Mel is awful for using men : she broke Ian's heart about 19 years ago ( he deserved it but all the same..) she then ran off with Steve Owen!
I think Ian is thick enough to let her use him again and think it will be different this time around. It won't. I hope Kath gets on to her.

I loved Nigel ;his friendship with Grant and Phil was a bit like Jean and Shirley are.

Mas came back to the Square with hardly any money and agreed to Carmel and then Shaki renting. Then Auntie and Uncle came along and lived there for free until he told them he needed money and they gave him a back payment which he used to buy into a business with Ian. Presumably Auntie and Uncle stopped paying rent when they went back to Pakistan. Unsure who is paying the mortgage on that house now. The Australian visa department insist on a high amount of money being in the bank account before entering the country to reside in the country! Mas and Ian's restaurant must be a goldmine! If so why would he leave it????

It was only mentioned by Mas in passing. Literally one sentence.

I imagine that it was time for the actor that plays Mas to have some leave so they just tied it in into a Tamwar storyline and let him go despite the fact he hadn't much money just a short time ago and managed to pass on a part of his business in next to no time.

It's totally unbelievable but this is what happens in soaps , completely devoid of reality sometimes. The two girls showing up was also very convenient for him!
His always been in and out of the soap for years.

I thoughtf from the way Xmas drove off esp when they played somebBollywood type music that it was the equivalent of Duff Duff music and he has left the series for good (or a few years at least).

I think it's been left open ended about Mas (and Alfie! )
It's a shame as a Mas / Kathy relationship may have worked ; she could have helped him run the business.
The girls could have still come into the show and worked for them or took over the cafe whilst Kathy was in the restaurant.
Still, it will be interesting to see how Ian feels about his nieces and if he is sucked into one of Mel's scams , which I think he might be. His always been obsessed by her.

Of course Ian will run into her trap. He is obsessed with her! They also need people to have partners/bug families in soaps. Everybody living alone in their houses doesn’t make good viewing.

I would love Ian to discover ( early on) that she is after his money and just string her along a bit then dump her.
