Strictly veterans - if a pro has been given a celebrity partner for a previous year, are they then basically guaranteed to always get one, or could for example Graziano or Anton not get given one next year?

I really want Johannes or Neil to get one next year, but was wondering if one of the other current male pros would have to quit first or if they're in with a chance.

The only pro I know who was ever 'benched' having had a partner already was Joanne who had a year out doing fluff bits on ITT after being paired with Scott Mills in her first year. After the year she was benched she then returned to win with Ore.
Robin was benched too but only after having had a year off with a shoulder injury when he was replaced by Trent for one year who, despite having choreoed Joe's AT and salsa this year so there cannot be too much ill feeling there, only did one year rumours have it because his wife Jordanna was not signed up (she, intrerestingly, did CIN with Boyzone this year).
I cannot imagine Anton ever being benched rather than let go, especially as he does not do a lot in the pro dances currently.
Grazziano should be replaced by Johannes imho but then there might be cries of it being unfair to Neil again (although if all height-related then the two would be paired with different partners anyway).
That said, some criticized Neil's footwork on the Xmas special and it could be that, in the same way Chloe was signed on as a spare when they really wanted AJ...that Neil was signed up as they only really wanted Katya.

I liked Aljaz when he was new but he's gone a bit goofy. And he never corrects his gapping in the quickstep
He's a solid dancer but I find his routines a biy samey down to the choreo and theming. I wouldn't mind him and Janette being swapped out for a while, probably won't happen due to popularity. That and he's good with duffers.

Ditto Karen and Kevin. Kind of hoping they won't return. Karen hasn't looked happy all season and I'm really hopeful Kev will finish on a high and not return
Kevin and Joanne seem to be branching out into theatre/west end. I bet the pay is better with the right connections!

I love Pasha but he's seemed over it this year I haven't really found him enjoyable to watch.
I thought he'd have a great partnership with Ashley but there was no chemistry. I'm wondering if she was really overbearing/trying to dictate the choreo behind the scenes

I'm quite happy that Aston won. He was right when he said he had unfinished Strictly business; he was booted out way too soon. I liked Anita as well though. And Jake, who I think could have got further in the main show if they hadn't given him stupid dances like the Greek Argentine Tango

They only use dancers who have been knocked out or are the extras due to rehearsal time. The Christmas Day show is recorded before the main show final I believe. The same with the Children in Need show.

I wouldn't be surprised if they have a baby soon with how broody Aljaz seems over his niece.. so maybe Janette would have a year off then?

I was wondering whether Janette and Aljaz might have a baby. He's really broody and she's 35 to his 28, so that clock must be ticking a little bit louder.

Has anyone read the news about AJ & his brother Curtis (whose also a dancer) They've both been beaten up in a nightclub, by a group of men. How horrible it looks like Curtis is also having to have an operation for some of his injuries.

Bloody hell - that sounds horrific. Nantwich 2am Boxing day...Curtis has had to have an emergency knee op and cannot take part in irish DWTS. This is his career ffs. AJ got kicked in the head and had to pull his brother to safety. 8 against 2 allegedly and for what? because AJ was having selfies with fans? is his what the world has come to? I despair.

I saw that too coveting. I hope they make a full recovery.

Pashas leaving strictly, not feeling too surprised about the news, felt it's been coming for a while. Sad to see him leave, but hope this will mean Neil will finally get a chance.

When do they usually announce if there's going to be any new dancers?
I wonder if any of the other pros will leave. With Gorka & Gemma expecting I wonder if he will step back and not have a celeb this year.
