Big Bang Finale - Obviously Spoilers.

No thread on the Big Bang Theory finale? I thought it was perfect.

I shed a tear at the Nobel winning moment, the lift, Penny's pregnancy, seeing Halley and Michael and that speech, especially when he said, "Astronaut Howard"! It was the perfect ending.

I also LOVED the ending of this season of Young Sheldon where we get to see young Leonard, Penny etc. The little details of the things in their bedrooms was beautiful, even the P that Penny has kept for her wall now.

It's been aired. The title says spoilers. If you haven't seen what happens on Instagram/Facebook/Twitter/The News then sorry, you must be living in a hole.

I thought they wrapped it all up well! Glad that Raj didn’t end up with a girlfriend, and happy that Penny is pregnant. Cried during Sheldons speech.

I haven't seen it yet but how predictable that Penny would be pregnant. Yes it shows that women can change their mind but how about showing that a young woman who says she doesn't want children means that and doesn't change her mind?

I got sick of being told when young "oh you'll change your mind". Even a female doctor said that to me. No I won't and never did. That's why men and women get a hard time if they want to get sterilised or have a vasectomy when young

Yes, such a cliche that they have done that with Penny and Leonard.

But while I enjoy BB Theory there are some big issues with the writing on sex, race, nationality and sexuality (any gay characters in any series?)

Not in comedy, but Shonda Rhimes broke ground with Christina Yang and Olivia Pope’s abortions.

Defo not nearly as funny since the coupling up.

The last few series have been very formulaic & the actors seem to have been just going through the motions IMO

I did enjoy this, despite not really watching it for the last couple of seasons. Sheldon's speech was very touching.

I enjoyed it. I wish it had been longer though. I’d have loved to see more of the other characters. Maybe a party with all the old faces to celebrate the Nobel win.

While I know real life isn’t all tied up with a perfect pretty bow, I’d have loved to have seen Raj find love. I was half expecting Lucy to pop up again.

I agree it had lost some of its sparkle over the past couple of seasons, but I’ll miss it.

I don't watch Young Sheldon, how did it say that Amy and Sheldon have children?

i loved it, Amy & Sheldon's speeches were very year inducung. I thought Sheldon might make fun of Howard for not being a doctor but for once he was so nice.

Yes, Nquartz, I was crying too! (I hardly ever cry, thanks to ADs) Yes, love some of the minor characters especially Dr Bev, Sheldon's Mum, Mary (?) and Stuart. Nice penultimate one with Leonard and his mother, too.

I'm split on Penny pregnancy. However it was clear it was unplanned, and we know she would have a termination if she wanted to. You kinda just have to assume the character genuinely is happy!!

Bit sad Raj didn't get loved up.

I'm glad they kept the side characters out and made it about the central group, and that we finally got a glimpse of the kids. I reckon if she hadn't died, they'd have done a glimpse of them with Howard's Mum 😭

Did they actually use Bernie's kid? She was pregnant in real life during the second pregnancy wasn't she, hence the realistic bump

Get a life, it's a TV show, if thats what the writers decide the character wants, then thats what they want. Who do you think you are to tell them how they should behave????

Gosh yes you're Absolutely right. Why on earth should normal women have ‘opinions’ on a discussion Internet forum!!

We should definitely never question anything and certainly never chat about alternative plot lines to TV shows as the writers are clearly unquestionable by us mere mortal women.

Thank you suitably-named @PipeDown2019 for showing us the error of our ways, stifling our free speech and belittling our right to having opinions on anything.

The Penny pregnancy thing annoyed me as they had Amy encouraging girls to get into science and then flip to Penny’s switch saying all women want to be mothers really which isn’t true. They had a chance to be really progressive but they back out. It’s not an awful ending and it’s not like some women don’t change their minds but I think it was cowardly to make Penny to.

I like that they didn’t really end it though. Most other shoe someone leaves or they all leave or there’s a flash forward etc. They just left it as they are just carrying on.

I suppose though as her death was unexpected its possible they don't have any photos of her that aren't of the actress and not looking like the character iyswim

Did you see the build up show? They said when the actress who played Howard’s mum died they put her picture in the fridge at Leonard’s so she was there but not that visible.

What the woman who played Howard's Mum actually died?? I didn't know that ☹️

I thought the ending was a bit 'meh' but I loved that we finally saw Halley and Michael and I love that Halley was a mini me of Bernie and Michael a mini me of Howard!!

I wish they'd done an alternative ending where Sheldon goes to Mars!

I realise that simply because for practical reasons, they couldn't have a lot of the guest star roster involved, but for Sheldon and Amy to not take even one family member along to the Award ceremony?

But then again, Meemaw wasn't at Sheldon's wedding, and no reason given for her absence.

When was the last time we saw Sheldon's mum? Was she on this season at all? They had Leonard's mum on (was it the second to last episode?) and I would have loved to have seen Laurie Metcalf again. I love her.

I squirmed through the whole thing 😣 very disappointed. The acting - particularly Penny - really hit a wrong note. The whole episode felt flat to me, and the interaction between Leonard and his mother unreal.
