Big Bang Finale - Obviously Spoilers.

No thread on the Big Bang Theory finale? I thought it was perfect.

I shed a tear at the Nobel winning moment, the lift, Penny's pregnancy, seeing Halley and Michael and that speech, especially when he said, "Astronaut Howard"! It was the perfect ending.

I also LOVED the ending of this season of Young Sheldon where we get to see young Leonard, Penny etc. The little details of the things in their bedrooms was beautiful, even the P that Penny has kept for her wall now.

Wtf????? It hasn't been shown yet! Where are you?

NCforthisone19 · 18/05/2019 11:56

UK. It came out yesterday for those who watch Internet TV.

It was released yesterday. It's not on E4 until next Thursday.

I thought it was perfect, possibly the most satisfying ending to a long running series since Friends.

I'm going to miss it - I love TBBT, I like that everyone didn't have a perfect sewn up ending as well.

Xyzzzzz · 18/05/2019 13:13

I was annoyed they made penny pregnant when she alway said she never wanted children. I wish that for once a show would respect a females choice 😕

NCforthisone19 · 18/05/2019 13:17

See, I originally thought that about Penny, but then when I thought about it more deeply, the whole theme and title of the show was about change.

Penny didn't want children, she'd been vehement about that but I think they did it to show that people can change their minds. She had options - we've seen her say in the past that she needed the morning after pill and they have touched on termination with Bernadette, so those options were there, but she decided to keep the baby. I thought it was a nice way of showing that sometimes people can change their minds, and gave a surprise to the audience as we knew Penny didn't plan to have children.

I agree if Amy had a baby it would have been far more predictable. They touched on the fact that it was unplanned and that Penny had taken time to wrap her head around it and was then happy, something that often happens.

I think the whole show has done well on representing women and real life, the fact that they've cover women in STEM careers, Bernadette and Howard being less than happy to have a second child when they found out, they fact that Bernie was huge and took all night to give birth rather than a nest bump that was delivered five minutes after waters breaking.

iloveredwine · 18/05/2019 13:26

I loved Amy's speech about women in stem.

NCforthisone19 · 18/05/2019 13:27

Amy's speech was fantastic.

Yes, we already know Amy and Sheldon have children from what was said on Young Sheldon, so it wouldn't have been a surprise.

I loved Sheldon’s speech...totally made me cry. Amy’s makeover was very well done too - she looked lovely but they didn’t go over the top.
I’m glad they didn’t make Amy pregnant, and Raj married as that would have been too neatly wrapped up.

Pengrin · 18/05/2019 13:29

Yeah, if there absolutely had to be a baby I think it should have been Amy. I’d have liked to have seen Leonard and Penny planning a round the world trip or something else not so stereotypical.

Icecreambythesea · 18/05/2019 20:31

I was a tiny bit sad that Raj was still single at the end of the show but other than that, I thought it was absolutely perfect. I'm going to miss the show but at least I have Young Sheldon to watch.

NCforthisone19 · 18/05/2019 21:59

I was sad, but then it's better than him being with Anu when she wasn't right for him. I'm so glad they didn't just let him leave and go to England to be with her like I thought they were.

Just watched the finale (don't tell DH!).

Rounded off perfectly IMO.

Crinkle77 · 19/05/2019 12:13

I used to live TBBT but unfortunately it went off the boil after Howard and Bernadette for married and it just wasn't as funny.

SpeckofStardust · 19/05/2019 12:20

It was perfectly done, all of it. The elevator in the apartment block finally working. And Raj’s ‘it’s not a date’ date for the Nobel ceremony? Genius! Sheldon stopping mid speech “is that Buffy the Vampire Slayer?!” and Sarah Michelle Gellar’s rueful, sheepish little wave in response.

I think I watched the entire thing wiping away a mess of laughter tears, sad tears and snot.

PipeDown2019 · 19/05/2019 16:18

to the people moaning about Penny being pregnant and not respecting womens wishes.

Get a life, it's a TV show, if thats what the writers decide the character wants, then thats what they want. Who do you think you are to tell them how they should behave????

Loopytiles · 19/05/2019 19:21
Hmm
ChippyMinton · 19/05/2019 19:25

Great. Clicked on this assuming the OP had created it in anticipation of the finale being shown next week ..thanks for nothing.

allworthwhile · 19/05/2019 19:28

It does say spoilers to be fair 🤷🏽‍♀️

ImposterSyndrome101 · 19/05/2019 19:29

Link please

ChippyMinton · 19/05/2019 19:31

I know! But wasn’t expecting spoilers until it was aired ( first world problem obviously Grin)
Now where can I watch it???

SpeckofStardust · 19/05/2019 19:31

It says Obviously Spoilers right there in the thread title, ChippyMinton what about that didn’t you understand?

ChippyMinton · 19/05/2019 19:47
