Anyone else excited about this tonight?

I'm cautiously optimistic.

I'll be watching. Keeping my mind open but I'm prepared to be disappointed.

SneakyGremlins · 03/05/2018 18:38

I'll watch anything with Mary Berry!

jay55 · 03/05/2018 19:11

I have jaffa cakes at the ready and am catching up on Aussie MKR to warm up.

Bakingberry · 03/05/2018 20:12

I'm enjoying it so far Smile

LIZS · 03/05/2018 20:13

Love the Claudia / Mary combo

jay55 · 03/05/2018 20:15

It is lovely to see people cooking normal food and not dust and pollen.

troodiedoo · 03/05/2018 20:22

I really fancy a burger now

I'm finding the camera work a bit too choppy, like they are rushing me.

Love Claud and the judges though.

Liking the Masterchef Australia twist with the winner choosing the main ingredient for next round.

millimat · 03/05/2018 20:44

I like how they could make anything savoury or sweet, as long as they included the chosen ingredient.

MrsTommyBanks · 03/05/2018 20:45

Claudia irritates me. I'm loving the judges though.

MrsTommyBanks · 03/05/2018 20:48

I might get a girl crush on Q Blush

Crinkle77 · 03/05/2018 20:52

Love Claudia. Not sure about the programme. It's missing something for me at the moment.

Crinkle77 · 03/05/2018 20:55

I found q bit annoying i am afraid mrstommybanks

jay55 · 03/05/2018 20:57

It'll be better when they have reduced the contestants down.
The two male judges merge in to one for me.

I liked that the cook off was so technical.

SneakyGremlins · 03/05/2018 20:58

I enjoyed that!

troodiedoo · 03/05/2018 21:03

Think you might be right @jay55

Nice Thursday night watch though :)

Q shows signs of an amazing ear ring collection. And has buckets of being at home with herself.
I also loved the technical cook off. Such a simple dish ingredients wise. But skillful in prep. Genius.

Ickyockycocky · 03/05/2018 21:18

I really enjoyed that, I love Claudia and Mary!

millimat · 03/05/2018 21:49

Who's QHmm?

ToadsforJustice · 03/05/2018 21:52

Q has an attitude. She doesn't like Pippa.

ToadsforJustice · 03/05/2018 21:55

.... reminds me of The Apprentice or Big Brother. Perhaps they should sleep in a tent as they are cooking inside a studio.

TwitterQueen1 · 03/05/2018 21:56

I enjoyed it. I felt we got closer to the contestants quickly - more so than with GBBO - and I loved the 'ordinariness' of the dishes. Burgers was a fab choice to begin with, though a whole fillet steak is NOT a burger!!!! They didn't really mention the sides though - I wonder what the point is of having 2 sides if you're not going to mention or taste them.

GnotherGnu · 03/05/2018 22:28

Toby was a bit lucky to escape the cook-off after the non-burger and the dense Swiss roll.

OneInAMillionYou · 04/05/2018 06:28

I find Claudia so irritating, all the endless hugging and faux empathy. They're only poaching an egg, it's not as though they will be shot if it goes wrong!

Why were two of the contestants holding hands/hugging almost from the moment they met? I may have missed something, are they related?

It's interesting that they make all of the contestants live in a house together. I will probably watch it again but I wish they would dial down the drama!
