Am I the only one to find it a tad ironic to see the very middle-aged Mssrs le Bon & Taylor jumping around singing "Wild Boys"...

...I shall switch it on to take a look !!!

donnie · 01/07/2007 16:19

oh yes they really are past it aren't they? fat old wrinklies who can't let go.....( like me)

themoon66 · 01/07/2007 16:20

I didnt realise it was on now.

lissie · 01/07/2007 16:20

some things are best left alone.
loved elton john tho, "your song" is mty fave song ever. dh & i had our first dance to it..

NuttyMuffins · 01/07/2007 16:20

There is alot of empty seats isn't there. I wouldn't be too pleased about that if I had tried to get tickets.

tigerschick · 01/07/2007 16:21

Apparently they were one of her favourite bands which is why they're playing.
Bit squashy round the edges tho...?

themoon66 · 01/07/2007 16:22

Blimey... that new stadium is HUGE

Boobsgonesouth · 01/07/2007 16:24

..would have thought that style guru and ex model, Yasmin would have told her husband that highlights on a man over 40 just don't work !!!!!

BUT they are probably quite cardivascular fit to be able to tour and perform the way they are at the moment.....noticed Monsier Le Bon taking a sip of water too between sets...thought rockers did drugs and booze !!!!!

PS DH has gone for an audition with a new band this afternoon...and he's 51 !!!!

Once a rocker always a rocker

noddyholder · 01/07/2007 16:24

Its awful MOR and no atmosphere

huffpuff · 01/07/2007 16:31

cringed at the Princes' speech as well.

Agree there is not much atomosphere

willywonka · 01/07/2007 16:32

Reckon the line up would appeal more to my Mum than me, and I'm no spring chicken! It does look rather garden party-ish with all of those chairs in neat rows. Not sure that there'll be much of a mosh-pit !!

Word is, Robbie's joining Take That later.

Boobsgonesouth · 01/07/2007 16:32

backing guitarist to James Blunt looks like Frank Butcher !!!!!

Seems strange people ALL sitting on seats....and where's the mud ??????

willywonka · 01/07/2007 16:33

Robbie with Take That - I would want to see!!

I watched a bit; wincing.

Lots of tonsures and muffin tops in the crowd, lol.

agree re Wild Boys comment

willywonka · 01/07/2007 16:39

Does anyone know what the running times are supposed to be cos I'd really like to see Take That but don't think I can endure watching the whole thing - some of it is agonising. Sienna Miller & Dennis Hopper - wtf?!!

OP posts:
WanderingTrolley · 01/07/2007 16:39

Mmm, yes, contrary to the lyrics, the wild boys have lost it a little bit. But I still love them.

[denial about my muffin top emoticon]

Boobsgonesouth · 01/07/2007 16:40

TC >>>

WanderingTrolley · 01/07/2007 16:41

TT and "Special guest" supposedly in the third segment, but running order a bit cloak and dagger/whoever's not too gakked up to find the stage at the time.

noddyholder · 01/07/2007 16:41

Lots of suburban folk gone 'up london' for a show.

WanderingTrolley · 01/07/2007 16:42

When they said "Morrison" I thought about supermarkets.....

[hopeless old fart emoticon]

willywonka · 01/07/2007 16:43

Don't like the new Wembley at all.
Have made popcorn though and going to have a watch (and feel old when I see the likes of La Bon and co)

I do think Diana would have loved it though, what ever your feelings about her, she did a lot of good.
