Aw am I the only one who loves Leah? I think shes hilarious.

If Iook as good at 50 as Sheila i'll be well pleased. But she had a bad week.

Who's the other one, who's 60? God she looks amazing. She's such a cool granny, amazing skin too. I think I have a bit of a girl crush on her.

Continue to love Joe, who seems to be just having a ball. Mind you, it's money for jam isn't it? Waft around with the odd quip. But he is adorable.

TheSilveryPussycat · 20/02/2019 23:56

I too like Joe. Got a bit fed up with Claudia on various competition shows, particularly as she always wished the participants Enormous Luck.

pasbeaucoupdegendarme · 21/02/2019 00:01

Just caught up tonight having watched murders occur on Scottish islands last night instead.

I liked the swan very much. Thought the right person left but agree hatman not strong.

Have decided I am going to make a new patchwork teacosy when I go on mat leave (in a week!!!).... after I’ve finished crocheting the baby’s blanket and made dd’s pyjamas... 😳

Fontella · 21/02/2019 12:53

Oooh you just reminded me - I've got Shetland still to watch on iplayer!

FuzzyPuffling · 21/02/2019 13:46

schady no glue or staples involved...al proper sewing. (If a bit basic!)

Huntlybyelection · 21/02/2019 16:37

Tuesday night is clearly Niche Hot Man night. I watch sewing bee and record Shetland. Both Patrick and Douglas Henshall are favourites of mine.

I've never used an overlocker. The multiple threads look like they could be deadly. I am considering investing in a double needle though - I mostly sew with Jersey at the moment and would love to have a more professional look to my bonkers clothes (currently wearing a long sleeve top I made - navy body and sleeves of bashful clouds) purely so I can be even more boastful when people say "Oh, your top is so... hem...unusual. where did you buy it so I can avoid the shop"

Huntlybyelection · 21/02/2019 16:38

Strikethrough fail! Should have used glue gun and staples on that...

Frenchfancy · 21/02/2019 19:46

A double needle gives a good look. Not too expensive at about £4 but annoying when you break them (remember to check your machine isn't set to zig zag)

Overlocker aren't that scary. I sewed for many years without one but now I have one I could never go back.

LoversLane · 21/02/2019 21:44

Just caught up with Ep2. Not one of my favourite ones, I have preferred children’s week in other series. I really liked the bunny hoodie though.

The right person went. And I’m finding Leah really annoying!!!

Never tried an overlocker but I’d love to!

neddle · 24/02/2019 00:15

Overlockers are great, they’re very fast and you can use them on all sorts of fabric, not just stretch.
When I need to Change thread colours on mine, I just cut at the top, tie the new thread on and pull the ends through. Means you don’t have to retread from scratch each time.
I’ve just bought a better one though, which has air threading. It’s still in the box though, as I’m in the process of tidying up to make room. I also have to sell the old one to justify the new one (plus I don’t have room to keep both).

TheNorthWestPawsage · 24/02/2019 09:32

Nearly a full thread and I've only just found you! Another old 'un here who was taught 'tailors tacks'. The pebbles holding down the patterns worry me - how do they not move around?

Halsall · 24/02/2019 09:50

Yes, that's a good little trick, neddle - I tried it last time I wanted to change thread colours and it worked, hooray! You just have to make the knot very tiny and go veeeeerrry carefully and slowly till it's through the needle.

Very envious of the air-threading machine though.

TheNothWest - tailors tacks - yes! I always do these. And pin the patterns down (although I trace them onto sewable tracing paper so I don't have to mess up the original pattern too much).

I wasn't sure how I would find Joe but I have actually been enjoying it. He is subtle but funny. I feared he would be in your face and over the top.

SchadenfreudePersonified · 25/02/2019 18:40

Just moving to the top of my threads, ready for Top Stitch Tuesday! Grin

FuzzyPuffling · 25/02/2019 19:10

It's the only decent thing on telly at the mo. I sat through Dancing on Ice yesterday. If it wasn't for the pithy comments of the MN thread I would have given that one up weeks ago!

More sewing on telly please. Are you listening Beeb?

dontcallmelen · 26/02/2019 10:29

Just making sure I’m ready for later.

SchadenfreudePersonified · 26/02/2019 17:27

Getting ridiculously excited!

iklboo · 26/02/2019 17:28

dontcallmelen · 26/02/2019 17:30

iklboo · 26/02/2019 17:35

DS has made scones at school. DH is bringing in clotted cream. Mmmm.

SchadenfreudePersonified · 26/02/2019 17:54

You know ladies - it takes so little to keep a woman happy, doesn't it?

Tea

Cake

Scones

The Sewing Bee

Life doesn't get any better than this . . .

Wolfcub · 26/02/2019 18:03

Looking forward to tonight’s show

LIZS · 26/02/2019 18:06
