I didn't notice Denise's coffee spilling antics but I did laugh at Rainie in heels dressed in tight clothes with a toddler running off pushing a buggy. Talk about awkward.
Surely the guy in flat shoes could have caught her straight away if he had tried?
She left all her bags there as well.
That white suit won't stay white for long and she hasn't any money either.
Poor Abi.

JoxerGoesToStuttgart · 17/07/2019 09:25

I don't get how the money stealer cottoned on to Rainey's stash...was he merely and opportunist?

I think he could tell by all her shopping bags and clothes etc that she had money so rubbed the banana on his suit so she would have to go into the bathroom to wash it off and he had a look through her bags and found the cash.

The80sweregreat · 17/07/2019 09:57

The con man in the hotel was an opportunist that hit the jackpot early on. How she didn't realise I don't know as she is pretty street wise.

I still can't get over the hotel man just watching her run off !

JoxerGoesToStuttgart · 17/07/2019 10:05

I wouldn’t have chased her up the street either. It’s not money out of his pocket, he’s just the hotel manager, he doesn’t need to be jumping on women in the street and trying to manhandle them and their babies back to the hotel. They have her on CCTV, they just call the police and make a report, hand over the footage with full description then put a claim through the insurance company.

JoxerGoesToStuttgart · 17/07/2019 10:08

Also she’d pulled the fire alarm, so the whole hotel was evacuating. He had loads of people to corral to an assembly point.

The80sweregreat · 17/07/2019 10:26

Joxer, I guess so I didn't think of that one.
I just thought he would have tried to catch her up. I suppose he thought 'there are more ways to skin a rat ' (as they say ) we will get her eventually!
I wonder if she'll return to the square?

JoxerGoesToStuttgart · 17/07/2019 10:31

I’ve a feeling she’ll contact Stuart and he’ll somehow have a secret place she can hide out in.

(WRT hotel man- I’m just basing it on when I worked in the bank. We were robbed quite a lot and advice from above was always to give them whatever they asked for. It wasn’t our money, the bank was insured. We did have a lady in one branch who chased the robber up the street though Grin)

The80sweregreat · 17/07/2019 12:42

Yeah, on Thursday we will see Rainie in the allotment shed with Stuart helping her find some childcare and more suitable clothes with Abi playing with the peas and cabbages. He will set up another meeting with Max. I'm sure she'll come up smelling of roses , as per usual.
The police won't think to go there as they never do.

Blondeshavemorefun · 17/07/2019 13:25

What will Raine do next

Sure no hotel would take a just cash booking

OP posts:
The80sweregreat · 17/07/2019 14:45

An expensive hotel like that would want a credit card on account or ID.

She managed with neither of these things for a while. Plus she was sending out staff with cash to buy things : wouldn't they think it odd?

I know there's 'poetic licence ' but this is too far ! 😂

lazymum99 · 17/07/2019 15:00

Even when you have paid for your room upfront they often ask for a card to cover extras

The80sweregreat · 17/07/2019 15:14

Yes, hotels are good at cutting out the scammers these days !
So, what will happen to Jack too? Will he get off , or another prison situation?
Glad that Shirley is helping Phil out.
She could do with a storyline

iknowimcoming · 17/07/2019 15:23

What's with the sudden desperate need to claim their not really grandchild from Ian and Kathy too? It's bizarre!

The80sweregreat · 17/07/2019 16:18

I guess that Max feels threatened by Ian and thinks he might take Abi away? Don't know why to be honest but they rarely think logically in EE
Poor kid is only 18 months or so and been through so much.
Currently on the run with her mad aunt, has a very bad grandpa and no mum of her own.

JoxerGoesToStuttgart · 18/07/2019 19:58

Super Stuart to the rescue! Grin knew she would call him.

I love Ben. His arrogance is amazing. Why is he torturing himself? Is it grief for Paul or because he wants Callum and can’t have him?

SalemSpellman · 18/07/2019 22:42

Ben is generally a tortured soul

JoxerGoesToStuttgart · 18/07/2019 22:54

He is, but this seems to be going somewhere. He’s self harming by setting up beatings for himself.

PatricksRum · 19/07/2019 03:55

Anyone else notice Denise spilling coffee all over the place? Drove me insane I couldn't focus on anything else!

Grin at this
I thought the exact same. She was constantly spilling it. Then I noticed everyone in the cafe had different mugs, it was really annoying.

The80sweregreat · 19/07/2019 06:30

Stuart rescued Bex from a bad man now it's Rainie!
His the one to call in a crisis and he doesn't need too many directions to get there either he just knows the way. Super Stuart we all need one.

Ben is just a nightmare: wait till he discovers the new will details and that Ken might be the dad of Sharon's baby : as he no doubt will!
Karen with Caron was funny

The80sweregreat · 19/07/2019 06:42

I still can't believe that Rainie had 75 k in one little bag all along and is now totally broke.

To be fair, you would be completely gutted but she is also very silly. I had her down as more savvy than this.
Whole thing is very stupid.

Optimist1 · 19/07/2019 07:35

Totally stupid, The80s - I was thinking if I found myself with no money and a baby I'd have looked for some help from someone ASAP instead of sleeping in a stairwell, waking up and doing a bit of begging first! And if she'd managed to tell Stuart where she was, why did she feel the need to turn a trick while she was waiting for him to turn up?

The80sweregreat · 19/07/2019 09:03

I guess she thought that Super Stuart might not show up so she just did that while she waited ( just in case)
He was going to ignore her as it was until he had a change of heart! Good job he did.
Lucky her phone was still in full charge.
She is a total nightmare.

JoxerGoesToStuttgart · 19/07/2019 09:40

It was all so implausible. Woman who has been living a perfectly normal life for a couple of years at least, raising a baby, running a business, one day without cash and she’s begging in stairwells and turning tricks 3 feet from the baby in the pram. Hmm

Super Stuart we all need one.

Grin
The80sweregreat · 19/07/2019 10:21

The bank would never have allowed her to have so much cash out in one go - the bank should have been a bit aware as Jack had con tacted his bank to say the money was missing. as we all discussed before. we are meant to believe the whole lot has gone though and some of it isnt still in her account ?

Then she just happens to run into the most crafty and quick thinking con man on the planet at the same hotel as well as then calling up Stuart ( on a phone that didnt run out of battery overnight) who just happened to know exactly where she was and get there in double quick time. she also left her bags on the trolley at the hotel when she ran off, so she had nothing for poor Abi to eat or a change of nappy or anything for hours and hours.
most people would have just gone back to the square and faced the music! at least thrown herself on the mercy of Max, using Abi as a tool to get them to listen to what happened to the cash and try and help her get it back or something? or just go to the police!
i know that its a soap and we've had some terrible story lines in the past, but all this takes the biscuit and wouldnt be quite so bad if a small motherless child wasnt involved as well.

Blondeshavemorefun · 19/07/2019 10:25

I’m such a saddo I had to google what shazza was looking at

Yes it can be done. For about £1000. Blood test from mum
And mouth swabs from father’s

So totally safe for baby

I didn’t know that. I thought could only tell once baby was born or have a test but was a risk to baby

We have seen a child in a childcare setting !!!!

Wonder if free hours ? Or will be costly as not 3

And Raine. Seriously ??
