Anyone else excited about this tonight?

I'm cautiously optimistic.

I'll be watching. Keeping my mind open but I'm prepared to be disappointed.

I'll watch anything with Mary Berry!

I have jaffa cakes at the ready and am catching up on Aussie MKR to warm up.

I'm enjoying it so far

Love the Claudia / Mary combo

It is lovely to see people cooking normal food and not dust and pollen.

I really fancy a burger now

I'm finding the camera work a bit too choppy, like they are rushing me.

Love Claud and the judges though.

Liking the Masterchef Australia twist with the winner choosing the main ingredient for next round.

I like how they could make anything savoury or sweet, as long as they included the chosen ingredient.

Claudia irritates me. I'm loving the judges though.

Love Claudia. Not sure about the programme. It's missing something for me at the moment.

It'll be better when they have reduced the contestants down.
The two male judges merge in to one for me.

I liked that the cook off was so technical.

Nice Thursday night watch though :)

Q shows signs of an amazing ear ring collection. And has buckets of being at home with herself.
I also loved the technical cook off. Such a simple dish ingredients wise. But skillful in prep. Genius.

I really enjoyed that, I love Claudia and Mary!

Who's Q?

Q has an attitude. She doesn't like Pippa.

.... reminds me of The Apprentice or Big Brother. Perhaps they should sleep in a tent as they are cooking inside a studio.

I enjoyed it. I felt we got closer to the contestants quickly - more so than with GBBO - and I loved the 'ordinariness' of the dishes. Burgers was a fab choice to begin with, though a whole fillet steak is NOT a burger!!!! They didn't really mention the sides though - I wonder what the point is of having 2 sides if you're not going to mention or taste them.

Toby was a bit lucky to escape the cook-off after the non-burger and the dense Swiss roll.

I find Claudia so irritating, all the endless hugging and faux empathy. They're only poaching an egg, it's not as though they will be shot if it goes wrong!

Why were two of the contestants holding hands/hugging almost from the moment they met? I may have missed something, are they related?

It's interesting that they make all of the contestants live in a house together. I will probably watch it again but I wish they would dial down the drama!
