K-Drama recommendations

A K-drama thread was suggested on the Netflix subtitled gems thread so we can discuss in more depth without swamping the other thread. There are a lot of Korean films & boxsets on Netflix and I’m discovering the quality is variable, so I thought this would be a goid place to swap recommendations (and ‘avoids’). So far, I have hugely enjoyed:

• Something in the Rain
• Mr Sunshine (new episodes still dropping weekly)
• Live

Would also love to hear how closely these dramas represent real life in Korea from anyone who has lived there. Its fascinating learning about another culture.

By the by, subtitling on Argon was top notch. The subtitler even managed to get “awry” in.

Moon Lovers; Scarlet Heart Riyeo has sucked me right in with its preposterous wigs and scenery and story - it actually prefaces each ep by saying they have taken a creative approach to history
Modern day girl gets swept into circa 900 Goryea and caught up in palace life where a hideously scarred (but still gorgeous) prince and various other lovely young men are fighting for the throne. Much buckling of swashes and being swept onto horseback.

boatyardblues is it worth starting Argon considering the end? I do like things to be done & dusted.

What a grey rainy day, perfect for fire, tea, chocolate biscuits & kdrama!

Bettys 😭😭😭😢😭😢😭😢😭😢... Finally! They know who they are.. We get 10 mins of lovely fuzzies and all is well and now she's gone all weird on him and he doesn't understand why!! 😭😭😭... I'm practically shouting at the scream!... He looks soooo confused and hurt!...

I love the depiction of love /romance😍♥️... The male characters always seem to be more vulnerable and wear their hearts on their sleeves whether it's getting let down with love or the excitement and joy of it all... It's much more transparent!

Ep 11.... Pleeeeese don't tell me I'm going to have to endure 4 or 5 more eps of pretending not to care... It's soooo frustrating!... And poor Reporter Kim!! Please let him end up with Ha Ri... 😊

Ahhh! She Was Pretty is just soooo satisfying!! It's just gorgeous!... And PSJ is luvely!! And there was a bonus sighting of PHS at the celebrity launch! 😂😂😂
I'm thoroughly enjoying it! It's making me laugh with girlish Glee!!... And Siwon (he's completed his military service!!) is bonus swoons!! I hope he gets his happy ending!!

Haven't seen Kill Me Heal Me he is supporting cast in that I think. Witchs Romance isn’t that great but has some frisky moments in the beginning.

But fear not, just when you think you’ve seen all your crush’s work or they’ve gone off to do military service another hot bod turns up
