I see Andy has been out and about today, launching a new kit sponsor. He said he'd love to come back to playing competitively, but needs to see how the rehab goes... Which is being reported as a big story... but isn't that basically what he's already said before?? Or am I missing something?!

Private it's no different than before, is it, other than he's had surgery now, and is free from pain, I guess. Doesn't mean he can suddenly play a 5 set match against Novak. He's been taking it one day at a time for the last 18 month, really. It's the media that keep pouncing on every thing as if it means 'he's never going to play again/will definitely play Wimbledon etc'.

I do feel for him, really. He probably just wants to be left to get on with it. It would be nice if he could just go off and quietly take part in some really small tournaments somewhere. Just for himself. But it's never going to happen.

I know, they're probably desperate for him to come back. Which is understandable I suppose. But also annoying, for us and probably for him!

Did you see Thiem and and Rafa playing 'football' prior to to the Eisenhower thing. They both looked very relaxed.
Rafa is looking very happy and smiley at the moment. Hopefully the wedding plans are going well .

I saw this morning that Dan Evans has got through qualifying in IW and will play Stan in the first round. He's (Evans) played a few matches out there so he could be in the groove - I hope Stan comes through it ok...

I'm hoping Stan is in good form- he is (at some point) scheduled to meet Federer, if I've read the draw properly. I'd love him to win that!

He could send Fed a big bear afterwards.

I saw the BBC interview with Andy aswell and thought he was very measured in his responses and wasn't promising anything. You'd never guess that from some of the headlines, though; they've almost got him aiming for a comeback tournament, when he just seems happy to be pain free!

Sorry, I know it's not a popular view, but I want Dan to win, although I won't be overly upset if Stan beats him

Honestly, the lovely thing about this thread is that no one gets cross or shouty if you don't support the same person as them. It's one of the happiest & nicest corners of Mumsnet.

Mind you - I wonder what would happen if I said Rafa was ugly & horrible?

I'm quite pleased with myself, as I have figured out Prime on my laptop (and remembered all the right passwords ).

Dd2 goes in hospital on Monday, for a few days, and I will have to stay. So , it will be the ideal time to watch tennis during the night when she is asleep , and I am not, since it's impossible to sleep in hospitals.

So long as I don't forget my charger .
