Maybe the random deputy head is another of Karl’s long lost sisters then. Or a former conquest with another lovechild to add to Dr Sperminator’s brood. Or maybe she has a large sparkly bowler hat collection and heard that you can teach at Erinsborough High without knowing much about anything, can leave as and when you like to deal with personal problems (or the personal problems of your neighbours) and can be visited by said neighbours or any passing relative without comment or the need for pesky things like safeguarding checks (which is fortunate when most of your neighbours and relatives have at least one conviction or a poorly concealed addiction).

The holidays are long, the classes are short, there is no dress code and your boss is usually off doing one of her many other jobs. Hell, even if you try to poison her and all your pupils she’d still invite you to stay in her cheap sheets . You’d be mad not to apply. Or maybe you’d just be mad.
