Started watching GOT last week & now at penultimate episode of season 3 & I'm truly traumatised! Not sure if I'll be able to continue with it but also don't think I'll be able to stop! Also don't want to google as don't want to see spoilers but feel like I can't stop myself!

Anyone else late to the party like me & in a similar position?

I'd love to still have most of it ahead of me. I'm quite sad that I only have one season left.

youngestisapsycho · 26/03/2019 11:27

I cant wait for the last series to start next month.... then I'm going to buy a fancy boxset of all series and take my time watching it all over again, and again and again!

oldowlgirl · 26/03/2019 17:38

So it sounds like it's definitely worth sticking with it, even though it's traumatising me?!

It doesn't get lighter so if it's too much now best stop.

I'm on penultimate episode of s7 on a full rewatch, I still get traumatised!

oldowlgirl · 26/03/2019 17:45

Oh no, I'm not sure then. Maybe I'll wait until the whole thing is over & then read what happens.

The books are worth reading if you want the story.
Be warned though he hasn't written the last book yet!

ChickensForTheHound · 26/03/2019 18:04

What's traumatising you?

I'm so jealous you get to watch it all without knowing what happens, I'd love to do that again.

We are on our umpteenth rewatch, just got to the start of S7 again and I can't wait for the new season.

Nousernameforme · 26/03/2019 18:04

Series 3 is rough going but get to series 4 and its still brutal but you get larger gaps in between the brutality. I found the theon storyline really jarring and cant rewatch that series for that reason

oldowlgirl · 26/03/2019 18:10

The torture of Theon & the massacre at Roberts wedding - I found both particularly disturbing.

He hasn’t written the last book yet?

I thought season 8 was going to be the last season?

We’ve just binge watched the whole lot and are now desperate for the next season to start. It is just as violent but it is very good.

TheQueef · 26/03/2019 18:41

Has he bollocks lipwig he's no spring chicken and neither am i. He needs to pull his socks up and get writing.
The telly series has been made and finished but the books have more characters and the story ends different.

TeaForTheWin · 26/03/2019 18:57

Season 3 was the red wedding season right? It was one of the most brutal I think. That and the whole sansa/ramsey stuff...season 5...or 6 I think. It is worth it. 100%. I mean, ya gotta keep watching now to see the vengeance right? :)

Judashascomeintosomemoney · 26/03/2019 19:00

It would be a real Shame! if you gave up now. A real Shame!, Shame!......don’t worry you’ll get what I mean soon 😂
I envy you though, wish I could watch it all, all over again, with fresh eyes.

cookielove · 26/03/2019 19:10

I am waiting for the latest season so not a newbie, but i agree with others you need to continue watching

Spoiler Alert
I found it hard watching season one when they killed of Eddard Stark!

Both watching and reading!!

oldowlgirl · 26/03/2019 20:33

Ok thanks all - I'll stick with it. Just really hope the torture at least is finished - somehow beheadings are ok Grin

OP posts:
TheQueef · 27/03/2019 07:21

I had a thought last nibht. You HAVE to watch more or you will miss Hodors story.
Sorry but you need to gird yerself Grin

oldowlgirl · 27/03/2019 10:43

Ok Grin

Oh if you are traumatised now then brace yourself - there is lots more to come. But it is worth it, really really worth it.

You need to get a wiggle o though as the last series starts on April 14th

UtterlyUnimaginativeUsername · 27/03/2019 13:31

Oh god, don't give up. It's far too good to miss. We're about to start season 6 again and I'm enjoying it even more than I did the first time round!

BlackCatSleeping · 27/03/2019 13:33

I've been re-watching them and season 3 is the harder going, I think.

Lungelady · 27/03/2019 13:35

Embrace your inner Brienne and carry on!!

MrsCatE · 27/03/2019 13:58

I'm a newbie but SkyAtlantic are doing a special summary of the previous seasons so may watch that. It's on catch up.

SherlockSays · 27/03/2019 14:01

I've rewatched a couple of times but I always skip Theon's torture - no need for the graphics in my opinion! Season 7 was the best I think for toning the gore down.

oldowlgirl · 27/03/2019 14:19

I think it was Theon's torture that almost finished me off - plus I really liked that guy in Our Girl, so found it worse when he was playing the psychopath!

Anyway, I'm now on episode 4 of season 3 - loved seeing Joffrey turn blue but actually would have loved to see him properly suffer given how evil he was (don't think I'd have been too disturbed by that actually Grin).

OP posts:
oldowlgirl · 27/03/2019 14:20

I mean episode 3 of season 4 Blush
