I noticed the gunshot wound a couple of weeks ago - I assumed he died in a duel over his true love!

LarryGreysonsDoor · 08/05/2019 07:35

I hadn’t noticed the gun shot before either. I’m guessing a dual.

I love it. It seems to have found its feet now and settled in.

DobbyTheHouseElk · 08/05/2019 09:50

I’m over invested too. Only two more episodes to go. I love HH.

DobbyTheHouseElk · 08/05/2019 09:57

MissFitton I think I need to go back and rewatch the first one again. I’m sure you are correct with Mary, she does smoke for time to time and people smell burning, so I’d imagine so.

Waspnest · 08/05/2019 12:31

Love the programme, though again I'm amazed it's on so late (less suitable for kids than Not Going Out, really?), it's lovely to see the original HH team back together again.

I quite like the husband, I was suspicious of his motives at the beginning but I warmed to him after he ran around naked completely unaware that there were no ghosts there to see him.

Catchingbentcoppers · 08/05/2019 13:22

It's funny isn't it, that this little programme seems to have created characters that you care about in such a short time? Smile

ElGuardiandenoche · 08/05/2019 13:24

@NurseButtercup you really need to You Tube Horrible Histories.

For your delectation...

I thought I’d start a HH thread as there are so many great songs and skits and I don’t want to derail this thread.

Shame he fell through the floor. How else are they going to pay for all the building work

Sure said somewhere she got burnt alive hence why burning smell when people walk through her

Missed the gun shot wound

YesPleaseMary · 08/05/2019 14:31

OOOh I noticed Thomas's gunshot wound! Agree he must've died in a duel.

I keep wondering how the delicious Captain died too. Why was he at Button House during the war? Presuming he did die during the war... was he convalescing or something? Or a spy? Or something to with him, ahem, batting for the other side?

MissFitton · 08/05/2019 14:37

I only noticed Thomas' gunshot wound this week on my second viewing. Might have to see if it was noticeable before 😁

FoxSquadKitten · 08/05/2019 14:42

I only noticed the gunshot wound this week too. How strange 🤔

CloudRusting · 08/05/2019 15:03

This is such a lovely gentle program. I do hope they make another series.

WineCheeseSleep · 08/05/2019 15:10

I'm really enjoying this, love the ghost characters. I met Mat Baynton a few years ago while he was filming something else and he was lovely and handsome

LIZS · 08/05/2019 17:29

@WineCheeseSleep Envy was it for the Wrong Mans ?

Just checking in to say how much this is hitting the spot. Really properly funny character comedy. I loved the Captain being very dismissive of layabout artsy types and then instantly won round by the military organisation, the handsome young assistant director, and the endless scope for ordering people about.

Am I the only person who loved Quacks? The jokes were cruder than this and a bit hit and miss but the character development was fantastic.

Saucery · 08/05/2019 17:55

I loved Quacks! It had some really pertinent things to say about the role of women in medicine. Plus it was stupid, gory, rude and downright silly.

LIZS · 08/05/2019 17:57

Didn't stick with Quacks, it was in an odd timeslot on bbc2, but enjoyed what I saw.

Ghosts of Motley Hall...
Ben wilbond is just juicy in a uniform as an undercover gay
I am feeling drawn to the caveman too....help

Autumnchill · 08/05/2019 18:05

So glad I decided to record this! Really funny and disappointed only 2 episodes left

darkriver19886 · 08/05/2019 18:09

Love it. Thomas is brilliant. I watched all the episodes available back to back when I discovered it.

lolaflores · 08/05/2019 18:13

It's a good show when even the thread about it on mumsnet makes me laugh.
Oh but that Bell Willbond...goodness me. The psoher he goes the wobblier I get.
I actually stalked the entire HH team out to the chiltern open air museum near chesham. Through a process of elimination and watching tweets I worked out they would be filming. I don't live too far from it. Popped out. Wandered around. Watched from afar. One of the crew gave me piece of cake Nd passed on my message of undying f love to Ben Wilbond then I went scarlet and ran away.
I was 44 years old.

woodhill · 08/05/2019 18:14

Love this, it's very funny

DobbyTheHouseElk · 08/05/2019 18:26

lolaflores that’s brilliant 👍

MissFitton · 08/05/2019 18:28

Oh that's brilliant @lolaflores 😂 I'd be exactly the same
