Although I can't think about January yet...

I'm still in denial it's nearly December- which means ds will be 16 , and I will be 47 and another year will be over.

I missed that Isner had gone out.....good for those in his section of the draw.

PrivateParkin · 14/01/2019 09:43

X-post Raahh! RBA seems like a nice guy. Mats was reminding everyone earlier that RBA's had a tough time himself recently as his mum died suddenly last year. Sad

Kazza I would've thought a Slam win would be worth more points but not sure. Those two are playing doubles together at the AO aren't they?!

Raahh · 14/01/2019 09:46

mama I've always felt exactly the same about Murray, and I can't be a hypocrite now. GrinI still don't like to see a player end like this - or is it better than fading away? I'm not sure.

I feel quite sorry for Busta Gut, really, although he will win this.

Well that brought tears to my eyes!! Great stuff from Andy and great response from the crowd.

Raahh · 14/01/2019 09:47

Private she did. Sad

He is another who had a good, solid end to 2017, but last year didn't go so well.

Yes he won in Doha, didn't he beat Djok? He's no slouch, that's for sure.

Nice to see Jamie watching this match.

kazzaD66 · 14/01/2019 09:52

Private yes, if I had to guess, I would think winning a first round GS was probably better. I know they are doubles partners but have no idea if they are playing here, although again, I'm guessing they would Hmm
As you can tell, I know naathing (said in a faux Spanish accent, a la Manuel!). Speaking of Spaniards, did I see Deliciano is also out? Not a good day for Judy, then Grin

Raahh · 14/01/2019 09:52

In terms of ranking points, the Auckland event was a 250, so if he got to the QF, Norrie would have got 45 points? You get that for the second round of GS, I think.

Having no luck with my TV so I'm just following scores.

I hear there's going to be a statue of Andy at Wimbledon!

Raahh · 14/01/2019 09:58

Jane I read that- and as reminded of my one and only Wimbledon trip (25 years ago now!)- and I was struck by how small the statue od Fred Perry is. From the way the tv always shot it, I thought it was life size Grin.

Ah is Lopez out? Sad Sad to hear that.

I see DeMinaur is through. There wasn't much let-up for him was there, he just won in Sydney on Sunday then played Monday afternoon?! I think he's due to face Rafa if they both get through but he may well have run out of steam before then...

PrivateParkin · 14/01/2019 10:01

And they are putting up a statue of Roger under its own little roof Grin
Kidding!!

I love the idea of a Murray statue. Perhaps they should make it of Andy, Jamie and Judy!!

Raahh · 14/01/2019 10:01

I do like AdeM, but as Rafa joked after his win- he hopes this year isn't going to be the year for the young guns, not yet. Grin.

(Though if Rafa doesn't win, I'd love to see Stefanos win it).

Thanks Raahh so maybe beating Fritz last week and getting to the final was better for Norrie, if not as high profile perhaps.

PrivateParkin · 14/01/2019 10:04

Yes, same here Raahh - that would be great. I do think AdeM might not be able to keep this streak going - although he is an energetic youngster so who knows?

kazzaD66 · 14/01/2019 10:06

I see Cilic has just won the first set against Tomic, who's an even bigger Aussie tosser than Kyrgios, if that's possible Hmm

Raahh · 14/01/2019 10:08

Kazza at least Kyrgios has some results to back up his bluster.

Tomic just has an annoying dad Grin.

kazza Grin I want to watch that match but am sticking with Murray for now.

Raahh · 14/01/2019 10:10

My dog is itching for a walk, and being really annoying.

It's his birthday. Grin

i just want to watch the tennis in peace .Grin

Can Murray last 5 sets though?

OP posts:
PrivateParkin · 14/01/2019 10:17

I think adrenaline could keep him going Raahh if he could win this set, his body language looks v positive at the moment! We'll see.

Many happy returns Raahh dog Grin

PrivateParkin · 14/01/2019 10:18

These bloody betting ads are driving me nuts Hmm

JaneJeffer · 14/01/2019 10:20

I've managed to get my telly box working at last. The WiFi wasn't connected. Luckily my boys aren't here to roll their eyes at me.

PrivateParkin · 14/01/2019 10:22
