Not much longer to wait out for the Nigeria episodes! Some of us are still mourning the death of Elvis.

I've heard that clip rhu but assumed that the funeral was held once they'd returned from Nepal, maybe 3 or 4 weeks later? It's not as if Elvis had anywhere else to be Grin
Apparently, BA and MK did an interview together this afternoon. Seen some stuff on instagram but can't find how you can listen back to it. Anyone else know anything about it?
Enjoy tonight! Here's hoping for a bigger role for CJ rather than just Georgie's replacement dad, half the time Confused

Magi84 · 05/06/2018 17:24

There seem to have been interviews all over the place, especially as MK has done WDYTYA. She was on the Andrew Marr show on Sunday and they even showed a bit of OG. Spoke quite well of it I thought.

Kazza I saw that bit on Instagram about the Build Series LDN interview and I believe they show videos of their stuff on their Instagram site so should be on there do sometime later.

Certainly looking forward to seeing how it all pans out in tonight's episode.

Only just found this thread and haven’t rtft yet but... wtf are you all on about at the start of the thread?! I’m lost!

Rhubarb01 · 05/06/2018 21:00

Hi Angel. sorry, about the strange start of the thread. This is a long running thread. We've been chatting for nearly four years but newbies are always very welcome.

We were having a 'watchalong' of the pilot programme where we all watch at the same time and chat at the same time We will probably have a watchalong later this week for the first episode of the new series but usually watch without commenting first and then have a chat afterwards.

Delphin · 05/06/2018 21:57

Beware! This is a cult! Grin (jk) Once you join you can never leave ... (hums "Hotel California" )
I am really looking forward to tomorrow evening (provided I can keep the eyes open after 2 hours of rowing). I will now close the OG forum tab in the browser ... see you all later!

eejittwo · 05/06/2018 21:59

Deja vu again!
And he's no competition for Elvis!

Rhubarb01 · 05/06/2018 22:02

Well...hmm!

Lots of banter from two section, CJ mentioned Sam and then looked pensive on the subject of children, Georgie is really pushing her luck with CJ. And yes, eejit a bit of deja vu creeping in.

Magi84 · 05/06/2018 22:05

Not sure what I think actually. Put it down to opening episodes always feel a bit iffy. Deja vue in spades!

Rhubarb01 · 05/06/2018 22:10

Oh, and the whole Brains issue - I found that a bit laughable. He's a sensitive soul, of course, but I was expecting PTSD or something. He's still carrying a big torch for Georgie, mind you, although I can't imagine her being bowled over by him any time soon.

eejittwo · 05/06/2018 22:11

Rhu - Grin

Magi84 · 05/06/2018 22:13

I thought PTSD for Brains too and really felt what they did come with for him to be so out of character was in fact a bit lame. Laughable is exactly right Rhu.

Ilovelblue · 05/06/2018 22:18

Evening everyone and welcome to Angel.

First things first. I enjoyed the banter - especially as we complained there wasn't enough of it in series 2 or 3. There was plenty of CJ - something else we complained about in series 2 - the lack of, I mean.

As for the last 10 minutes or so, it was rather predictable and reminiscent of a mixture of Nepal with Maisie and the lovely Thara and series 2 and the Kenyan kidnap.

Do we think the Brains story was purely incidental or do we think it may have some repercussions later on? Yes, I too was thinking PTSD.

Rhubarb01 · 05/06/2018 22:26

I wonder if Georgie being so understanding about Brains problems may lead to a Smurf moment later on when he thinks that her kindness extends further than she's saying. Watch out if they go near any more bridges or you see any goats. So far, goats haven't done too well in OG apart from the one who had his ears stroked by CJ.

Ilovelblue · 05/06/2018 22:27

When are we doing our watchalong please? Thursday?

OP posts:
Rhubarb01 · 05/06/2018 22:32

Thursday sounds OK for me.

I must confess to having a lump in my throat in the Elvis flashback moments!

eejittwo · 05/06/2018 22:35

Rhu - I was seriously worried about that donkey, and also about that pony startled by the armoured vehicles.
Lump in throat? I was wearing out the tissues at that bit!

Ilovelblue · 05/06/2018 22:44

In the Elvis flashbacks, I was taking a deep breath in case the last image we saw was after he'd been blown up. Thankfully, that didn't happen.

I had my friend's two little boys yesterday and we went out for the day by train. I have no idea why, but they kept calling me "Boss". It was really funny. They must have picked the saying up from somewhere, not sure where though. My mind obviously thought OG as soon as they said it first time round!

squidgesquodge · 05/06/2018 22:50

This wasn't too bad in my opinion. What was bad was my response to the kidnap which was "not Georgie again"!
It was nice to see a bit more of CJ although I am a bit concerned about the smiles he gave Maisie. I did get very excited that he & Molly had had a DS before remembering that he has a son from his first marriage. Is it going to be Brains/Georgie who have the Smurf story or Maisie/Rab? I thought CJ seemed much more together than he had at the end of the Nepal series. I agree about Brains. It was a bit of an anticlimax that it was "just" his parents divorcing as I don't see how they can expand that as a story in the way that they could have done with PTSD.

Rhubarb01 · 05/06/2018 22:52

Talking of 'Bossman' I thought Georgie was really taking advantage of their relationship when she kept pushing CJ to go looking for those girls and although he said 'no' he really wasn't adamant enough, or is Georgie just too unhinged to pay enough attention.

There was definite tension in his face after he finally made a reference to Sam. Was is regrets at never being around, a desire to have more children but troubles with himself and Molly and the fact that they're never in the same place at the same time. Perhaps it's CJ's turn to open up to Georgie about Molly. My guess is that if he tells anyone it will be her.

AngeloMysterioso · 05/06/2018 23:01

Did we know the CJ and Molly had a kid?

Ilovelblue · 05/06/2018 23:04

It is a rather strange relationship between CJ and Georgie. He was going to be best man at the wedding that never was, so I would assume she did know him before the wedding day, then there was the shared grief over Elvis' death so chain of command or not, it's more than a straightforward working relationship. I agree though Rhu that Georgie is pushing her luck with CJ.

OP posts:
Rhubarb01 · 05/06/2018 23:04

Angel we knew that CJ had a son from the first series but it looks as though he and Molly haven't had any children together....yet!

Rhubarb01 · 05/06/2018 23:08

Yes ilove I think there is a friendship of a kind between CJ and Georgie. I thought it was telling that not only did he come to meet her at the airfield but he took her bag from her and carried it to the van. I don't reckon and officer would normally do that for a mere corporal. It's a small thing but still speaks of friendship.

AngeloMysterioso · 05/06/2018 23:10

Ahhh, I’d forgotten about that. I assumed it meant he and Molly had a child

Ilovelblue · 05/06/2018 23:37

Ooops, they did show Elvis when he'd been blown up. I've decided to watch a bit of tonight's episode again and realised I missed the first few seconds! I came through from the kitchen where I'd been making a drink. as the music and cast came up.
