Why indeed does Jack need a live in nanny? In fact you wonder why anyone in the square needs childcare, as work seems to be an optional activity with completely flexible start and finish times. Where’s the reality of leaving the house at 7 in the morning? Still, I guess there’d be even less to talk about if the characters lived ‘real’ lives.... maybe just a nod to a slight bit of realism would be nice though. Simply the fact that these characters live in expanding properties which can accommodate limitless people, in a London borough, always have money for the pub, club, make up, highlights ... yet never seeming to do a real day’s graft... it’s just too far off piste. And then they threw in denises story line where she was visiting the food bank and in danger of malnutrition yet 5 mins later is planning a new life in Dubai... cmon script writers, a bit of middle ground would be good

Did anyone else find the acting in the pub dire when Susie the psychic 🤦🏼‍♀️ was there? Even Mo acting out her knowing about L aunt and L reaction was shockingly wooden.

I felt as though the scriptwriters had been at the mind altering drugs tonight - what is it with Stuart? how did Mick get so drunk so quickly? what was the deal about putting Haley in his bed? what did Stuart mean about taking one for the team when Mick and L first got together?

I think Stuart is seeking revenge on mick,hence getting Hayley in micks bed. Maybe Lynda fancied Stuart back in the day,but he stepped out of the way for mick,or mick was seeing someone else when he was seeing Lynda and Stuart covered up for him. Either way Stuart is a twat

Given that she's a Slater, Hayley must belong to one of the Slater brothers - Charlie, Brian & Harry were all siblings, weren't they? Does that make her Uncle Harry's? If so, it's weird that Kat's fine with her & there's been no mention of her half siblings. Is there another brother we don't know about? A cousin of the brothers? A sister who didn't marry & gave the baby her name?

She reminds me of someone but I can't place who - possibly a RL person, or could be from another soap... I get the 2 confused sometimes!

A brief Google & a quick doodle of a family tree tells me that OK! either know nothing about EastEnders or don't understand family trees - "It's confirmed Hayley is the second cousin of Kat Moon and Big Mo, with Jean Slater being her aunt." - surely that's not possible! How can someone be second cousins with person 1 and their grandmother while simultaneously being the niece of someone who's on the same level of the family tree as person 1?! There's got to be some once-removed stuff going on there!

Frederick & Mary had 3 DC:
Charlie who married Viv, daughter of Mo & had Lynn (Vivienne), Kat (Zoe, Dermot, Tommy, Bert & Ernie), Little Mo (Freddie) & Belinda

Violet mother of Brian (Sean, Stacey, other 2 Ss & Kyle)

This makes Brian cousin of Kat, et al., & Stacey second cousins to Kat's DC. Hayley must, therefore, be DD of: Harry Stacey's cousin-once-removed/Kat's cousin/Zoe & Dermot's half-sister , Violet Stacey's aunt/Kat's cousin, an unmentioned sibling of Brian's Stacey's cousin/Kat's cousin-once-removed, an unmentioned DC of Harry's too complicated for my brain or an unmentioned baby of one of the Slater sisters when young Stacey's second cousin/Kat's niece. Unless Frederick & Mary had another DC we don't yet know about which opens up a whole new branch of the Slater family tree & offers the opportunity for unending arrivals of never-before-mentioned Slaters.

If they wanted to bring in a new character such as Hayley, there were other easier routes to go down i am sure of it.

The ' once removed' stuff in families is confusing, i have a huge family tree myself as my parents were both one of five children and i can remember my dad saying ' thats your cousin, once removed', always made me think of removal vans full of people. Its all ' blood' though and famillyyy , that matters a lot to writers.

As for Stuart, the ' one for the team' comment is strange.
She ( L) was 14 when she started going out with Mick and pregnant very young with Lee, so they are either re writing things or hoping we don't remember the history there with those two. Halfwit is much younger than stuart as well and he made a comment about ' his not my brother' the other week, so more complications i suppose with the carters or something, i wouldnt be surprised. The slaters are hard enough to get your head around.
