Did anybody watch the first episode tonight? Dysfunctional in more ways than one.

I’ve tried to listen to the last part of tonight’s episode again and again but can’t quite make out what he said as he got into the private jet. Was it that he’s done the hard bit in negotiating and now it’s for his son Paul to pay..??

whatsthestory123 · 17/10/2018 22:28

yes thats what he said

Justfivemoreminutesplease · 17/10/2018 22:41

Ah thank you. And is that payback for the son’s outburst earlier? I assume Mr Mafia’s warning about not falling out with his sons has some significance or not?!? And I froze the credits - I thought I recognised her - Sophie Winkleman is in it as well as Margot, one of the ‘wives’.
Throughly enjoying it!

elephantoverthehill · 17/10/2018 22:46

I wonder if the pregnant concubine will be 'sold' to the Mafia boss who has no children or sons. Or may be I have too much of an imagination.

whatsthestory123 · 17/10/2018 22:54

diddl · 18/10/2018 08:48

I wonder how much is dramatised?

JPG flying out to meet the kidnappers-really??

StableGenius · 18/10/2018 10:06

Mild spoiler-ish alert

Yes, diddle, seems a bit unlikely given how jumpy they all were later about young JPG knowing what they looked like Confused.

JPGIII and his mum look so alike

Late reply but I was thinking the same thing! In so many scenes he really looked like he could be Hilary Swank's son, especially around the mouth! And he's gorgeous, which makes me feel a bit pervy considering the character is only meant to be a teenager!

IcedPurple · 24/10/2018 20:08

I've deliberately kept away from reading about the real-life story until the series is over, but from what I've heard a LOT has been invented. I'd imagine the story of JPG1 flying out to Rome to meet the kidnappers certainly has been, and so has the episode 5 'great escape' plot line. Kind of annoys me in one way, but I guess when you've got to get 10 episodes out of a one-focus story, you have to be a bit creative. I'm enjoying 'Trust' but think it might have been better with fewer episodes.

Just started watching this. Enjoying it so far

Lottapianos · 15/11/2018 09:26

Did anyone else stick with this until the end? I really enjoyed it, although think it could have been trimmed down to 8 episodes instead of 10. I found it very sad, very funny, very entertaining, and all the acting was marvellous, apart from Donald Sutherland who was GLORIOUS.

HouseOfMouse · 15/11/2018 15:00

I loved it and I’m glad I stuck with it. The casting was great, including the Italian actors I thought. I didn’t mind that it stretched out a bit.

DesdemonasHandkerchief · 15/11/2018 17:58

I loved it too, but did find the butler subplot surplus to requirements Hmm

Lottapianos · 15/11/2018 18:12

I enjoyed that Desdemona, he was a lovely character. I really enjoyed his final scene last night
