Am I the only one to find it a tad ironic to see the very middle-aged Mssrs le Bon & Taylor jumping around singing "Wild Boys"...

Bloody hell, I only tuned in to watch Medium, now I can't see a thing.

Happy Birthday Diana. Get Freddie to throw you a party, it'll be a blast.

tigerschick · 01/07/2007 22:26

Well said MrsFish - thank you for your company

expatinscotland · 01/07/2007 22:26

Yet, for all the idyllic setting, her father cheated on her mother repeatedly and emotionally abused her, their marriage was sad and unhappy, her mother had two stillborn sons and once talked about one, saying, 'My arms still ache to hold that baby.'

Tutter · 01/07/2007 22:27

didn't know trhat expat

money doesn't make everything ok does it

ViciousSquirrelSpotter · 01/07/2007 22:28

Diana's childhood was far from idyllic

Apparantly it was terribly unhappy

MrsFish · 01/07/2007 22:28

Right, my bed is calling, its been a blast, g'night

MaureenMLove · 01/07/2007 22:29

Dyzzidi, I was fine until you said quite plainly, Happy Bithday Diana. There's nothing more to say, is there?

Goodnight Mrsfish

dyzzidi · 01/07/2007 22:31

Goodnight all you have been fantastic company tonight during this concert.

xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

expatinscotland · 01/07/2007 22:31

No, it sure doesn't.

Diana and her brother were caught up in a very bitter, nasty and public custody battle between her father, Earl Spencer, and her mother, born the Rt. Honorable Frances Roche. Their wedding had been a grand society event.

Frances lost her battle, a real shock at the time, as she had fled the marriage.

But Di and her brother were well aware of what was going on.

Di detested her stepmother, as well.

Just watched the end and it looked horrendous - didn't really come together as an event.

My cod psychology for anyone interested is that the princes were probably trying to catch tonight of that emotion that erupted when there mum died. They were looking for something from the british public.

Can't imagine they knew their mum that well

TaylorsMummy · 01/07/2007 22:49

Kaz,i disagree with you there.i think it was a good event.it had it's awkward moments but thats cos the princes are young and not used to organising this kind of thing.i think they did very well.

and i think they did know their mum well.she was the most 'hands on' of all the royals.

KeirRoyale · 01/07/2007 22:54

I had to leave the room after a song or two from Elton John. At least that way I didn't have to endure Candle in the Wind again.

themoon66 · 02/07/2007 00:17

Well they never did do candle in the wind so you left the room for nowt!

mummylin2495 · 02/07/2007 00:42

didnt like rg at all.loved bryan ferry and rod stewart and thought nelly was great, didnt think bbc did the show that well we kept losing the sound.all in all though a good few hours entertainment.

ViciousSquirrelSpotter · 02/07/2007 09:53

Did anyone else nearly boak when Rod Stewart wiggled his arse at the beginning of his set?

Oh god you horrid old geriatric, it's over, no-one's interested in your arse.

Yuk.

BigGitDad · 02/07/2007 12:16

He was taking the piss, but you did not get it!
Do you really think at his age he would strutt around like a love god? I always remember Kenny Everett sending him up with the huge blow up arse as he was singing one of his songs. Brilliant.

Wisteria · 02/07/2007 12:33

My Best bits:
watching the few interactions between Wills and Harry - specially the bit where Harry is obviously not listening to one of the presenters and starts clapping, upon which Wills turned to him and if you lipread said 'You're clapping yourself you ***',
and when Harry was trying to refuse to get into the schmalzy bits, waving and swaying etc. Sorry but Harry cracks me up - he's just so 'normal' and looks like a good laugh to boot. Loved Lily Allen and P Diddy and I thought Rod was good at least he created a bit of atmosphere!

Worst bit
The ending - was shite, complete anticlimax and I would have thought EJ could have played a few more 'rockin' tracks

Sound quality, appalling

Jamie Theakston - he's rubbish and annoying

ViciousSquirrelSpotter · 02/07/2007 13:27

BGD - of course he would!

He hasn't got out of the habit of marrying beautiful blondes young enough to be his granddaughter, has he? He's not developed enough of a sense of irony not to marry them!

Tutter · 02/07/2007 13:35

bump for compo

CodHun · 02/07/2007 13:37
