2019 20:07

That's where Djok was going in such a hurry, obviously- Home to Tara!

(his daughter Grin).
