We all know that the writers read MN after all. Apparently it’s on at 8.30pm this eve?

@Seniorcitizen1 I was watching it with subtitles on as I was feeding my baby to sleep. She said ' I'll do that thing you like". Grin

It's not just about the money discrepancy about the Jude story that's implausible about his wife not realising he's never been a marine biologist. She'd know by him bringing work home, a paper contract, not wanting to meet up with colleagues, etc.

Just such shit writing. Part of me is glad Tony Warren's no longer around to see his show turn into the crapola it is now.

SymphonyofShadows · 07/04/2018 10:13

It didn't sound like "I'll do that thing you like". It sounded like "I'll give your willy a lick" not that Tracey Barlow would say willy I'd imagine

eddiemairswife · 07/04/2018 10:20

Are we to understand he's never been a marine biologist? Even when they were in South Africa?

My understanding was he WAS a marine biologist in SA. Didnt they have quite a posh house etc over there? But unsurprisingly since moving over he'd been unable to get a similar job and had just taken the gift shop one rather than be unemployed.

Akire · 07/04/2018 10:41

No he said when they met he just said I am a MB and then after that once they fall in love at what point could he say actually I’m not.

Goodness knows how he managed to fake he was earning three time wage or how she never went to his work.

Akire · 07/04/2018 10:42

Mary was good saying tell her you have fallen out of the idea. He could go back to uni or something. Given they live permently rent free! And she is know working for the street

southeastdweller · 07/04/2018 10:43

No, he wasn't a marine biologist. He told Mary he doesn't know anything about that subject.

EB123 · 07/04/2018 11:01

He was never a marine biologist, i am sure a while back Angie said she got pregnant on their third date so i guess he felt trapped? He is so dull, i quite like Angie though, she has had a few funny lines.

TheJunctionBaby · 07/04/2018 11:16

I think David's acting has been great. I really hope he does confide in someone, even more I hope he goes to the police and that Josh gets his commence. I can't bear another dragged out story that never gets resolved

Seniorcitizen1 · 07/04/2018 12:07

pimlico - subtitles often get things wrong - I prefer to believe she had promised to give something a lick

deadringer · 07/04/2018 12:36

Jude's background doesn't make sense to me. He is 33, she got pregnant on their 3rd date, (so they met less than 2 years ago) and they met at uni. Did he pretend he was doing a degree while she was at uni, and if so how old is Angie, she looks about 30. And can someone please explain why I give a shit?😂

scrabbler3 · 07/04/2018 14:10

I've just read Lynne Perrie's memoir which was written about 25 years ago. She's quite gossipy about her days as Ivy. She mentions that the chap who played her husband Don (she disliked him!) was desperate for a big storyline and pitched the idea of Don being a serial killer. He was told by Tony Warren/Bill Podmore(?) that this was ridiculous and not what CS was about. Lynne Perrie agreed that it was a foolish suggestion which would have ruined the vibe of the programme. However, a compromise was found and Don became a stalker, so the actor got his interesting storyline without the show becoming absurd.

MrsSteveMcDonald · 07/04/2018 15:26

I'd give him a lick...

IHaveBrilloHair · 07/04/2018 15:34

Ew no not Steve.
I'd have a shot on Daniel though Grin

Akire · 07/04/2018 15:52

IF they met at uni he still couldn’t be a MB he could have been studydihg something else but most things at UNi surely half decent. Maybe he meant after uni? They can’t have gone to uni at 26 because they been living off savings for past year or so. If they got pregnant in last year of uni say they haven’t had time to actual do any work have they?

Oh how true.

Interesting about her having a memoir, love ones by people like that!

Hygge · 07/04/2018 17:06

I forgot about that Don character, probably on purpose because I don't recall liking him.

He stalked whatshername from the hairdressers didn't he? Daniel's Mum.

JustDanceAddict · 07/04/2018 17:22

That’s ridiculous re Jude & the MB stuff. I just thought he was lying re his job in the shop - ie, he got that as no MB job available. It was like a French farce with Tracey manning the til!!

EdithWeston · 07/04/2018 17:23

Classic Corrie had Don and Ivy's wedding (complete with Jack as Best this week.

AnneEyhtMeyer · 07/04/2018 19:04

I want to read that memoir! Loving Classic Corrie at the minute.

Katyx3 · 07/04/2018 19:13

Bit off topic but il be a first time Mum in July (along with Nicola and Eva) really interested to know what child care services coronation street use as they seem top notch? Grin

Akire · 07/04/2018 19:15

Oh congrats Katy ye I’m sure you find some open dawn till midnight. Including bank holidays and weekends. On low wage? No prob it’s so cheap you can eat out every meal time!

Katyx3 · 07/04/2018 19:40

Think il spend my dinner time in the rovers as well, sure it won't be frowned upon at all! Hmm
