OITNB series 6 *spoilers*

Just finished episode 6 and I’m really enjoying this series so far! Anyone else binging it?

I didn't think Madison's accent was horrendous for Boston but god it's a grating accent. (The actor is from California, not entirely sure why the accent was necessary to the plot?)

It was a real shame to have lost so many of the usual crew but it wouldn't have been credible to have had them all banged up in Max - how could they all have been accommodated? I hope somehow some of them will reappear next year.

I was cheering Piper's release mainly because she is so annoying. I assume we will see her next season. I'd also agree the next season should be the last, at least for a while.

Gutted for Taystee but what I don't understand is how the ballistics could have matched. Piscatella was shot by these guys with rifles, the gun in the prison was a pistol.

Did I miss something when they were planting the body in the pool?

tribpot I thought the same thing about piscatello and ballistics.

They did shoot Piscatella several times again when they’d moved his body but I don’t think it was with a rifle?!

They shot piscattella with the gun they found (with taystee's prints on) but surely the pepper bullet damage would have been obvious and raised questions!?

Watched 5 episodes so far. Missing a lot of the old characters.

The stormtrooper guy said after he shot Piscatella with the pistol that they’ll say Taystee shot him and then the younger guard was trying to shoot her back and in the chaos caught Piscatella (who was already dead). He also said to make sure to ask for a certain coroner as he will collaborate the story.
Are none of you concentrating?! Haha!

Which inmate is it that died during the riot? They mentioned a name but I didn't recognise it.

It was Poussey who was killed by one of the guards which then ‘started’ the riot... Kukudio is the one who died during the riot.

I just finished. I prefered it to the riot series. I liked Badison to start and then it got a bit repetitive.

Agree 'Badison' was awful, the accent and the character. She was more annoying than intimidating (I understand that was the point of her flashback but this is max security prison - surely all the other harder inmates would just laugh at her?). Pennsatucky in the first series was more terrifying - she at least threatened to shiv Piper - Madison tripped her over and put chewing gum in her hair?! I don't think any of the new characters were as interesting as the old ones we didn't see anything of.

Tastee (and Black Cindy)'s acting was amazing.

The coroner thing was interesting because it is very very different to the role of a coroner here - here it would be a forensic pathologist who identified the killing shot - also it would be incredibly hard to fake because of the number of people who are present. The coroner would never be expected to go anywhere near the body, and usually wouldn't carry out the inquest until all other legal proceedings had finished (i.e. Tastee's trial), often months-years later.

Has anyone worked out who snitched on who for causing the riot? Frieda named Red and Tastee, Cindy named Tastee, Nicki and Piper named Red, Gloria and Maria blamed each other, and I think Maria, Daya, and Red took plea deals rather than name anyone?

I watched it all with a hangover. I got really confused by young Barbara and Carol. I honestly thought there was a mother and two daughters. Totally didn't get young frieda either. As I said, hangover.

I hope it's the last series.

The actress who played daddy was in the voice in America and has an amazing singing voice

I told my husband that Daddy was one of the few women I've seen in my life who makes me feel all funny in my stomach. She's hot.

And maybe it's just because she is a counterpoint to Maddison, so there's a comparison, but she's fairly sympathetic.

andylion I thought she looked familiar too so looked her up. Her name is Nedra McClyde but I don’t recognise her from any of her shows listed on IMDb.

I really enjoyed this series. After the Gloria/Ruiz shower scene I was worried we'd have more horrible guard torture but it seemed to be less this series. Probably because they were letting inmates do it to each other!

Loved the new characters & the Barb Carol story was brilliant- full of suspense.

I was also sure Piper would somehow sabotage her own release so was shocked to see she actually got out.

Daya's mum is great "nobody LIKES kids!" Lol.

Freda is a great character, one of life's survivors & I wonder if Red will get to her eventually?

Dogget & Suzanne we're great together too. Nothing too depressing for them this season.

Tastee was the saddest bit, the contrast of her life with piper's is the bit that struck me at the end?

Anyone else fancy Caputo?

Thanks CaptainHammer. I imdb-ed her, saw As the World Turns and got all excited, but she was a production assistant on that.

I think my overall favourite this season was Gloria, but Aleida had the best lines.

Aleida: I'm going to have start wearing underwear?
