Which won't be featuring Europeans in over sized costumes, sadly.

But we have Olly to play the Joker Grin

So- 3 from each team are singing this week, and then, amid much angst (probably) the mentor will have to ditch two. I think.

And then repeat the process next week. Grin

Here the songs they have chosen

TEAM OLLY
Lauren Bannon
Believer by Imagine Dragons

Kade Smith
Express Yourself By Charles Wright

Holly Ellison
Perfect by Ed Sheeran

TEAM WILL
Paige Young
Power by Little Mix

Tai
Jolene by Dolly Parton

Anna Willison-Holt
Master Blaster by Stevie Wonder

TEAM JHUD
Jake Benson
Sun Comes Up by Rudimental Ft James Arthur

Ross Anderson
Torn by James TW Version

Gayatri Nair
This Is Me by Keala Settle (The Greatest Showman)

TEAM TOM
Kalon Rae
California Dreamin - Sia Version

Eliza Gutteridge
Don't Kill My Vibe from Sigrid

Lucy Milburn
Gravity by Sara Bareilles

This week - first the first time in ages I feel ok but I did get out of the school trip I was meant to go on, as I ended up with a migraine on Sunday, that wiped out Mother's day and lasted til Tuesday before I felt properly human again.

And DD2 has broken her wrist, they put a half cast on it yesterday, and rang to day to say she has to go in to have it manipulated under anaesthetic in the morning. Which will be nice.

So it's all go, Chez Raahh!

Oh Raahh you are a LIFE SAVER. I was hoping there would be a thread. So glad you feel better tonight but your poor DD...

The reason for the drama is I'm sooo fed up. DH is away abroad and I had an old friend who I haven't seen for ages coming to stay. The night was all planned, cocktail ingredients in fridge, wine and fizz in fridge, tasty meal all prepared ready to bung in oven, dips, crisps salmon blinis ready to nosh on.... we were going to get bladdered and dance, I've even added to my disco playlist... BUT

She has cancelled because she is worried about the snow what snow. No way was I going to talk her into it because I don't want someone to be here who is worried about her not long drive home tomorrow.
So I was just hoping there would be a thread to waffle on whilst I try and avoid troughing down all the food and drink I've prepared! Thank you!

Raahh · 17/03/2018 18:12

Oh, Rousette that is pants!

We can help you with the food.
I can't promise the singing will be up to much, but that's not really why we're hereGrin

It's been snowing here all day, and sticking a bit. Which is annoying . Because I supposedly live in Manchester, where I am always reliably informed it never snows. Well, it's done too much of it for my liking in the past few weeks . Bit quiet (I live near the airport) so I'm thinking even the planes have been cancelled.

I bet you disco playlist is better than the offering tonight- I'm happy to belt out some Dolly Parton when I've had a few Grin (my sister is a massive fan), but the rest of it is dire!

Thanks Raahh, I am going to pour a drink whilst I ogle the french rugby players on now, so it ain't so bad!

I do think it would've been OK weather wise for her but you know when someone is hesitant and worried the last thing you want to do is pressure them because they wouldn't enjoy themselves. Luckily DH flies home tomorrow so can scoff what's left not much, I even made salted peanut butter cookies to have with a cuppa this afternoon! However, I have made good inroads into those had them for breakfast as they were delish Grin

I shall just have to dance round the kitchen on my own later Grin

Please don't let Jolene be massacred! Only Dolly can do it!

Raahh · 17/03/2018 18:37

Ooh, salted peanut butter cookies sound lush,

I'm useless at baking. Actually, that's not true. I can bake, but haven't done properly for years, and have a very temperamental oven, so no matter what I do things go wrong. We can just about get away with making a banana bread for the the annual school fair trade bake off. Looks a bit like a brick, but it tastes o.k Grin

I'm a savoury person really but golly me, these are really yummy, here is recipe! Foolproof because I am not a baker for sure!

Cary2012 · 17/03/2018 18:50

Evening all, just checking in.
Raahh my DS had same done to broken wrist when he was 10, straightforward and discharged shortly after.
Kylie's on tonight, as is Leona Lewis, Craig David and a few Peas with black eyes.
Am going to have a takeaway, AF red, choccy and am toastie in front of wood burner with Chairman Meow tucking into his crack, aka Dreamies.

NoisyBrain · 17/03/2018 19:23

Evening all. Roussette sorry to hear your plans went awry (I think that's a word!). My DM and DSis bailed on me a few weeks ago when it snowed. It really wasn't much, but DSis is a massive wuss cautious type when it comes to driving.

Raahh I feel your DD's pain. I dislocated and broke my wrist snowboarding a few years ago (I was younger and cooler then haha). The manipulating bit felt slightly weird but it was totally numb so didn't hurt at all.

Roussette · 17/03/2018 19:51

Hi Noisy and thanks... although I was really looking forward to my gf coming, (it's been months planned and I even cleaned the windows today!) it's quite nice having a peaceful night on my own too!

Is anyone watching Sat Night takeaway... Emma Bunton looks gorgeous doesn't she...

Raahh · 17/03/2018 20:06

Cary Noisy -it's reassuring to know it's straightforward.

I broke my wrist when 20 weeks pg with dd1. I wasn't even drinking!! Grin. It was very bad, and I ended up having surgery to put a plate in it, which, as I was pg should have been done with a nerve block. But it didn't work - so, there I was lying in theatre, when they decided to do a general. Grin.

(4 years later I had a similar problem whilst having an elcs with dd2- after she had been delivered, and I was about to have my tubes tied, the spinal wore off- I could feel everything and dh said I went a very funny colourGrin. Needless to say, that ended in a general too Grin).

OP posts:
Roussette · 17/03/2018 20:34

That sounds horrible Raahh. Especially when pg.

Could anyone tells me how it works tonight? Are they knocking out 2 out of 3 with the help of slebs?

What could go wrong lol

Destinysdaughter · 17/03/2018 20:35

Roussette oh that's a bummer! Maybe your friend was freaked out by the last snow storm what ch was pretty awful tbh and didn't want to risk it this time? Anyhow, sliver lining, you're here with us now!

I was also inspired to google a low carb version of your peanut cookies and I found a recipe so thanks for that!

Losing interest in the Voice at this point, but still love this thread!

Raahh · 17/03/2018 20:36

I really wish it involved actual fisticuffs.

But it doesn't .

Raahh · 17/03/2018 20:37

Lauren actually looks like Eastender's Lauren. If you squint.

84CharingCrossRoad · 17/03/2018 20:37

I'm here! I have Pinot Grigio, Wotsits and Chocolate.
Craig David is not a superstar!!!

Raahh · 17/03/2018 20:38

To say that Craig David has been around 20 years is pushing it really. Given his many years in the wilderness.

OP posts:
Raahh · 17/03/2018 20:38

I do not like Lauren. She looks daft rapping.

The80sweregreat · 17/03/2018 20:39

Hello everyone from a snowy Essex. Fed up with snow.
It’s Craig! He never gives up does he?
Mind you, he doesn’t seem to age either.

Destinysdaughter · 17/03/2018 20:39

Craig David has SO had Botox!!

NoisyBrain · 17/03/2018 20:39

84 I can't hear his name without thinking "Craaaaaaig Daaavid" and I didn't even like Bo Selecta.

nancy75 · 17/03/2018 20:40

Evening all, sorry to hear about your rubbish week Raahh & your let down of an evening Roussette I’m sure the high quality singing talent on tv tonight will make up for itHmm
I’ve got some kind of weird headache virus so don’t know if I’ll last the distance tonight

The80sweregreat · 17/03/2018 20:40

I like her dress.

ThePlatypusAlwaysTriumphs · 17/03/2018 20:40

Found you all! I feel really behind this year as I missed a couple of weeks by actually doing things other than lying here watching tv, but back to normal now! Stuffed full, although a bit annoyed I only ate half my curry, went to pick dd up and the bloody dog are the rest! Still, seeing how stuffed I still feel she did me a favour!

Sorry to hear about your messed up plans, rousette, that sounds rubbish Sad
And Raah, glad you're feeling better!

NoisyBrain · 17/03/2018 20:41

The wardrobe people mustn't like her much. I'm seeing a metallic version of the blind my Mum has to keep flies out of the kitchen in the summer

Destinysdaughter · 17/03/2018 20:41

What do we think of her dress? I must admit I rather like it, but prob only cos I wish I had the figure to be able to wear something like that...

Roussette · 17/03/2018 20:41

Destiny yes, and thank you. I think she got it bad last time so just feels nervous but sods law I know it will be OK this time, however no problem with her decision, just a big shame as last time had to be cancelled because I had to go to London on an emergency! Sods law!

This is a bit shouty I think...
