I reckon there could be a whole swarm of insects living in Spanner's beard!

I do think Bones is quite believable and watching this through again, I don't find him quite as despicable as I have done in the past. I'd still like to know why he hates the Brigadier so much though.

My problem is I can't stand Bones and nothing has changed my opinion -however, I would like to have seen his character develop and find out why he acts the way he does.

I wonder why they only had him for a few episodes? I wonder what changed? Although TG said he wasn't going to replace Elvis as such, he was supposed to be eye candy I think.

Just re-reading some of our comments and you are right Rhu that we do seem to have quite different views on this episode.

I don't think any officer would be as rude as Bones is. The man has such a well of suppressed anger and we never find out why.

The disappeared post was suggesting that we weren't really watching different episodes, rather I can see now how they were setting Bones up, but then a new producer came on board and turned it into a soap. Several storylines are floated in that episode and nothing ever happens to them.
As for next week, I can manage any evening except Monday, May be Tuesday and Thursday would work?
Oh, and yes, Bones could do with an anger management course, but even 2 Section reckon he's been good for them, come a couple of episodes!

I think you're right about Bones eejit. There was a whole story there about him taking control of Two Section, behaving like a mean sonofa... the whole time , but winning them round eventually, maybe going on a mission which bonds them and perhaps getting to see more of the man who briefly appeared at the end of the Nigeria episode as well as finding out why he hates the Brig/authority so much - it can't all be down to that 'Sword of Honour', surely. Coupled with that we had the potential awkwardness of Bones being Georgie's Captain after he'd tried to persuade her into 'sharing some scotch' with him. To be honest, if CJ hadn't returned, we would have had the natural successor who could have turned into more of a rounded character. Unfortunately, by the time he exits the series, I still didn't really care at all.

I agree with both of your assessments about Bones and the way the series might have gone, had a new producer not come on board. I wonder why they changed producers anyway?

Magi it's great if BA is going to be back in Fleabag! Where did you read that? The last time Fleabag was mentioned somewhere (and I can't remember where now), I was sure BA's name wasn't in the next series.

Ilove - It was on Instagram yesterday. The "Our Girl Army" follow BA's comings and goings and they said it had been announced that he is returning to Fleabag in the same role. Not a major time in it though was implied.

Ladies - are we meeting at 9pm tomorrow night for the first Bangladesh episode?
