Our Girl and Captain James XLVIII

• Insp. Chowdry (but we are getting some of it in the last two ep.s)

Seems like there is material for a fanfiction story or three!

Nope. Not happy with this at all.

I'm very conflicted. On the one hand I could almost forgive CJ and Georgie because they're both so unhappy on the other I shed a tear for poor Molly and then felt a bit cheated by the lack of similar action in series 1.

Oh but this makes me so happy! I don’t know what spoilers are allowed?

Does anyone else feel a bit robbed that Lane started the series (even the last series) strong and 'I don't need a man' etc and then she fell to pieces over Elvis and now she's all fawning over 'Charlie' as soon as he batted his (rather lovely) eyes at her? It's all rather sudden isn't it ??!

Ok, I loved that ending - pure Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid. Do we think it's THE END???

Oh... not sure how I feel about that.

I'm still pondering. I don't know quite what I think.

I thought that was a great episode. Definitely the best of the last four. Loved Rab and Maisie finally getting together and have let the CJ and Georgie thing just wash over me. I still love series 1 and reckon CJ still loves Molly but that's the way it goes.

Really liked the SF boss too. He was really funny. Wouldn't have minded seeing more of him in the series.

Mind you I still think we were cruelly cheated of some bare chested CJ action in series 1 with Molly.

That's the end they chose? really?!

Edge of my seat hoping that they would all make it out alive!

Not sure yet how I feel, or what I think.
I do think that was THE END though!

Looks like that might be the cover all bases end in the event that there's no more series. No one died and some people had happy events to celebrate. Will reserve judgment on CJ and Georgie as I still don't think it would work.

Mind you, I think there's scope for a new Our Girl without Georgie or CJ. Might be interesting and different.

See we're pessimistic in our house and said they have no idea how deep that water is and could have all broken their spines on impact...

Um, there was a certain point this evening where I closed my eyes and visualised the boys arriving back in town from a helicopter - #stillmourning...
And what about Spanner’s beard? I thought that was staying on till Kilmarnock won the Cup or whatever.

I'm not sure I'm going to feel the same sense of loss I did at the end of the other series with this but I have enjoyed it in the main. In this particular episode, I was holding my breath a couple of times. Didn't like the ending though - them all jumping off a cliff was a bit cheesy I thought.

I had to laugh when we first saw Spanner busking in a street and thought of pixie when he had his beard shaved off.

Did anyone think the new SF boss had a look of Daniel Craig - or was it just me. He's definitely from the north west - I would guess somewhere like Bolton or Wigan. (Need to google him).

As for the CJ/Georgie thing, in the end it didn't bother me as much as I thought it would. When she took his t shirt off, I did wonder why we didn't see some of this action with CJ and Molly in Bath. (And half wished it was me!!)

As for a future series, I suppose it depends on the viewing figures as to whether or not the BBC commissions a new one? (Not that I know anything about stuff like this). I definitely don't think MK will want to do another series though.

After Rab proposed to Maisie, I did wonder if one of them was going to get blown to smithereens (shades of Georgie and Elvis in the Afghan scenes).

I need to stop pontificating.

PS: I did think it was strange that Georgie kept calling CJ Charlie (and it irritated me after a while) but that he only called her Georgie on a couple of occasions and it was Lane virtually all of the time. He is Charles really, not a Charlie. Elvis got away with calling him Charlie and it sounded right but not from Georgie.

Actually ilove my fears for one of them not making it kept changing throughout. At first I though it would be Rab because he was doing something dangerous undercover. Then when Maisie got blown off her feet I thought it would be her or Fingers. As soon as Monk got the news of being a dad I thought uh-oh and then CJ told Georgie to go in the MERT and she didn't and I suddenly thought she's going to get shot by some random bloke in the compound who's still got a gun as she sees the child safely off in the helicopter.

I was therefore relieved to see them all jump off a cliff. Seriously, though they might have been really badly injured doing that but let's not think about that and just imagine them suspended in the air for perpetuity.

Ilove I never liked her calling him Charlie either - but not because he’s Charles really but because I thought she was crossing boundaries she shouldn’t have been crossing. When she was trying to put distance between them, she should have been calling him Sir or Boss, not Charlie.

Never really liked any of her “bedroom scenes” and other than the last one with Elvis, didn’t think they were necessary. We’ve seen her with Elvis before their non-wedding, did we see her with Dr Dull? She cheated on Dr Dull with Elvis, slept with both Milan and Elvis and now Captain James.

I read a tweet earlier where someone said that it wasn’t just Molly that CJ was cheating on, but all of us! I feel like that too. I won’t be able to forget it happened but think that in my head, he’ll go home, admit he has PTSD, sort himself out, realise him and Georgie needed each other at that time, and only at that time and sort things out with Molly and have their HEA. Maybe her phone call last night wasn’t to say she needs the chest of drawers but to tell him she was pregnant but lost her bottle!

My last point for tonight - I know the programme has never been about CJ, but I don’t think his PTSD was put across very well. If I hadn’t read all the interviews before this series, I wouldn’t have picked up on it at all.
