Oh and I can see my first sewing machine!

They call them flares, we called them loons. I had a purple crushed velvet pair, they were stupendous Grin Not dissimilar to these!

Oh yes! I did the fancy triangular insert thingy! I also had a pair of navy cord flares with sheepskin round the bottom. Do not ask me why.

I totally used to add panels to my jeans to make flares in the late 90s/early 00s during the "grunger" trend. Grin

I used to add the panels to my and my friends' flares. I embroidered magic mushrooms round the bottom of my boyfriend's loon pants.

I spent quite a lot of the late 70's with Janet amazingly enough. (First time I've ever known anyone on TV it's very exciting) got a picture of her in a great floral shirt and jeans but can't see if they are flared or not. It's awesome watching her and working out the photo's on her board. Haven't seen her in the flesh for a long time sadly, she's fabulous.
