Yup bring on Mac playing kissy face with Ari and Colbes looking broody on the beach, that's what we want (lucky woman)

Colby is really growing on me.

I think lockdown's been going on too long Grin

TheOnlyLivingBoyInNewCross · 30/04/2020 07:28

Well, yesterday's 5* episode gave us a bit more insight into Leah's time with Douglas but - at the hospital he got into her car and she...agreed to drive off with him? WTAF? If I'm in a busy public place, and a strange man with no gun, no knife, gets into my car and won't leave - I think I'd just get out of the car and go and find the nearest source of help?!? Or simply lean on the horn until I attracted some attention!

CurbsideProphet · 30/04/2020 10:31

That sounds very weird. Definitely no weapon?

SleepingStandingUp · 30/04/2020 22:34

i thought the same, she needed to have mentioned a gun or a knife to make it reasonable. guy gets in your car, weedy as, says drive or else. id drive INTO the hospital grounds and get out there where its busy.
Even assuming she was shocked and not thinking, they then get to his house and he says go inside - why not run then? Leah could totally take him, she's always at the gym and he clearly needs help opening jars

But @SleepingStandingUp if she escaped too quickly she’d have had to curtail her Greek holiday 🤷🏻‍♀️

TheOnlyLivingBoyInNewCross · 01/05/2020 06:57

This is the problem I have with this storyline - done right, it would be a really important issue to tackle, but I can't believe the premise here: that Leah would go to the hospital on the say so of a man she'd never met before, even if she did believe the story about his wife - a woman she'd never met before. And how he gained such complete emotional control so quickly...

It would have been much more convincing if they'd depicted this happening in a relationship between an established couple, the husband becoming more and more coercive and eventually physically abusive too.

I don't really watch Eastenders, but the bits I've seen of Chantelle's relationship with Gray are much more terrifying and compelling.

I have discovered that I am a terrible person though, because even when Leah is traumatised and distressed, all I can think of is how terrible her lip fillers still look. I spent a whole scene the other day wondering why she'd had them done and whether she was happy with them or regretted them.

SleepingStandingUp · 01/05/2020 08:36

He could have at least posed as the wife, as she recognised the name. If the "woman" had called and was in distress Leah would have gone. Gets to the house, door is ajar, no answer, usual "oh ill just look inside" and then he'd grabbed her, knocked her out and she'd woke up locked up in the bedroom.

Show an attempt of her bashing him and running for the door but everything is locked up and she can't get out. Maybe he's putting drugs in her drinks to make her a bit woozy. House in middle of nowhere so her screaming and banging on windows doesn't work. Even if it's just done in flash back it would at least make it more believable retrospectively but I feel like they've lost the story tbh

CurbsideProphet · 01/05/2020 10:10

I completely agree. They missed an opportunity for a hard hitting grooming and coercion storyline. If it was just about the actress being on leave they should have had VJ falling seriously ill and her needing to visit.

AiryFairy1 · 01/05/2020 15:04

So much more realistic SL @SleepingStandingUp . Or a sick VJ would’ve been the easiest 🤷🏻‍♀️ Irene's gone off to visit various relatives we never see or hear about otherwise.

CurbsideProphet · 04/05/2020 22:06

Do we know what happens next with the creepy kidnapper? Will Colby lead a sting to bring down the men's group? Too many unanswered threads in that storyline. And yes @TheOnlyLivingBoyInNewCross I agree about Leah's lip fillers 😬

TheOnlyLivingBoyInNewCross · 04/05/2020 22:09

I haven't seen any spoilers about creepy kidnapper except for the fact Leah does one of those victim impact statements.

All the spoilers now are centred around the Astonis...

CurbsideProphet · 04/05/2020 23:01

Oh yes Ben's brother shows up!

SleepingStandingUp · 05/05/2020 19:01

Who da Daddy?

Reckon Leah does the statement and then thryll go off to court one day and thal be it.

TheOnlyLivingBoyInNewCross · 19/05/2020 08:25

I think it turns out that Ben is her dad but it sounds like it pretty much rips the family apart.

No one will be surprised to hear that Jasmine's pregnancy is a phantom one. I think she and Colby are about to re-investigate their spark in a sort of despairing, we're both having shit lives sort of way.

SleepingStandingUp · 19/05/2020 16:10

He'll have to get with Roo, it's always the friend

OP posts:
LHMBF · 19/05/2020 19:04

Is it a phantom one? I had a feeling she wouldn't be pregnant, thought it would be an illness of some kind or stress

SleepingStandingUp · 20/05/2020 10:45

Well spoilers say phantom one, but not sure officially the difference between that and one where you've just imagined you are. Periods late due to everything going on, off food due to stress, tired cos you're not eating. Suddenly decide you're pregnant so head space is better, suddenly ravenous to feed baby nut actually just because you've not been eating etc.

It says something about how she makes a big decision about Grace so I'm wondering if she's going to cut contact from them or if she tries to steal her or something?

OP posts:
LHMBF · 21/05/2020 10:11

Yeah I read on another spoilers site that it is a phantom pregnancy and she becomes obsessed with Grace to the point she's told to back off and she decides to leave Summer Bay. Who knows if she will

CurbsideProphet · 21/05/2020 10:36

Crikey that storyline takes a turn! I thought she would be pregnant and go off to live with Robbo's parents on the farm.

TheOnlyLivingBoyInNewCross · 21/05/2020 10:48

If she leaves and the Astonis leave, we're going to be a bit short on characters! Only half the Morgan family left too, so they can't prop up the entire plot as they've been doing for years.

Mind you, we have Ryder's dad turning up, and I'm still excited about the return of Angelo!

CurbsideProphet · 21/05/2020 14:06

I forgot about Angelo's return! I always liked him.

We never see the school now. Perhaps there will be a new family this year with teenagers? Unless Bella going to Tafe will bring new characters in?

SleepingStandingUp · 21/05/2020 17:52

The Paratas probably need a "home" so could perhaps rent the Astoni place once Tane is there.

I wanna know why the chilly hasn't made Mac move in, she lives in that swish apartment we never see now.

Tbh the school will only be reseen if a family of teachers moved in with kids. There's no school kids left

CurbsideProphet · 07/06/2020 15:46

What happens with Jasmine's pregnancy? @SleepingStandingUp I think you've seen Monday's episode already?

SleepingStandingUp · 08/06/2020 16:36

She isn't pregnant, it was a phantom pregnancy. She had a scan right at the end of the episode but there's nothing there. I feel really sad for her, I think her and Tori could have rocked the single Moms together thing
