@tkband3 I trust you are taking your dog for plenty of walks and lurking in the park. We want more Ghosts!

Well, thanks to Pat with the Labrador I was off to a sniffly start with it even before Robin and his earliest companion.

AnneEyhtMeyer · 14/05/2019 20:39

Well after a quick basic lesson in Friends catchphrases, haircuts and sofas I watched last night's with DD. She loved it and was touched by Robin and Moonah.

Immediately it finished she asked to start the series again from the beginning, so we watched the first three episodes again.

I knew this series was likely to be good, but it is so much better than I ever hoped. I'm gutted there's only one episode left.

We have already adopted phrases into our everyday conversation - a sure sign this is a classic series.

merrymouse · 14/05/2019 21:21

I think this programme is like Blackadder

Blackadder took a while to find its groove. It think this is already brilliant.

tkband3 · 14/05/2019 22:04

We are just loving this series. Three DDs (15 & 14 year old DTs) and I LOVED the Friends references last night (DH doesn't watch Friends, but still chuckled). Very sad that it's the last one next week Sad.

DDog and I walk every morning in the hope of bumping into Pat, I mean Jim. Would love to talk to him about this series and tell him just how much everyone is loving it. DD1 has decided she'll be getting up early in the hopes of seeing him (I'll believe that when I see it Grin).

I might link him to this thread on Twitter - I'm sure he'd love to see such unanimous enthusiasm for the show.

Catchingbentcoppers · 14/05/2019 22:07

I also follow him on twitter @tkband3 he seems a thoroughly nice chap.

Reasonstobeearful · 14/05/2019 22:13

I love this programme! I like everyone on it. Such clever writing; really satisfying the way it all comes together. And of course the Tory MP was the one to know about the dirt. Brilliant.

tkband3 · 14/05/2019 22:16

@Catchingbentcoppers he really is. And he's a Spurs fan (which goes down well in this house Grin)

GraceMarks · 14/05/2019 22:21

I've been watching this from the start and only just looked to see if there was a thread. I love the sheer good-naturedness of it - it's refreshingly free of snark and cruelty. I like GoT as well though...

This week, I liked the way they were all entranced by the shiny DVD, and then the trouserless MP cheerfully pointed out "It's a compact disc!" I thought Pat might have known what it was too, seeing as he was around in the 80s, but maybe I have my technology timelines muddled.

I also loved how all the ghosts just joined in with Robin's Moonah ritual, even though it meant nothing to them personally.

Another one joining in with the appreciation for Ben Willbond in a uniform, with an honourable mention for Mathew Baynton in Regency stockings.

Catchingbentcoppers · 14/05/2019 22:23

@tkband3 ah Liverpool fans in this house. Grin

tkband3 · 14/05/2019 22:26

@Catchingbentcoppers looking forward to June 1st then Grin.

Catchingbentcoppers · 14/05/2019 22:31

@tkband3. Ha ha ha! Yes!!

TwitterQueen1 · 14/05/2019 22:38

It's amazing writing, acting and characterisation. I just love it. I do need to watch all the episodes again because I'm pretty sure I've missed lost of references...

TwitterQueen1 · 14/05/2019 22:40

lots! not lost...

PJMasksAreOnTheirWay · 14/05/2019 22:49

I might link him to this thread on Twitter - I'm sure he'd love to see such unanimous enthusiasm for the show.

Do this and generally stalk him in um, a polite way. I need him to know how much a second series is wanted. Like, badly.

Finfintytint · 14/05/2019 22:55

I don’t ask for much but a second (possibly eighth) series would be fab.

tkband3 · 14/05/2019 23:02

@PJMasksAreOnTheirWay - I’ve tweeted the link to him. I’m no expert at twitter so hope I’ve done it right!!

MarjorieFrangipani · 14/05/2019 23:05

Absolutely loving Ghosts and really hoping for a second (or more) series.
Really cleverly written and well acted, just so funny and touching.

I'm loving it just as much, if not more, watching a second time with my 12 year old - she loves it too.
Massive hit here please please please let there be more
I'm contemplating a full on campaign with the bbc, if we bombard them enough surely they'll have to commission more??

AnneEyhtMeyer · 15/05/2019 07:32

If you do see Jim Howick and they are looking for costume ideas for any future ghosts could you put in a word for tricorn hats? They all looked amazing in those. Especially Laurence Rickard.

iklboo · 15/05/2019 07:45

I've contacted the BBC with praise and a beg request for it to be renewed.

AnneEyhtMeyer · 15/05/2019 07:51

Oh good idea - I'll do the same.

Mrsjayy · 15/05/2019 08:41

I downloaded Bill from cbbc to watch today

Chopinaround · 15/05/2019 08:45

I’ve also just emailed the BBC to ask for another series and praising this one to the hilt. They just can’t leave it at one series.

FoxSquadKitten · 15/05/2019 08:54

Love there to be another series or three

I also got a bit choked up over Robin and the moon being there for so long 😭

MoonahStone · 15/05/2019 09:42

I think my favourite part of this episode was Pat and the dog really loved that.
