Although I can't think about January yet...

I'm still in denial it's nearly December- which means ds will be 16 , and I will be 47 and another year will be over.

Hope he is at Wimbledon. Sue will make him cry for sure!

PrivateParkin · 14/01/2019 12:26

private apparently, he's some old Swiss guy that Dan Evans is going to beat in the next round Grin

JaneJeffer · 14/01/2019 12:28

I loved when Andy said he had a good career considering Petch was his first coach Grin

Raahh · 14/01/2019 12:30

Jane I saw that before.

I love Rafa Grin

Where do they get the journalists from? Grin

OP posts:
JaneJeffer · 14/01/2019 12:32

I think they're rejects from Journalism School Grin

Raahh · 14/01/2019 12:34

Jane she couldn't even blame being tired.

Since Rafa played in the afternoon. Grin

Yes that was v funny Jane "considering" Grin but Petchey pressed on with the video regardless - it didn't feel like that was the way Andy wanted that interview to go.

Kazza good luck to this Roger character against Dan Evans!

PrivateParkin · 14/01/2019 12:39

Yes I guess we'd all better get on with our chores Raahh!

kazzaD66 · 14/01/2019 12:45

Should be a less stressful and less time consuming morning tomorrow Grin

PrivateParkin · 14/01/2019 12:47

Gulbis v Stan tomorrow! Really looking forward to that although not sure what time it's on. Paire v Thiem could be good as well.

Raahh · 14/01/2019 13:08

Gulbis v Stan is definitely one I would have loved to watch, but it's not one that is likely to be shownSad.

Paire v Thiem could be good too- but it depends on which Benoit turns up Grin and whether he is awake.

Speaking of temperamental- Monfils went through fairly easily. Seemingly so shenanigans. Grin

Oh yes they might not show it might they? I keep assuming there's a red button type set up. I know there is Eurosport player but I don't know if I can be bothered to set it up... Especially if the match is overnight. Will see. That's an interesting bit of the draw with Zverev in there as well.

Hopefully Benoit has been taking some jet lag remedies or something!

PrivateParkin · 14/01/2019 18:48

Just looking at the draw: Rafa plays an Aussie next (Matt Ebden) so maybe a night match? Hope so.

JaneJeffer · 14/01/2019 20:43

Heather Watson is out. I can't remember if someone mentioned that already. And Mattek-Sands is gone too. I like her. She always has crazy-in-a-good-way outfits unlike Serena

Raahh · 14/01/2019 21:59

Poor Heather- there was a time when she was doing so well- then she got glandular fever, didn't she? She has her moments, but just can't keep up momentum

And whatever happened to Laura Robson?

OP posts:
Raahh · 14/01/2019 22:01

I liked BTS and her sense od style- however wacky. At least it was genuine- and not just because she's a rubbish designer.

I wonder whether she has go over that horrible knee injury properly? In doubles , she was doing really well before that (mixed with Jack Sock, iirc).

Private I will be very miffed if Rafa isn't playing at night on Wednesday- whatever else, he's still the second seed.

Of course, being in the same half as Federer means he will probably end up either a) not on Laver or b) in the afternoon.

Remember when Heather almost beat Serena at Wimbledon?? I feel like I haven't seen much of her since then. Laura Robson had a really bad wrist injury, not sure if she had surgery or not. I don't even know if she is still playing/rehabbing or officially retired.

I like BMS. God that knee injury was horrific, remember Safarova crying at the scene? It was awful. Didn't BMS win a slam with Jamie though last year? Or am I imagining that? (I could obviously check these things before I post!)

Raahh · 14/01/2019 22:30

I think she won the US open with him. So maybe her knee is okGrin.

She has found her 'thing' with doubles, which happens. Also she's getting on a bit at 33/2 ?

OP posts:
kazzaD66 · 14/01/2019 22:31

Apparently Heather wants to work with a psychologist because she has recognised that she needs help with the mental side of her game. I remember when she nearly beat Serena. DH and I were on No 2 Court and could hear the cheers coming all the way across from Centre Court. I think we were meant to be watching Venus at the time Grin
