Yes, France Ilove! Lots of packing to do first though...then 3 weeks close confinement with stroppy teens Confused

I think you have nailed it with decompression - totally agree!

Rhubarb01 · 23/07/2018 11:09

Morning. Well here we are on the cusp of something. All will be revealed by the end of Tuesdayfor better or worse! Hmm

If decompression looks like wishing Georgie had married Dr Dull, ended up barefoot in the kitchen with seven children around her and left Elvis for some other lucky lady to enjoy, whilst CJ ,mug of Rosabaya in hand, continued to enjoy happy moments telling Elvis (topless in the shower, of course) that Molly loves him - then I've got decompression too!! Grin

Rhubarb01 · 23/07/2018 11:20

One other thought...

Had the above occurred then the only medic CJ could have reached for in his hour of need would have been Ruby and judging by his reaction to Smurf's engagement ring moment in series 1 "That's very sweet of you and all Smurf but my feelings for you are purely platonic," that's not gonna happen any time soon!! Smile

Bonnefoi · 23/07/2018 14:27

Only good thing I can think of for the next 2 episodes is it hopefully will point the C.J./Georgie thing in one direction or another, finally. It’s getting too drawn out now.

If Lacey Turner isn’t ever returning, then the Molly storyline had to end somehow, but I’m still not on board with Georgie and C.J. Nope, not ever. 🤨. In that scenario I could even, at a pinch, deal with C.J. and Molly ending because of PTSD with no HEA, but the Georgie thing is just not working, no chemistry, bla, bla, bla. Plus crossing lines with a subordinate, not waiting until out of his chain of command, like series 1, is so not CJ. It’s like he’s had a personality transplant.

Could get onboard with Georgie and someone else, for example Spanner. But TBA the Georgie character with all running around doing her own thing like she’s in charge is getting annoying, and repetitive. Hmm

eejittwo · 23/07/2018 22:02

Well, well, well, ladies, what do you think of that! #stillmourningelvis!

Rhubarb01 · 23/07/2018 22:34

"Charlie" Angry "Charlie" Angry "Charlie" Angry

I do wish Maisie would keep her girly advice to herself even though she did compare Elvis to a guinea pig!

The moment Molly called CJ my hopes were suddenly raised until it turned into a conversation about furniture. Did she really call to discuss that? Honestly?

Not too bad an episode I suppose. I wish there had been more of the ambush/pursuit.

The comments on twitter are largely negative about CJ/Georgie and quite a few fears that one of them may pop their clogs tomorrow.

MarvellouslyMental · 23/07/2018 22:38

Not too sure eejit, other than Georgie loves CJ, but after that phone call, CJ clearly still loves Molly. Worried we are going to be left with a lot of loose ends tomorrow and we are all going to be massively disappointed. And I wish she would stop calling him Charlie. He is her Commanding Officer and, friends or not, surely that is not appropriate when they are on duty.

Rhubarb01 · 23/07/2018 22:49

Yes marvellous I thought there was something still there for CJ when Molly called him.

Given that Georgie still loves Elvis and cries when she thinks of him and CJ's clearly very down about the situation with Molly, there's no way that Georgie/CJ can be a good idea.

I'm a bit concerned too that this is going to be left up in the air at the end of tomorrow as well and who knows if there will be anymore? I've said it before but I wouldn't mind a new 'Our Girl' if there is another series.

One positive note - I still love Maisie and Rab, please let them have a tiny little snog at the end of tomorrow. Grin

Bonnefoi · 23/07/2018 23:09

I started watching it on fast forward after the chest of drawers conversation. It was that or the TV was going to have something launched at it.

I would have laughed if she asked for the Nespresso machine though.Grin

I’m going to miss it tomorrow due to being on a plane. Can’t say I’m a particularly bothered. Which is a shame. Confused

MarvellouslyMental · 23/07/2018 23:20

Someone new would be good. I was thinking that the series could have worked with each series having a different leading actress of different ranks and no love interests for the lead - been there did that with Molly. But yes, I really like Maisie and Rab too and would like to see their characters and relationship develop. CJ definitely trying to put on a brave face during that (bizarre chest of drawers) phone call from Molly. Guess we’ll just have to wait out and see what tomorrow brings and hope something brings CJ to his senses or at least gets help as agree that neither of them are in the right frame of mind for any relationship and it wouldn’t work. There were a few solemn looks from him tonight (I’d need to watch it again to remember when they were) that had me wondering what he was thinking.

MarvellouslyMental · 23/07/2018 23:25

Also, as we seem to be covering a lot of old ground from Series 1, I thought the “dramatics” would be tonight and we’d be left with another Series 1 ‘to be continued’ cliffhanger ending tonight!

Rhubarb01 · 23/07/2018 23:30

I'd got the impression there would be more happening tonight but from what I've seen in the blurb most of it is tomorrow.

eejittwo · 24/07/2018 06:57

Didn’t sleep well with the heat and spent some time thinking about last night. Did Georgie and Maisie really scarper, abandoning their guns? Not a good idea on so many levels, I’d have thought.

Herculesfan · 24/07/2018 07:06

Ah I have found my people. Such a big our girl fan. Although I’m not sure how I feel about CJ recently. It annoys me that he’s all over Georgie now, another tour, another medic to chase.

PaddingtonBearHardStare · 24/07/2018 08:20

See I think they're gearing off to kill off either Maisie or Rab tonight. The banter seemed to have stepped up a gear and that's usually an indication in these programmes, why can't they just let people live happily ever after although I guess they did initially with CJ and Molly and look what happened there

PaddingtonBearHardStare · 24/07/2018 08:20

Gearing up 👆🏻

Rhubarb01 · 24/07/2018 08:54

Morning! Welcome Hercules you are indeed in the right place!

I had a sneaky little watch again this morning and a few things occurred to me. In series 1 CJ is going through a divorce (not that we know it until episode 4) but his whole demeanour couldn't be different. OK perhaps he's not particularly affected by PTSD there as he obviously seems to be in this series and maybe he's much further down the line from the point of making the decision but it's not the first time he's gone away on tour to allow things to be sorted out in his absence and although he wasn't looking for someone else it didn't take him long to transfer his feelings (even though it was magical and we all loved it!)

Secondly, when they were questioning Inspector Chowdray and he mentioned not being "Wholly good" I thought of that Smurf moment with the Dylan Thomas poem "We are not wholly bad or good." Well, I suppose that is the truth as far as the inspector is concerned when you learn his motives for taking the money,

I also thought CJ started to sound panicked again as soon as they were out in pursuit/support of Georgie and Maisie. You could hear it in his voice. He's definitely not up to doing that stuff anymore and I reckon it brings back bad memories. There again, how many times has Georgie been kidnapped or ambushed before? Grin

As for Rab or Maisie not making it Paddington I can only think Shock. The thought had crossed my mind but that would really upset me again now that I've come to terms with the loss of Elvis and as for CJ, well, I think that would finish him off for good and he'd be a blubbering wreck. I'm not sure he could take another loss of one of his team. Now I feel very nervous for completely different reasons to just not liking the Georgie/CJ scenario.

JohnnyKarate · 24/07/2018 09:03

Just rejoining. I will be devastated if Rab or Maisie dies tonight.

Ilovelblue · 24/07/2018 10:19

Morning everyone. We're having a nice drop of rain here, much needed I have to say.

My friends went at a reasonable time last night so I was able to watch the OG episode before I went to bed (abandoned the washing up though). Oh dear, not sure what to think.

Putting aside the CJ/Georgie story (ok, I know it's a major part), I enjoyed last night's episode. It had me on the edge of my seat a couple of times and there's plenty of CJ in it. We have complained in the past that we've not seen enough of our favourite army captain. When we do our watchalong (whenever that is), there are a few things I could poke fun at but overall, I thought it was good.

As for the CJ/Georgie thread of the story, if I'd not watched the first series with Molly, I might even be hoping they get together but knowing what we do about CJ's marriage to Molly, if CJ and Georgie do become an item, surely it's a car crash waiting to happen. As I was watching on record, I had to wind back as I couldn't quite believe Molly was ringing him in the middle of the night about a chest of drawers! Does she know about the time difference? Come on TG, you can do better than that. Custody of the cat or dog, yes, but not a chest of drawers! Bonnefoi it couldn't be the Nespresso machine - doesn't he always take that on tour?!

I definitely don't think MK is going to do another series so it wouldn't be a bad thing to have a new central character.

I love Ruby, he's so cute.

I don't feel the same anticipation for the finale tonight as I did, say, for the episode where Elvis got blown up. Still mourning him.

Hercules welcome! We've been here nearly four years. Where have you been? :)

Twelve hours from now and it'll all be over. It would have been better if we hadn't had to squeeze two episodes in this week but that's football for you.

When are we doing the final watchalongs? Who's up for it? I can't do tomorrow night but it's a bit early possibly anyway.

Rhubarb01 · 24/07/2018 13:07

I read one funny comment on twitter - I think it was whajeb who said what are the odds that the moment Georgie steps off the plane in Brize Norton someone lobs a chest of drawers at her! Grin

Rhubarb01 · 24/07/2018 13:09

Sorry forgot to address the watchalong question ilove. Shall we split the episodes up and do possibly episode 7 on Friday and episode 8 on Sunday? Any thoughts anyone?

Bonnefoi · 24/07/2018 14:28

Iloveblue He has PTSD and an overly busy love life. He left the coffee machine at home this time and Molly has a mallet. Grin

Rhubarb01 · 24/07/2018 15:01

Yes, Bonnefoi and just to rub salt into the wound perhaps she should claim an amount in her divorce settlement for 'Purchase of Rosabaya capsules 2014'.

Rhubarb01 · 24/07/2018 17:00

Don't know if you will have seen this but it made me laugh and go ahhh! at the same time.

Off to watch last night's episode now ... (finally found subtitles for series 4, that I can attach to my recording!) Read all of your comments, but it left me confused. Not going to peek in here after tonight! See you on Friday?
