In what way do you feel differently about the scenes ilove?

Rhubarb01 · 13/12/2018 21:40

Barsha's words resonate with CJ - the bit about not being able to control things and staring down the end of a tunnel.

Ilovelblue · 13/12/2018 21:41

I suppose I thought they weren't very well acted (and still think that) but now I know that from what we've read, CJ was criticising the way the story took a different direction.

St times Georgie is incredibly naive.

Rhubarb01 · 13/12/2018 21:43

Yes, it does seem somewhat forced to fit the change of direction and I suppose that's what annoyed us so much - being out of character.

Chowdrey uses the "We are not wholly bad or good" line.

eejittwo · 13/12/2018 21:45

There’s never been any explanation - other than the change of producer - why the direction changed.

Rhubarb01 · 13/12/2018 21:48

ooh watch out the girls are on tour!

Ilovelblue · 13/12/2018 21:49

To us aficionados, it was so obvious that something strange had happened in the background, wasn't it?

Sumon is a lovely little boy. I don't think they bother with child seats there!

Love is the best....

Rhubarb01 · 13/12/2018 21:50

Bit of drama and action here, at last.

eejittwo · 13/12/2018 21:50

Approve of Georgie’s faith in paper maps.

Ilovelblue · 13/12/2018 21:51

Heart in mouth in these scenes.

Quick thinking there from Maisie.

Rhubarb01 · 13/12/2018 21:52

CJ to the rescue...again!

Rhubarb01 · 13/12/2018 21:53

CJ sounds panicky again.

eejittwo · 13/12/2018 21:54

This is one of the few decent bits of the series.

Ilovelblue · 13/12/2018 21:55

I did wonder if Georgie and Maisie + little boy were going to be kidnapped here.

At least the writers had the sense not to do a third hostage plot!

Rhubarb01 · 13/12/2018 21:58

A bit of real drama and menace there.

Ilovelblue · 13/12/2018 21:58

So......................... same time next Thursday?

What on earth are we going to do after this? We need to keep the momentum going in some way.

Oh well, time for ghosts.

Rhubarb01 · 13/12/2018 22:04

I'm dreading the last episode - mainly because of CJ and Georgie as I just hate everything about that storyline now. I like the Rab and Maisie bits though.

Actually, I'm increasingly wishing we could have an OG reboot with a new cast. I very much doubt it will happen but it would be an interesting comparison and nice to get to know some entirely different characters.

Rhubarb01 · 13/12/2018 22:06

ilove perhaps we need to find a new boxset of something - with lots of episodes - and start on that.

eejittwo · 13/12/2018 22:07

Love 'Ghosts'. It would make a really good series too - if LP could be dragged away from his current contract. Shades (!) of Randall and Hopkirk Deceased, if anyone else is old enough to remember ... (I saw the repeats Grin),

Rhubarb01 · 13/12/2018 22:11

I recall Randall and Hopkirk Deceased from my very young years. The ghost wore a white suit to identify him. Wasn't there a remake in the 90's? Was it Bob Mortimer and Vic Reeves or am I just making it up.

Ilovelblue · 13/12/2018 22:26

I knew of Randall and Hopkirk Deceased but never actually remember watching it.

Rhu I won't be able to do a Strictly watchalong on Saturday sadly because my friend will be over watching with me and she has no idea about my little MN secret. Are you looking forward to it?
