Raahh well done - I was racking my brains for another Swiss player and just couldn't think of one, I kicked myself when I saw who it was!!

I was thinking the same about this weekend Hopefully IW will be better (despite lack of Delpo).

I remember the Swiss player for also being a gold medallist. Not many of them either.

I am hoping Rafa can put up a good fight in IW. Can't cope with early losses!

I've now seen a picture of Kyrgios in the sombrero. At least it matched his top .

I still love the trophy. .

I can imagine Rafa embracing the sombrero- Kyrgios probably felt as daft as he looked .

Verdasco is out of IW, and stepping into his place is... Ernests! Yippee!!

When does the bloody thing actually start anyway?! There are loads of pictures of players practising there etc... I wish they would just crack on with it! They haven't even done the men's draw yet (I think it's today)...

Private IW always confuses me. It is longer than a 'normal' masters, with all the qualifying and stuff and does seem to take forever to get on with it .
It doesn't finish until next weekend, either.

And then it's Miami .

The addition of Ernests will add a bit of interest, what with Delpo not being there. I want Rafa to do well, obviously, but it will be Djok's to lose, I think, the way things are going.

I hope Stefanos can continue his run- he's definitely proving himself on all surfaces, which is a good thing.

I am determined to figure out whether I can watch any of it on Prime. I get confused with the time difference. No doubt my google search will be filled with checking the 'time in California' for the next week and a half

Yes the time difference is going to be a PITA isn't it as IW is 8 hrs behind (I think?!). Still at least my everlasting jetlag may come in useful - if the tournament ever gets started that is!

Hope Ernests makes it through a few rounds. Love him. And Stan will be unseeded so I hope he doesn't get any tricky match ups early on either! Although he probably will!

Queen's (the tournament I mean - the Stella Artois one!) were trying to create a buzz yesterday by saying they had a big announcement of a player for this year... aita just been announced... drum roll... It's Nick Kyrgios!!

They have announced some others as well but the only one I can think of at the mo is Cilic. Who has recently dropped out of the top 10 I noticed. What is he playing at?!

Marin had so many points to defend from the beginning of last year, hopefully he will be able to start to build some up as it gets past Queen's (when things started to go wrong!).

I wonder if Rafa will aim for Queen's again. He always tries to- but in all honesty, I'm not surprised he doesn't make it. I'd love him to go though. But the last two clay seasons have been something else for him really, if he replicates that again this year, or even comes close, it will be a huge achievement. And a lot of tennis.

I got royally pissed off with the commentary of Kyrgios at Queen's last year , anyway. I hope they don't allow John Lloyd any where near a mic. Box office, my foot. .

I think Cilic's down fall was getting him to floss on the Breakfast news , on the first morning of Wimbledon.

It all went downhill after that.

I’ve not watched any tennis for ages - we’ve got amazon prime but I can’t face watching tennis on it - must try harder.

Wasn’t impressed that Kyrgios beat Rafa in Acapulco (even less impressed with his comments about Rafa after the match). Hope that Delpo’s Injury not too bad

Will try and keep up with tennis and this thread from now on - can’t believe we’re hurtling towards the clay season - this year is going fast.

I've seen the draw is finally out - and one thing I saw was that Kyrgios is due to play Pierre HH . I hope Pierre exacts his revenge after the US open and Peptalkgatee, and Lahyani isn't the umpire! .

(Pierre has to beat Kohlshreiber first, so I'm getting a bit ahead of myself)

I've just been reading that at the Eisenhower cup exhibition match Rafa was playing in, they played 'rock paper scissors,' before the matches instead of a coin toss.

I saw a photo of the rock paper scissors - it looked like rafa won it!! There was also a sweet video of him and Thiem playing football (with a tennis ball) while waiting to go on court. It made them look about 10, v cute.

Really hope PHH gets through to play Kyrgios!!!
