So if you could be ghostly extras in the Christmas special/ series two when would you be from

I would be someone who had unfortunately drowned in the pond. I would wander around looking cold, dripping ghostly patches of water and leaving an air of pond weed.

MissFitton · 17/05/2019 06:33

@SmellMySmellbow - I agree with @AnneEyhtMeyer you need the five original series. I've tried the new ones. I don't like them. The original cast ones (ie the ones in Ghosts) are by far the best and I'm another one who's been known to watch them on my own. Grin

Crazycat16 · 17/05/2019 06:55

tkband3 so glad you told him we all love it.

I can’t believe it’s the last one already Sad

LesserBohemian · 17/05/2019 07:03

Same here. DD got the HH DVD box set before it was on Netflix and I watched the whole thing myself! So good. So clever.

LesserBohemian · 17/05/2019 07:05

Also agree it’s the first few series with the original cast (the ones in Ghosts) you want.

WineCheeseSleep · 17/05/2019 16:03

@SmellMySmellbow (love the up to date username by the way!) I love the Detectorists too and there's something about the warmth of both series that just really works for me.

I've never seen Yonderland so will get round to that soon. Voted for Ghosts in that awards link soon, some brilliant other comedies in there though, it's been a good time for comedies lately.

Parvuli · 17/05/2019 18:07

Yonderland is hilarious 😂

Crazycat16 · 17/05/2019 18:56

WineCheeseSleep can you post a link for the awards please? I have scrolled back but must keep missing it as I can’t see it. I googled and couldn’t find a vote but delighted to have this thrown up Smile

@Crazycat16 here you go Smile I skipped a load of categories as I'm not into soaps and there were quite a few for them!

SoupDragon · 17/05/2019 19:19

When you get to Soap Actors and Actresses and don't know who to vote for, vote for "Keegan" and "Bailey" in Eastenders. The characters are 17 and 10 and the actors are simply brilliant.

Crazycat16 · 17/05/2019 19:55

wine ahh i see. Thanks. I skipped loads and found it. Thrilled we can vote 😊

AnneEyhtMeyer · 17/05/2019 20:38

Oh I will be so sad if they don't make more series.

Anyway, I've been thinking about the young plague girl who sings - why isn't she in the cellar with the other plague victims?

DobbyTheHouseElk · 17/05/2019 21:29

I want to know more about the basement ghosts.

AnneEyhtMeyer · 17/05/2019 21:41

Me too Dobby. They seem so nice and I feel sorry for them stuck in the dark. I loved that the first time we saw them with every flicker of the torch they got closer until they were right next to Mike and Alison and looked really menacing but were then just helpful boiler experts!

Reallybadidea · 18/05/2019 09:19

Absolutely adore this programme. I think it's probably one of my favourite programs of all time. Robin is brilliant. I've rewatched the episodes 2 or 3 times and I NEVER do that!

Slaymill · 18/05/2019 09:33

I agree @Reallybadidea to quote the message I sent to the BBC "What a masterpiece of comedy" and I believe it is. It can be watched multiple times and still makes you laugh.

One of my friends is off to New York and is going to see www.instagram.com/tootsiemusical/?hl=en I couldn't help to think of Julian charades and Mary " What's a Tootsie ?".

Reallybadidea · 18/05/2019 10:02

I would be gutted if the BBC didn't make another series (or 6). I think the writer's have played their hand very cleverly with the writing - we've only seen 1 ghost's death day, so potential for lots more episodes with that theme (I don't want to see Julia's though, to be honest). And with it being turned into a hotel there are going to be lots of guests... Alison could have a baby...

Particularly loved the scene where they're saying which Friends character they are. We've done exactly the same as a family Grin Unfortunately, I'm apparently Monica, which means I'm Fanny by extension Hmm

rareappearance · 18/05/2019 12:58

They HAVE to make more. I'm really going to miss this gem

Once I've down the housework I'm going to watch all the episodes again.

I know I've said before but I love Robin. Grin

Reallybadidea · 18/05/2019 13:00

I want a cuddly toy Robin

merrymouse · 18/05/2019 13:08

I’m imagining that Robin is literally called after a robin and that the name translates down through the ages.

Reallybadidea · 18/05/2019 13:10

Or maybe robins were named after him???

DobbyTheHouseElk · 18/05/2019 13:47

I think they will make more series. It’s a rare gem among the dross.

LarryGreysonsDoor · 18/05/2019 15:34

Robins only became called robins in the Victorian era.
Before that they were called Red Breasts.
Robin was a nick name, like Jenny Wren.

There's a hare....pom pom
