Not much longer to wait out for the Nigeria episodes! Some of us are still mourning the death of Elvis.

Just got back from dinner and can't believe what I'm reading! Was keeping tabs on end of Anderson /Isner match at dinner and now Nadal serving for second set. Obviously oblivious of BBC shenanigans back home. If now showing OG next Tuesday and then subsequent Tuesdays, maybe my recorder will work and record the 3 remaining eps - although not holding my breath!Hmm

Ilovelblue · 13/07/2018 21:47

How long are you away kazza?

At the minute my planner is still showing as episode 7 on Tuesday. They'd better not f up and show the wrong one Confused

AngeloMysterioso · 13/07/2018 22:20

So that’s twice they’ve put it off because of sports. And yet they decided the bloody Proms were worth saving?!

Bonnefoi · 14/07/2018 10:14

Still don’t understand why they can’t just had to the iPlayer? Annoying.

Bonnefoi · 14/07/2018 10:15

I mean add it. 🤦🏽‍♀️

JohnnyKarate · 15/07/2018 10:18

I've just been trying to read all your threads. I am aware I will never catch up and I am sad I haven't been here from the beginning because I'm just not as invested in CJ and molly as all of you are and I don't know why!!!

I do love both their characters though. Love molly even more after finally watching the pilot!

Delphin · 15/07/2018 13:29

Hello and Welcome @JohnnyKarate! I have read the first five threads when I found this, but then I gave up and jumped to the current one!

JohnnyKarate · 15/07/2018 21:09

Hi Delphin I started up on thread 6 I think and did not have a clue what was going on. Don't think I will make my way through 40 threads, but just happy to see there's somewhere I can discuss what's happened as no one I know watches it!

Ilovelblue · 15/07/2018 22:05

Hi Johnny welcome to our madness! There are four of us who post on here regularly (I think) who have been on it from the very beginning. Others have come and gone along the way. It all started when somebody posted along the lines of "Is anyone watching this rubbish?" I can't quite remember it now and whoever it was probably never expected us to be going 48 posts and nearly 4 years later!

Are you aware of the fanfiction site which has some fantastic stories about our favourite army captain and Molly? These stories are definitely keeping the romance of Charles and Molly alive.

Thanks Ilovelblue. I was wondering if I'd missed a special or something because although they were nice together I just didn't get the hype because we didn't get to know them as a couple. Will have a look at that site and maybe I will be converted Grin

Delphin · 16/07/2018 20:12

I still think the TV film from 2013 together with series 1 from 2014 are the best-told stories of the lot. I own them on DVD, series 2 to 4 I have only as digital recordings. I think the characters were more carefully drawn, as opposed to the recent series. Captain Azizi or Quaseem had about the same screentime as Bones per episode, but I always felt I knew a lot about them when I reached the last episode. Not so with Bones. He wasn't written in a way that allowed the viewer to get inside his heas, so to speak.

Magi84 · 17/07/2018 06:57

I agree Delphin the 2013 pilot film really gave you an insight to Molly's home life and in the end what the Army life did for her by creating some stability and giving her a different view in life. Then in series one that life changing situation continued, together with, as you mentioned people from different life cultures like Quaseem and Azzizi again showing her how things could impact on their way of life. It then of course went on with the love story which once more brought out other important ways. Somehow none of the following series have quite got that.

Series 2 I quite liked and maybe the whole thing should have finished there as since that one it seems to have lost its way.😥

Evening all! Back for OG episode 6 - take 2!

Welcome Johnny. Always good to have newbies on board!

Thanks for the above qwerty. I have to admit that I had seen all the blurbs for the remaining three episodes about a week ago. Given the delay to episode 6 and the fact that all the TV mags are now out for all the remaining weeks, I suppose we all have access to the plot and a few disturbing photos which are now in circulation. For those who don't want to know I won't say anything apart from the fact I have sort of resigned myself to the inevitable Georgie/CJ 'Will they-won't they' storyline that it seems we are destined to have.

Part of me understands it - if CJ and Molly are very wobbly, CJ is still affected by PTSD and Georgie isn't entirely in the best place either, I can see why they might be drawn together from shared history but I am still holding out hope that come the end of episode 8 Georgie will repeat her rather more liberating view of "Husbands who needs one - I've got a job to do" or something like that and tell CJ she's going it alone.

I reckon if there is another series it will be without MK and then Ruby will be the new medic and someone else entirely could be Our Girl. Not sure it should be Maisie as she's been around a while now. How about bringing in a female junior officer, possibly one who's a little bit unconventional and hasn't done the middle-class, private school route? That would be interesting - female authority, possible sexism (of course it doesn't happen in the army!!! Hmm) and now in charge of Two Section as CJ will have finally left and gone off to mend bridges with Molly and see his son. Go on TG, you know you want to. Grin.

Qwerty098 · 17/07/2018 20:37

Two episodes next week...

Rhubarb01 · 17/07/2018 20:48

Well that will make it a bit of a season finale...even if it is out of necessity rather than choice.

MarvellouslyMental · 17/07/2018 20:56

Am I alone in not looking forward to tonight’s episode? Like you, Rhu, I think we’re heading for the inevitable. Suddenly 3 episodes doesn’t seem long enough for CJ to sort his head out and get the help he needs, for the story line not to go down that route. Although I reread an earlier interview with TG today that suggests CJ has a lot of thinking to do about his future after this tour... Not sure about anyone else but I don’t think there will be any more episodes after this. I just hope all the loose ends are tied up neatly.

Rhubarb01 · 17/07/2018 21:08

You are not alone marvellous.

Why is Georgie being invited to a briefing in CJ's office????

OK, I'm going to watch it now.

Rhubarb01 · 17/07/2018 21:21

ooh nice bit of stern-face CJ today!!

Rhubarb01 · 17/07/2018 21:56

Sad Sad Sad Angry

Ilovelblue · 17/07/2018 21:59

Can't believe that this time next week it will all be over.

I agree with you Rhu that Georgie/MK won't be in it if there's another series.

Oh CJ, I expected better of you.

OP posts:
Rhubarb01 · 17/07/2018 22:00

I'm still maintaining that Georgie must end this series by going off an joining an NGO - no need for CJ or anyone other man.

As for CJ - for goodness sake, you obviously love Molly so go off an fight for it, don't just reach out for the next medic within reach.

Lots of quite nice CJ in this episode I just wish it hadn't ended on such a lame note!
