Oh god that wind looks awful! Ugh.

That's shocking! re Rusedski.

Oh, it's a bit windy. I'm worried about Rafa's match.

PrivateIsles · 07/06/2019 10:13

Grin Jane yes I hear you - and it's only her first service game! Grin

Didn’t realise you were such a big Greg fan Private - was it a Canadian flag you were trying to sneak in? Grin

Raahh · 07/06/2019 10:15

X post with the wind.

I remember those dresses. That's the kind of trim my mum would put on my clothes. She used to make all my stuff when I was little. I can't sew - can't thread a machine. I'm a disappointment Grin.

JaneJeffer · 07/06/2019 10:17

Fizzy Grin

PrivateIsles · 07/06/2019 10:18

Fizzy Grin it was a banner saying "GO GREG Tennis" Grin it was only a few bits of A4 paper stuck together, it wasn't even that massive. But one of those army guys (stewards) came and told us to put it away Angry

Yet Henmaniacs were allowed to wave massive Union Jacks no questions asked. So unfair!!

PrivateIsles · 07/06/2019 10:20

Raahh I try but I'm crap at sewing as well. I think my mum made my dress like that as well. I definitely didn't inherit her skills!

Oh, my mother covers 3 piece sofas and makes curtains. She can make anything. (she gets it all from my gran, it was her job). They also knit.

But we are all left handed. It;s impossible for lefties to teach each other knit, we discovered, as they both do it in a very peculiar way Grin.

My granny also used to make Stan-like massive teddies when I was little. I remember going to the markets with her for all the eyes and things. Her flat was quite a sinister place to stay, after dark. Lots of half made bears .Grin.

Raahh · 07/06/2019 10:26

I hate watching Konta serve.

Anisimova's dream could be coming to an end - Barty is racing ahead. Although Amanda has just broken Ash as she was serving for the set.

PrivateIsles · 07/06/2019 10:30

They are putting the serve clock on them in this wind?! Hmm hope the umpire isn't going to be sticking to the rules too much on that.

Love the bear story Raahh - half-made bears though!! Terrifying!

Private common sense has gone out of the window, clearly.

Raahh · 07/06/2019 10:35

Ooh, Anisimova is making a come back.

kazzaD66 · 07/06/2019 10:43

Private only just realised you nicked my "Seine-sational" line for the new thread title Shock
But I forgive you WinkGrin

kazzaD66 · 07/06/2019 10:45

Raahh those half made bears lying around sound spooky! I wonder if that's what it's like Chez Stan BearGrin

Raahh · 07/06/2019 10:46

Oh dear- Barty in trouble- gone from serving for the set, to being in
danger of losing it.

But it's gone to a tie break.

Raahh · 07/06/2019 10:47

kazza I think so- it's his plan for world domination. Stan's army of Bears.

PrivateIsles · 07/06/2019 11:14

kazza what can I say, I was under pressure! Grin

Konta doesn't have a telly. What is wrong with her?

PrivateIsles · 07/06/2019 11:21

Jane the mind boggles. Was it Konta who said she was going to play Scrabble on her day off? The interviewer was like "So, what are you going to do on your day off, Eiffel Tower, Louvre?" etc and she said she was going to play Scrabble! Fair enough I suppose Grin

JaneJeffer · 07/06/2019 11:23

I like a game of scrabble but if I was in Paris I think I would be out and about seeing all the sights!

Raahh · 07/06/2019 11:30

Scrabble?

Not just her serve that's a bit odd, then.

Maybe she thought it sounded cool.
No, it makes you sound a bit weird. You are in Paris! .

although, if you've seen it all before, and you think you might get mobbed by a bunch of mad super fans, outside the Louvre, maybe you are better off staying in playing Scrabble. Grin. She must get it all the time.

If she had a telly, she couls have watched her own match on a loop.

Like we didAngry.

Raahh · 07/06/2019 11:34

I had a Russian scrabble set once. Bought it from a bookshop on a school trip to London, to see Richard the Second.

But the Russian language is odd, and has some symbols that are used in a lot of words , but don't actually have a 'sound'.

And the box only had a few of those.

I donated it to my A level teacher . Grin.

PrivateIsles · 07/06/2019 11:34
