Tonight Max said to Rainie that they'd had a good run for their money, had the car lot rent-free for months but only last week Ben was telling Rainie that the rent on the car lot was being increased (10%?) with immediate effect. I don't understand!

Maybe Raine wasn't aware about the rent? Max isn't the most trustworthy person and a liar! No idea really!

Maybe Ben is in cahoots with Max? I really do think he gave in far too quickly there.
He isn't as happy with Rainie as he once was and is known for double crossing!
I think this is all v dodgy.

He was talking about some kind of protection payment to Phil in a “he gets enough out of me” way. That they had not mentioned before. We are the super FANS and yet half story lines have us in a huddle.

Love the Max double cross but he can’t stich Jay up. He has had his back from day one and is so nice. We haven’t had a cab firm for years so maybe that could be one angle.

I don't really remember a "protection money" thing with Phil but equally I have a vague niggly memory about something like that. If it were true though, someone on this thread would remember properly I would have thought.

Phil was broke not long ago but seems ok now after a bit of ' Money laundering' through the club.
Seems crime does pay. Not sure about protection money though. The deals they broker are vague. A bit like this ' people smuggling ' thing which is just awful.

As for Max and Rainie who knows? Now they have been kicked out the car lot , what will they do for jobs ? He seemed remarkably cool about it all and they have Abi to think about too. Rainie was good at selling cars!
Whatever became of the money the random trampoline stole out the drawer at Max's ? That story was dropped!

The whole Ken thing is a bit annoying.

First his crying over Sharon now his all moody and upset about Louise ( who he had little time for last week)
His a bit a of a mess but pleased he would support her and the child. By buying overpriced teds.

Ben cannot do the dirty on Jay! Jay is far too nice... one of the few characters with any integrity whatsoever! I suspect that’s the plan though as nu Ben is totally out for himself.

So here’s my hope... Jay comes to his senses, realises what Ruby is really like and gets back with Lola. It would set a few things to rights imo: Ruby is on the surface the more polished and successful working woman, but she’s actually pretty nasty (horrible double standards over her sexual assault on an employee; deeply controlling with Jay over his assets and blows hot and cold with him) whereas Lola looks like a slapper but is the better person. It would also mean Jay takes over the role of ‘step dad’ to Lexi which would really hit Ben where it hurts.

Let's hope the writers are aware of our musings on here and do the right thing!
I love the idea of Jay as successful undertaker and step dad to lexi.
