Let’s get June out of there!

If I was Nick, I don't think I'd be waiting around to find out.

BlessedBeTheFruitLoop · 17/08/2018 16:59

Nick could just deny everything, he's an eye sent to spy on Fred so I think he actually holds a lot more power in this situation than Fred does. Fred won't know that of course, because he thinks Nick is just his driver and dogsbody. He'll probably threaten him with the wall. Then Nick will be all "actually Freddy boy, I could have had you on that wall ages ago if I wanted to". I think Nick will either throw him under the bus now that June is gone and he has nothing to lose. Or maybe tell him he's an eye who has gathered a lot of dirt on him, and make a deal that they delay reporting June's escape (allowing het time to get away) in return for him forgetting what he knows.

viques · 18/08/2018 12:46

Eden and Isaac weren't "caught" as such though, they were betrayed by Edens deluded parents. Being young and naive they foolishly went where they trusted they would be safe.

June and Emily stand a better chance because the people who are helping them are doing so because they are doing it for a purpose, to undermine Gilead.

Tinkhasflown · 18/08/2018 16:49

As such a strong character I find it hard to imagine that they wouldn't bring AL back for S3. I just wonder if the attack will harden her or soften her!

MazDazzle · 19/08/2018 17:40

I wonder if Nick and Serena will gang up on Fred and testify against him?

MazDazzle · 19/08/2018 18:02

Agreed Tink. If they were going to bump her off it’d have gone straight through her heart, not her shoulder.

mizu · 19/08/2018 19:17

There is an episode tonight, right? Last one?????

legolimb · 19/08/2018 19:35

No mizu
Last Sunday was the final episode.

mizu · 19/08/2018 20:03

OMG did not realise, thanks for letting me know. I was reading this thread thinking 'it sounds like this was the final!' Grin

Got to say, it was absolutely brilliant, I have said it before and I'll say it again, best thing on TV EVER. I love everything about it and everyone in it.

Destinysdaughter · 19/08/2018 23:00

Has anyone seen Gilmore Girls? Was just watching it tonight and thought the daughter looked a bit familiar and OMG it’s the same actor who played Emily! Is a bit disconcerting knowing what happens to her...

ohdeardeardear · 20/08/2018 08:50

Can anyone tell me where to watch season 2? My friend wants to watch it but can only get from episode 7 on catch-up. She binge watched season 1 after me harping on about it Grin

MrStarkIDontFeelSoGood · 20/08/2018 09:04

That's why the creator often refers to Emily's storyline as "doing terrible things to Rory Gilmore" and made a point of doing so at The Emmys

vivariumvivariumsvivaria · 20/08/2018 19:09

Brilliant.

Love it and this thread.

Roll on next year.

Destinysdaughter · 20/08/2018 20:02

Another heads up for the excellent podcast Eyes on Gilead. I've really enjoyed listening to their analysis of the episodes. There are also interviews with Bruce Miller, the actress who plays Aunt Lydia and one of the female directors of the show.

speakfriendandenter · 21/08/2018 11:23

Loved reading this board while watching the series. Got an email recommending this book, thought I'd share. It is already making me twitchy, there is no way I could cope with only 100 words some days!

Have just downloaded the book, thanks for the recommendation! Been at a loss since THT finished. Roll on Outlander!

MyGastIsFlabbered · 22/08/2018 21:36

I've just caught up on the last 4 episodes. Wow. But I must admit I was yelling at June to get in the van at the end.

brokenshoes · 24/08/2018 13:30

I'm not sure if this has been mentioned already, but there was a lot of fire imagery throughout this series, plus the scene with June and Commander Waterford in the kitchen late at night, with him holding a massive knife.

I think some of us guessed at the time that knives and/or fire would be important, and I love how it all came together in the final episode.

EmpressOfSpartacus · 24/08/2018 16:06

That's a really interesting point, brokenshoes.

CruCru · 31/08/2018 11:57

Something is bugging me. Holly / Nichole was being bottle fed. However, she was able to latch on and breast feed after two months (ish) of being solely bottle fed. I thought that the ability to feed from the breast was a skill that bottle fed babies lost.

Sorry, I know that the show is over. It’s been bugging me for a little while.

inquiquotiokixul · 31/08/2018 13:13

Yeah that bugged me as well @CruCru but I put it down to dramatic convenience. There's loads of things in fiction that just wouldn't happen like that in real life.

Yecartmannew · 31/08/2018 17:02

My daughter had real trouble breastfeeding so from 4 days to 9 weeks she expressed and bottle fed my granddaughter. Unfortunately her supply also started to dry up and it looked like the only option was formula. She made one last ditch effort out of desperation really and got her back on the breast. Ended up feeling her till 15 months.

So it can be done! My gran daughter had a slight tongue and lip tie which we think caused the issues and by 9 weeks her mouth was big enough to compensate for the tie. But even so it was remarkable really. I an so proud of my daughter for not giving up incidentally. I think it would have defeated most people.

MrStarkIDontFeelSoGood · 18/09/2018 23:33

Did anyone watch the Emmys?

The 3 actresses nominated for one award (Ann, Alexis, Yvonne) gathered together to hear, none won but Ofglen was sitting on Aunt Lydia's knee!!! 😱

StationsMostBodaciousCreation · 19/09/2018 08:49

I haven’t seen it but I’ll look on YouTube.

What’s everyone watching to fill the THT void?

HannahnotAgnes · 19/09/2018 12:50

Bodyguard, This is Us & 911 - none as good as THT but they pass the time Smile
