With Cathy, I think she is the type to turn nasty when her position as queen bee is threatened but they've overplayed it a bit. I think its spot on more than it's off. Christine is just brilliant, I know a few in rl unfortunately

I like two doors down but Cathy is just nasty in this series.

I spend the whole time tittering at the specificity of the Glasgow humour in some of the one liners. DH (not Scottish) likes it, too, but doesn't get it on quite the same level as me!
I thought it would annoy me that two of the main cast are not actually Scottish (presumably they are of heritage) but I let them off as their accents are very good.

Which two aren't Scottish?

Doon MacKichan (believe it or not!)and Arabella Weir both sound v English in RL!

Doon has the fake Newton Means accent to a tee, even more impressive that she's English.

I think it's because people from Newton Mearns try to sound English!

She did live in Fife as a teenager, I am informed by Wikipedia.

Doon McKichan lived in Scotland as a teenager but was born in England went back for uni I think.
Don't think Arabella Weir has any Scottish background.

Lost this thread the last couple of episodes have had me laughing Mondays I was like noooo the rug then Louise showed up and punched Cathy in the face did we all die of the cringe when Christine was talking about the disabled people she knew ?

Beths accent is fine she sounds like she grew up in Dunblane

It wasn't a reference to bulimia. Colin said that she hadn't had much to eat because she wanted to leave room for more wine. Then she was being sick and had clearly had too much wine.

Cathy clearly doesn't eat though if there is any food on the go she always turns her nose up at it and downs the wine and vapes.

Cathy is superbly grotesque. Can imagine the AIBU from Beth 'My snobby neighbours turn up without invitation or prior warning and stay for hours and criticise everything - how do I stop them?'

Loved the episode where Gordon's Mum and Dad visited 'Any other homosexuals in your family, Sandra, or is it just him?'

I just don't understand why Beth opens her front door I would sit in another room watching tv with subtitles. I reme ber meeting a Cathy at a BBQ she was horrific ive been in her company twice she is the oddest woman who just talks to them men.

I did cringe at Christine listing all the disabled folk she knows. I wonder if she should have got a punch as well I'm finding Michelle is getting better too, she was a bit wooden the first few episodes. I'm shocked Arabelle Weir isn't Scottish. I think she sounds great.

I loved this weeks episode, it was the best. Cathy gets her just dessert.

I think everyone knows a CAthy, a Beth and we all know a Christine. Well, in Scotland, there are definitely English equivalents.

GOing against the grain. I've stopped watching it as Cathy's character has just got out of hand. It spoils it. The others are great. I used to enjoy it.

My husband has stopped watching it too he can't stand her
