Mum series 3 - spoiler-ridden thread for the binge-watchers!

Just finished it. I haven't processed it enough to say anything coherent quite yet but I'm feeling all emotional. Going to miss it immensely.

I suppose it might pop up again in a few years time like Gavin and Stacey has! a special to tie up a few loose ends although i did read that the writer isn't even thinking about doing this,(. but then they all say that.)
a christmas wedding would be nice with some snow.

I'm not all that interested in the others tbh.

I wouldn't be that interested in a Christmas one if it was all about J, K & the baby-especially if they were leaving all to M&C!

Yes to Kelly and Derek.

They seem to have a lot in common, make each other laugh and seem to actually like each other.
Jason wouldn't be that upset I bet, but Pauline might!
His a bit older than her though so maybe the age gap would freak her out ; anyone over 35 is seen as 'ancient 'in Kelly's world so maybe just friends might be better!

Thanks to people who recommended this series. I've just binge watched all of it. What a great show! Beautifully observed and acted.

The thing that wound me up was how contemptuous Jason and Kelly were of Cathy. There were a couple of episodes where Cathy got up in the morning and had to clear up all the dinner plates, empty packets and mugs left all over the house. And Jason threw a shirt down the stairs for Cathy to iron AGAIN, because he'd left a clean ironed shirt on the floor.

Jason and Kelly live (probably rent-free) in Cathy's house and they don't even put their own plates in the dishwasher or the rubbish in the bin! Yes, Cathy's a doormat and should put her foot down on Jason and Kelly's terrible behaviour, but jeez. I would go mad if anyone left my house in that state.

She was Jane in S2 of CTM. She was a medical orderly at Nonnatuns then she left to train as a nurse and was never seen again!

Kelly? She's in every episode I think! She can be a bit annoying but once you meet her mum you find out a bit more about why she is the way she is. Also I really warmed to her by series 3. Definitely stick with it!

I hadn't noticed this, I'll have to have a rewatch I've probably missed lots of little touches like this.

Love love love this series and have just re-watched all 3 series.

I love Michael and am intrigued by Pauline. So vile on the surface but flashes of kindness and self awareness. I laughed out loud when Derek offers to reverse the car for her and she snaps, 'I'm a woman, Derek, it's not a fucking disability.'

Watched the last one this evening. Perfect.
Loved Kathy telling Pauline to go fuck herself.
Loved her telling Kelly she was being rude.
Loved the chat between Jason and Michael, but then he ruined it by what he said to his mum.
Loved how Kathy got the champers, glasses and she regulation Tyrrels crisps and took Michael off into the sunset.
I hope they have a Christmas special, but it doesn't need it. I loved this series and will miss it very much.

Reanimating an old thread to say that we've just been to see Lesley Manville in a film called 'Ordinary Love', and oh my God she was amazing in it. It doesn't seem to be getting much cinema time - we had to go to a tiny local arts cinema to see it because it was only in the big cinemas for a few days - but if you get a chance, it's well worth making the effort to go and see it.
