I thought Grigor was doing a bit of decorating...

Aw I wish he was!! It could be part of a series of tennis players being domesticated: Delpo cooking, Grigor decorating, Rafa shopping at Tesco's etc Grin

I see PierreH H beat Tomas Berdych and he's in the final in Montpellier. PHH is having a good year so far.

Raahh · 09/02/2019 19:05

Private ahh, Rafa an his Tescos trip. Grin

PHH is definitely having a good year. I wonder who he will partner up with, once Mahut hangs up his racquet?

PrivateIsles · 09/02/2019 19:21

Yes I wonder - didn't he win a doubles title with Goffin recently or have I made that up?! It's v unusual these days for someone to play singles and doubles pretty much year round isn't it (on the men's side that is). I think he's going to be top 30 in singles after this week. Good going! I like watching him as well, nice style of play.

PrivateIsles · 09/02/2019 19:24

Stan?! Grin actually slightly terrifying...

JaneJeffer · 09/02/2019 19:34

Stan prefers BYOB

What is going on with Stan and his bears??Grin

BYOB

Brilliant. Grin

magimedi · 09/02/2019 22:33

Stan needs watching.................... and keeping your distance from.

Bears? Stan? He is as wicked as a polar bear.

Be afraid, be very afraid.....................

Raahh · 10/02/2019 19:16

Good win for Jo-Willy today- that's a positive step back up the rankings.

And Medvedev won in Sofia.

Raahh · 11/02/2019 10:51

Rotterdam starts today, and I've just seen Stan's first match is against Paire.

I suppose it depends which Paire turns up, as to how that will go!

JaneJeffer · 11/02/2019 20:08

Stan won. I wish I could watch this.

OP posts:
Raahh · 11/02/2019 20:12

I can't watch either.

Well done to Stan! (Will he send Paire a bear? )Grin

JaneJeffer · 11/02/2019 20:18

A bear for Paire Grin

Good day from Down Under - we just arrived in NZ today which is why I've been MIA from the thread the last couple of days. They had WiFi on the plane so I could've logged on, but it felt a bit wrong using WiFi on board, Confused not sure why!

We're over for DH's brother's wedding next week. It's absolutely boiling hot, am so unacclimatised and my pasty skin is not liking it!

Anyway. So pleased for JoWilly, really want him to have a good season. And well done Stan. Love the Paire Bear idea Grin

Gutted to miss all time hottie Peter Davison Jane!! Grin

magimedi · 12/02/2019 08:45

Waves to Private I guess your sitting down to dinner now. Hope you have some fine NZ Wine.

Trying to think of any Kiwi tennis players & without going to google I can't.

Have a great time.

kazzaD66 · 12/02/2019 09:37

magi the only one I can think of off the top of my head is Chris Lewis - wasn't he NZ? Got to Wimbledon final from nowhere and disappeared almost as quickly again. Can't remember who he lost to without googling it. It was early to mid 80's I think.

private where in NZ are you? DH has cousins out there, so we've been out there a couple of times. Not envious at all, much! Grin Enjoy!

kazzaD66 · 12/02/2019 09:42

Couldn't help myself.....had to Google Chris Lewis. He lost to Johnny Mac in the 1983 final. One less thing for me to be worrying thinking about today, now HmmGrin

PrivateIsles · 12/02/2019 16:56

Thanks both - we're just outside Auckland kazza. Will probably do a bit of travelling around as well.

Yes I'm stumped for recent NZ players, although I did see a programme over here a few years ago about this guy - going back over 100 years though!!
Anthony Wilding he sounds a bit like the Rafa of his day, making women swoon and faint apparently!! I'm sure Wimbledon did some commemorative thing for him as well when they marked the WW1 anniversary - my jetlagged brain can't quite remember the details though, annoyingly.

JaneJeffer · 12/02/2019 21:19

Hope you have a great time Private

Ernests won today, yay!

OP posts:
Raahh · 13/02/2019 17:41

Private I hope you're having a good time (probably a bit early over there)Grin.

I see Tsitsipas lost to Dzumhur - often happens after a big tournament, things go off the boil a bit. He did pull it back in the second set, I think if it been over 5 sets he might have stood a chance.

Raahh · 13/02/2019 18:54

And I can't believe Stan is playing Milos again. I want both to win! But to improve his chances and bump up his ranking, I will go with Stan (but not be too upset if Milos wins Grin).

JaneJeffer · 13/02/2019 19:12

I'm keeping an eye on the score. Come on Stan!

OP posts:
magimedi · 13/02/2019 22:11

Allez, Milos.

Fall into the bear pit, Stan!
