this is a good show acually with some good guitarists but bill is showing himself to be a self righteous arrangant sunuva.....

allieBongo · 07/05/2007 19:33

surely not, he loves all the little birdies and animals....

Saturn74 · 07/05/2007 19:33

he has a reputation as such, I believe.

NotanOtter · 07/05/2007 19:33

Saturn74 · 07/05/2007 19:34

small man, big temper - allegedly!

multitasker · 07/05/2007 19:36

I'd be a little less full of myself if I had an expert like her teaching me - gratitude I think its called

NotanOtter · 07/05/2007 19:37

quite right multi tasker!

I have seen him on several chat shows and he does seem a bit of a nightmare

last week on Wright stuff !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

southeastastra · 07/05/2007 19:39

he comes across as humourless in real life, maybe being a goodie did something to him

MuminBrum · 07/05/2007 19:40

I have always found it rather odd that although Graeme Garden and Tim Brooke-Taylor still work together, you never see them with Bill Oddie ...

NotanOtter · 07/05/2007 19:40

i think he sees himself as some youthful talented rock hero instead of an ageing arrogant twitcher

OP posts:
NotanOtter · 07/05/2007 19:44

he RATES himself

My dh is a guitar teacher and is soooo glad he is not teaching him.

NotanOtter · 07/05/2007 19:51

no wonder!

Haven't seen the programme you are talking about but he is so patronising towards Kate Humble in 'Springwatch'.

I did see him featured on 'Who do you think you are?' which was an eye-opener, but that's no real excuse for his behaviour.

Tamum · 07/05/2007 20:19

I think that's because the other two are lovely blokes, MuminBrum. Agree, he was an arrogant git on this.

brimfull · 07/05/2007 20:21

in the 80's I encountered this odd fellow as I was nursing an aunt of his.He was stupendously arrogant and the drs and nurses talked about him for weeks!

MuminBrum · 07/05/2007 20:28

Tamum, I thought as much - the other two do seem like darlings, don't they?

TwoIfBySea · 07/05/2007 20:39

He was on The Wright Stuff the other day and was so unpleasant, refused to read the papers, which happens at the start of the show. Made the whole programme very uncomfortable and you could tell Matthew was getting fed up.

Why go on a current affairs show if you think current affairs are not worthwhile!

Purposefully missed tonights programme as I do not want to watch him again.

beansprout · 07/05/2007 20:46

I know his dd and she has had a really hard time by him.

Marina · 07/05/2007 20:48

Used to live near him. Not a good neighbour. Adore Tim and Graeme, have never warmed to Bill.

Tamum · 07/05/2007 20:50

MuminBrum, GG has sent ds (a 12 year old Goodies fan) some of the loveliest emails imaginable- he's really taken the time to encourage him. We met both of them at the festival this year and they just couldn't have been nicer to ds. I mean, I know they'd be on their best behaviour then but it was such a hige thing to ds, I was really grateful that they were so kind to him. I just have a feeling he wouldn't have got the same reception from Bill

Tamum · 07/05/2007 20:51

huge...

NotanOtter · 07/05/2007 20:55

god he really is a pompous arse then
whats his background...who do you think you are?
