Yes, addictive, if you are interested in the Royals/recent U.K. social history....

TheyBuiltThePyramids · 08/01/2019 20:42

Loved it.

GeorgieTheGorgeousGoat · 08/01/2019 20:43

Yes

RedTartanLass · 08/01/2019 20:51

Don't like period dramas. Not interested in the Royals. Hate soaps and don't watch any TV just occasional box sets but LOVED just LOVED The Crown. I actually admire some of the royal family after watching it, especially Prince Philip who has had an amazing and tragic childhood.
Well worth a watch.

Yes, yes, yes

OnlyTheDepthVaries · 08/01/2019 20:55

ShakeYourTailFeathers · 08/01/2019 20:56

madeyemoodysmum · 08/01/2019 21:01

I really enjoyed it.

Theunreasonableone · 08/01/2019 21:02

I’ve just started watching OP. Now on episode 3 and I absolutely love it. Love the history and politics (my degree subjects).

noodlenosefraggle · 08/01/2019 21:05

Yes! It's great and beautifully shot. Well worth a watch.

importantkath · 08/01/2019 21:05

I love it!

SexNotJenga · 08/01/2019 21:07

It's fab. Not always happy, but brilliant. The episode with Churchill's portrait was a stand - out for me.

Threeminis · 08/01/2019 21:09

So good. Cannot wait for the next series

PeridotCricket · 08/01/2019 21:11

I’m not interested in the royal family but love£ it for the politics.

MsMightyTitanAndHerTroubadours · 08/01/2019 21:12

yes, I am no royalist, but really found it fascinating

as pp said Phillip had an awful childhood, and they do the "how fab to be Queen and how awful to be Queen" balance really well

I did wish it could have been a little more....involved...??? less superficial ?? maybe, but I guess they have 70odd years to squeeze in and too much would mean almost real time filming iyswim

It is very easy to watch and lots to look at.

Figgygal · 08/01/2019 21:15

Bloody amazing can't wait for series 3 even with the cast changes

Princess Margaret actress was brilliant and Matt smith in season 2 was so distant and sad and conflicted loved loved loved it

noodlenosefraggle · 08/01/2019 21:15

Yes it's not all wafting Royals. The politics is fascinating to. Agree its made me like the Royals more. I have a soft spot for Philip too even though I know he's not really Matt Smith Grin

GinaLinetti99 · 08/01/2019 21:18

I might be on my third rewatch. I love it that much.

MsMightyTitanAndHerTroubadours · 08/01/2019 21:18

yes...he was in a rock and a hard place wasn't he, they got that over so well

also love Margaret, just the right amount of brattish Princess

Wonder who is going to be her, when Olivia is Queen?

Sakura7 · 08/01/2019 21:22

Helena Bonham Carter will play Margaret in the next series. Can't wait!

GeorgieTheGorgeousGoat · 08/01/2019 21:28

Don’t worry, he’ll cark it soon.

(Obviously not a spoiler Grin)

I didn’t think it would be my thing, but it loved it. It’s beautifully done.

GeorgieTheGorgeousGoat · 08/01/2019 21:39
