We all know that the writers read MN after all. Apparently it’s on at 8.30pm this eve?

They found his bag and money and passports on the boat so he didn’t have that. Unless he stole a boat from harbour?

runningoutofjuice · 02/04/2018 22:58

Ridiculous. Can't think of any other word to describe what the programme has become. Feel sorry for the actors

LordoftheDarkSettee · 02/04/2018 23:08

Phelan - dead on Good Friday, risen by Easter Monday...omg wasn’t this storyline covered 2000 years ago?

blueskypink · 02/04/2018 23:10

Lordofthedark - crikey I didn't register that!

LordoftheDarkSettee · 02/04/2018 23:22

Next we’ll have Eva giving birth in the ginnell, popping it in a basket and floating it down the canal...only for it to be rescued by Harry and Meghan on a humanitarian trip oop North to smile at poor people —must not give Corrie scriptwriters any ideas—

Akire · 02/04/2018 23:36

I’m suprised coronation street isn’t over run with rubbish and complaints by council tax payers. They all have a serious overcrowding problem. Most house are at least double capacity! All extra rubbish and recycling!

Wonder how long David will keep up how silence? Surely what’s her face will decide to leave if he keeps disappearing being odd and ignoring her?

Maybe Seb can make go of builders now? It was Eileen’s son business so hers to give away? Sophie could be a good builder apprentiship. Anything has be better than shop. Talking of which what happened to the new garage. I knew it got burnt out but surely they would least use space for cars and to work in?

PrincessScarlett · 02/04/2018 23:44

At least Phelan is alive and we have the hope that he will face justice. I think he's got another couple of murders left in him. It doesn't look good for the B&B old dear as Phelan looked irritated by her after a mere few seconds of screen time.

honeyroar · 02/04/2018 23:52

Lordofthedark that's spooky! I hadn't thought of that.

What did the B&B lady say to him that irritated him?

AnneEyhtMeyer · 02/04/2018 23:54

I had given up on Corrie but came back to watch Phelan's demise. I wish I could say it was a surprise that the writers have decided to drag this story out even longer with his miraculous survival.

When he fell in the water I said to the telly "Well Billy survived worse than that" and I was right.

I think we need Tony Soprano to make him pay.

Itsnotanthrax · 03/04/2018 00:02

Did anyone else notice the Phelan lookalike extra walking about in the police on the street scenes?

BettyBooJustDoinTheDoo · 03/04/2018 00:18

Yes I did itsnotanthrax I wonder if they did that on purpose?

Your post on Good Friday "Given that rather pontifical parting speech, I'd give it about three days before he reappears...."

And the reply by Zibbidoo

"I totally missed your 3 days reference and the fact it’s good Friday!!"

were spot on. 10/10 for prescience!!

Absurd that Sophie was intervieeed for that role in a top restaurant with no restaurant experience. Her background in the shop/garage would have got her a waitressing interview perhaps. As if anyone would work anywhere other than the Street, anyway.

Do police detectives really have jurisdiction over volunteers? I get that she's more senior, but would she have the power to suspend him? I'd have thought that detectives were busy enough investigating crimes, without having to manage the special constables too.

kikashi · 03/04/2018 09:26

Love it smeaton Grin

I agree about Sophie - no experience but goes for the manager's job?? What has she done? worked on t'till at Dev's, walked about with a clipboard at her dad's garage and washed windows . Totally qualified to run a celebrity chef's eaterie.

I have a horrible feeling that Aidan will employ Sophie at the factory as his No.2 as Carla doesn't think Aliyah has what it takes (only a fashion and design degree, blackmailing her grandad to get an embroidery machine, dealing with racists and working her a**e off and putting up Aidan at her Nan's to get the business off the ground again).

kikashi · 03/04/2018 09:28

Everyone was laughing when the old Irish lady moved aside with her tray to reveal Phelan. So how did he escape - the water would be freezing - a lucky Oirish fishing boat a passing that picked him up and dropped him ashore, no questions asked?

We also laughed at Eileen's Ididn't knows and handsome lawyer's incredulous looks!

Susiesoap7 · 03/04/2018 09:32

Just love it it's so daft!!

SilenceMeansWhatAreTheyUpTo · 03/04/2018 09:32

Thanks, NiceViper - what with all that melodramatic, demonical ranting on Good Friday, I got the impression that Phelan fancies himself as some kind of Antichrist figure, so wasn't really surprised by his reappearance so soon. He'll be even worse now that he's proved to himself that he's invincible. Hell, he can even sew up his own leg with extremely sore fingers! HmmGrin

Yorkshirebetty · 03/04/2018 09:35

Maybe the landlady's Irish accent is a red herring and he just came ashore in Whitehaven? The police have the boat, the passports and the money, so he can't get far. I'm no fan of Tracey but they were all a bit rude to her in the pub. It was like she was the baddie not Phelan.

SilenceMeansWhatAreTheyUpTo · 03/04/2018 09:55

Did the police say they had found both passports?

Akire · 03/04/2018 10:04

He still blabbed confidential information as a volunteer so not suprised he was suspended. It was his GF not a neighbour and he did help catch Neil so hopefully let him back. We need a copper on the street.

eddiemairswife · 03/04/2018 10:06

What an unpleasant looking couple Faye and Seb are.

Craig is the most unlikely copper imaginable though. I like his mentor, she seems to be a decent actress, would like to see more of her. Maybe sophie could do some sort of admin role at the factory, they must have some clipboards for her to carry whilst walking about.
