Grin

I can't believe it's nearly September, really. I'm sure the Australian open has just finished. Grin

I'm going to spend the morning labelling school uniform . I really am.

I probably won't

There are some incredible shots happening in this match. And Kyrgios has finally decided to show up.

Fizzywinegum · 01/09/2018 20:56

Was that federer shot around the net even legal in tennis terms? I guess it must be.

PrivateParkin · 01/09/2018 20:57

Yes it's allowed, strangely. Richard Gasquet hit a great one against Kyrgios at Wimbledon once

Fizzywinegum · 01/09/2018 21:02

It looked amazing Parkin but I just assumed the ball had to go over the net.

Amazon prime now has a description of which matches are going to be on each court now. They don’t tell you which match is actually showing at a particular time but I guess that’s more progress? They must have been watching this thread Smile

Fizzywinegum · 01/09/2018 21:11

Ooh and Federer goes through in straight sets

ferrier · 01/09/2018 21:15

What a fantastic win! And in such style. Wonderful shot making from both (at times). And a real confidence boosting win for Federer after a season when he hasn't seemed at his best for a lot of it.

ferrier · 01/09/2018 21:17

I think Stan hit one of those round the net shots too. And maybe Andy.
Here we go:

PrivateParkin · 01/09/2018 21:19

Yes they must have been Fizzy! They know where it's at Grin

I was expecting kyrgios to make that a bit closer tbh. Still, I'm glad Fed went through.

Not too excited about anything else on today, I think I'll have an early night. Djokovic plays Gasquet later but I'd expect djok to win that. I'd love to see Gasquet just go for it and win it, but it probably won't happen. Prove me wrong Richard!

Fizzywinegum · 01/09/2018 21:21

I didn’t see all of the match Ferrier but that shot was pretty impressive - I also liked Rogers post match interview. I’m not sure I believed that he didn’t really plan that point but I liked his explanation and his reaction to it.

JaneJeffer · 01/09/2018 21:21

Yay glad Roger beat him!

Raahh · 01/09/2018 21:22

Private this is the day I had decided I could have an early night because none of the matches were ones I wanted to watch- and at the moment, I feel wide awake.Grin

Typical. Grin

The X Factor effect Raahh Grin

Fizzywinegum · 01/09/2018 21:26

Zverev has just come on now - I was also planning an early night. I know that I definitely won’t be watching Djokovic against Gasquet later on. Would also like Gasquet to win but don’t think that’s going to happen.

Raahh · 01/09/2018 21:29

Jane you are probably right! Grin

Amazon Prime have only to look at their own reviews of the coverage to find out what's needed! Averaging 1 and that's only because you can't give a 0 rating!

Fizzywinegum · 01/09/2018 21:34

Apparently Lendl is already curtailing Zverev’s trips into Manhattan during the us open - should be an interesting partnership Smile

Raahh · 01/09/2018 21:38

FIzzy Grin
Sascha might not like that. But if it gets results... Grin

Fizzywinegum · 01/09/2018 21:55

Yes Raahh I think that’s the idea Grin

Just seen that Rafa is on Arthur Ashe first tomorrow so about 5pm uk time and Thiem v Anderson on at about 4pm on Louis Armstrong.

Delpo not on until later though.

MirandaWest · 01/09/2018 21:59

Am very glad Federer won Smile

MajesticWhine · 02/09/2018 00:16

Anyone still up? I'm just settling down to watch Shrieky against Ostapenko.

Raahh · 02/09/2018 05:05

I was woken up by the dog- so thought I'd check the results.

Cilic ( as I ecpected) is still playing. what I didn't expect to see is that he is 2 sets down...Alex dd1 Minaur is one of the up and coming players, though. But a nightmare ( again) for Cilic.

Zverev is out. I'm not actually that surprised that Kohlshreiber beat him. I think Philip is a good player, but it would be easy for Sascha to underestimate him.

And Kerber is out.

Raahh · 02/09/2018 05:06

stupid autocorrect! Alex de Minaur!!

MirandaWest · 02/09/2018 06:46

Into a fifth set - wonder how many people they get there at this time in the night?

PrivateParkin · 02/09/2018 07:04

I'm watching as well! Marin is living dangerously isn't he?! He was 5-1 down in the first set of the first (? I think) round and then turned it round, although his opponent got injured... Can't remember who it was now...

PrivateParkin · 02/09/2018 07:05

Omg this ball bouncing...............................................................
