@SleepingStandingUp, @CurbsideProphet et al - we filled up a Home and Away thread. This is unheard of. So here’s shiny new one - I know there are only a few of us, but keep the faith.

@CurbsideProphet no I haven't watched ore read the spoilers. But it would tie up the previous storyline.
We get to know who killed the parents (the real person behind it).
I thought the reason kat become a target was because she got too involved.

The people shown arresting robbo does look like the previous woman in the police doing the inside job. (For some reason I remember that woman going to jail. Assuming)

SleepingStandingUp · 17/05/2018 18:16

Think other lady was older.

Still holding out hope of my wedded bliss and triplets

Cel982 · 17/05/2018 19:06

A double-murder court case involving multiple identities, police corruption and major underworld criminals, all wrapped up in two days? What an efficient court system the Australians have...

keeponrunning85 · 18/05/2018 08:14

WHY does Colby wear such weird long t-shirts?! And why is his face so smooth?

PeachQueen · 18/05/2018 10:38

Clearly Colby has lost his little sister or a relative hence the angst scenes and the file he has with missing girl stuff in?

He says something to Dean at the caravan park didn't he about 'being able to access files' so must be linked?

Hygge · 18/05/2018 11:29

I was thinking that Colby was looking for an older girl.

From the arguments with Dean about the crashed car that Dean got the blame for, I decided he'd been chasing a girlfriend who was been taken away by her family, possibly pregnant with his baby or something.

Because why wouldn't anybody know about a younger girl being kidnapped or link it to him?

When he turned up in the baby nobody seemed to know him, and Willow seemed to come out of nowhere as well. Nobody knew her at first either.

Yet Willow, Dean and Colby all know each other, and seem to have lived fairly locally as teens.

So this missing child must have been local as well. And if she's his sister or something, you'd expect someone to realise.

Hygge · 18/05/2018 13:28

I don't trust this policeman talking to Robbo. I think he's in on the corrupt policing. I think Robbo is going to trust him, find out he's to blame for it all, and have to punch Ash in the face to sort it out.

SleepingStandingUp · 18/05/2018 13:50

Are the trio from Mangrove River area and never the twain shall meet or something like that. There's certainly address near me where people could grow up in adjacent small towns and NEVER meet until adulthood because you simply don't mix or move or leave much

Fortheloveofscience · 18/05/2018 14:42

It’s not true that Colby had never told anyone before - Dean obviously knew otherwise the ‘keep searching’ comment would have made him Hmm.

I wonder how far in advance they write the storylines. It seems like ages ago that we first heard Kat mention Beckett Reid, but now it’s all tying together - do they actually plan this stuff or just wing it and hope they can tie it up down the line? I’d always assumed the latter because there is so much that never ends up quite making sense but now I’m less sure.

Hygge · 18/05/2018 14:51

Maybe that is true that they were from the Mangrove River, and so hadn't mixed with the Bay before.

But why wouldn't Willow know about Colby's sister?

They seemed to have been best friends when they were younger. You'd think she would know that Colby had a sister, there are missing person posters so she'd know the sister was missing, and surely she'd connect the dots to the timing of the disappearance and the accident.

Or at least think that Ava's disappearance would be hard for Colby now because of memories.

Why doesn't Willow know about his sister?

SleepingStandingUp · 18/05/2018 16:11

Ah I'm behind so I'm with Willow on not knowing much

ChoccyJules · 18/05/2018 16:56

I think they planned the Becket stuff, been a slow burn. Unlike the Roo's Mum thing where we all know Alf had No Idea she was alive until a couple of weeks ago. None. Completely shoehorned in.

CurbsideProphet · 18/05/2018 23:54

The brief appearance of Roo's mum was bizarre and pointless Confused

Do Dean and Willow know about Colby's sister, but not mention her because it's too upsetting for him?

Ava's kidnapper must be related to either the family's previous witness protection? I don't know what it's all about otherwise Grin

The Robbo / Beckett Reid storyline has been one of their long slow burners, like when Martha's boyfriend turned out to be a people smuggler and not just a nice diving instructor.

TheOnlyLivingBoyInNewCross · 19/05/2018 07:25

I really don’t think they know what to do with Roo. She got pregnant by a younger man who wouldn’t support her! then lost the baby and younger man was never seen again...She went to look for Martha! and didn’t find her...She went to look for her mum! Her mum turned up! then went away again...She got knocked over by a car and might have been in pain forever but opted for an experimental treatment which might not work! but it seems to have worked fine and is now never mentioned...

Her stories all trail off into complete pointlessness.

Childrenofthesun · 19/05/2018 07:30

I didn't pay much attention to the Roo's Mum storyline. Did she mention any other children? Maybe they are paving the way for some new half-sibling characters.

Hygge · 19/05/2018 08:39

It's just taken me far longer than necessary to find out the name of the actress who plays Martha (Belinda Giblin).

I thought she looked familiar and I wanted to check what else I might have seen her in, but I just kept getting google results for Roo and Roo's daughter, also both named Martha as a first or middle name.

I was starting to regret the writers commitment to that name for the women in the Stewart family.

Turns out I've seen her on Home and Away before. She played a woman called Cynthia Ross, mother of Hayden and ex-wife of Michael, married to Pippa.

AGnu · 19/05/2018 09:14

I did wonder if Colby's sister wasn't officially "missing" - she moved away suddenly with both her parents. It's not a crime to spontaneously change your whole life, even if that means leaving your son behind. I guess it could make sense for Willow not to know if Colby took off the same night that his family went, so Willow just assumed he was with them & his disappearance wasn't related to Dean's accident. The file could be entirely Colby's doing - he could've spoken to newspapers & got a missing poster made without the police actually investigating. His frustration with the police saying there was nothing they could do could be why he decided to become a cop, to use police resources that no-one would otherwise be using.

SleepingStandingUp · 19/05/2018 19:41

I think they should have left Roo pregnant, It would have been interesting her being a new mum, older mum, new baby in house after Luc leaving and Leah being clucky and jealous. It would have given her some point, she's pointless like Leah but I like her more

ChoccyJules · 19/05/2018 22:09

Whenever I look at Roo I wonder just how she managed such a personality shift from the little bitch she once was...not a hint of that now. I know people grow up but she really changed!

user1andonly · 21/05/2018 11:49

I loved the montage of "How Robbo got his vest" Grin

Hygge · 21/05/2018 11:53

user Grin. That was a wonderful montage. One man and his vest. A love that transcends all others.

CurbsideProphet · 21/05/2018 14:59

Yes it was brilliant Grin

I would have liked a Roo has a baby storyline while everyone else -Leah- tries to butt in.

The clip from tomorrow says that the kidnapper is actually connected to Willow.

SleepingStandingUp · 21/05/2018 15:00

Willow got to know Justin the Rescuer because of trouble she was in with the car etc, maybe its him?

BlackandWhitePostcards · 23/05/2018 19:18

How are the kidnappers mother and son?! They look more like husband and wife, there’s no way she can be old enough to be his mother!

SleepingStandingUp · 23/05/2018 19:40

Weird casting, she's 60, he's 50
