I'm through to the credits ... sigh. I've found that I can watch the explosion and the scene afterwards, but the letter scene gets me every time. I think the Nepal scenes were necessary to decompress the poor viewers from the Kabul explosion!

I seem to have been sent some Pinterest LP things. Not sure how as I didn't even know I had a Pinterest account. I saw this one and thought it seemed quite odd. Elvis and Smurf?? LP certainly suits the dinner jacket!

Thanks eejit. I will take a gander.

ilove it looks like they're presenting a BAFTA award but I can't think why they're together doing it or what it's for.

eejittwo · 26/04/2018 22:19

ilove he scrubs up seriously well!

Rhubarb01 · 26/04/2018 22:21

The thing about Poldark is that you know it's going to be aired on a Sunday night which is usually pretty safe for drama as people are most likely to be home. Other nights of the week can be a bit patchy I imagine and I suppose that OG will go out on maybe a Tuesday or Wednesday judging by the last two series.

Ilovelblue · 26/04/2018 22:26

As I keep saying eejit, you just would, wouldn't you?

Apparently it was at the 2016 Awards and was for Best 'Live Event'. There you go!

Rhubarb01 · 26/04/2018 22:27

Oh, I was googling at the same time as you eejit Grin

Ilovelblue · 26/04/2018 22:27

No comparison between Elvis and Smurf, just no contest whatsoever.

Do you remember what the BBC TV presenter's first words were, when the credits to ep. 4 began to roll? (I still have my original TV recording)
"Oh noooo, Elvis ...."
Made/makes me laugh, even the first time. They knew where the fangirls were!

Rhubarb01 · 26/04/2018 22:45

Yes, I do remember that Delphin. Funny isn't it. I really wonder what the watching figures will be like for the next series. There was so much new interest in OG from series 2 because of MK and LP. I really wonder if they will be able to attract the same audience as I reckon it is probably more female than male despite the army theme and the attraction was a female in a strong role but also a bit of eye candy.

Ilovelblue · 26/04/2018 22:46

I had never really expected to be an Elvis fan Delphin, it sort of crept up on me. I thought I was a CJ girl through and through! I'd never even heard of him before as I never followed The Musketeers. The friend I was on holiday with last week loved him in The Musketeers but watched my DVD of OG and didn't like it!

Now I'm the other way round ilove. I wasn't that keen on LP in Musketeers - I think I might have mentioned a few dozen times that I'm a team Aramis kinda gal - I much preferred him in OG.

eejittwo · 26/04/2018 22:54

That bedroom scene the morning after the foxtrot before reminds me of the similar scene at the beginning of ep 2 of series 3 of Musketeers, when leather-clad Constance whips the the bedclothes off him ...

Ilovelblue · 26/04/2018 22:58

I think I may have said this last week but despite keeping an eye out for any LP lookalikes in Sicily (since one of his parents is Sicilian), there wasn't one man who even vaguely resembled him. Mind you, there were a number who loved their hair and spent more on hair products than most women!

Rhubarb01 · 26/04/2018 23:04

Actually, the thing that struck me when watching the FOXTROT scene today was at the start when they are snogging they are both wearing so much gear it would have taken ages to take it all off. Does anyone remember that scene from 'In the Line of Fire' when Clint Eastwood's character, an agent on presidential security duty, hooks up with Rene Russo's character who's a fellow agent and they head off to the bedroom but you see a large succession of items being dropped on the floor including guns and radios. I could just Georgie and Elvis doing something similar as they foxtrotted to the bedroom - or what passed for one.

Rhubarb01 · 26/04/2018 23:16

Remembering the last series of Musketeers eejit I have to say that Constance looked like a dominatrix with all that leather gear she kept wearing. I preferred her in the previous two series.

Delphin · 27/04/2018 06:20

@Ilove: "despite keeping an eye out for any LP lookalikes in Sicily"

I meet one every day! There's a young man at work, who looks a lot like Luke Pasqualino. He only has a sharper, narrower nose. In the beginning I was looking at him and thinking "Who does he remind me of?", until it clicked! I don't have any work connections, though, our company is big enough that I don't even know all the faces, not to speak of names ... .

eejittwo · 27/04/2018 07:26

Shame on you, Delphin Grin What about your investigative skills?Grin

eejittwo · 27/04/2018 07:30

Rhu - it may be the possibility of low viewing figures that's pushing it back. They may have seen the error of their ways in killing off Elvis.

eejittwo · 28/04/2018 07:59

PS - the Pinterest photo - notice he's doing the same funny semi-bend as when he was about the 'chuck' Maisie.

Ilovelblue · 28/04/2018 21:51

I saw that eejit - just presumed that it was because he was quite a bit taller than Smurf whatever his name is.

Been helping out at an event today with my disabled gardening group and am totally whacked now. Sitting watching mindless TV this evening (and what trash is on over the weekend).

What is everyone else up to?

OP posts:
Ilovelblue · 28/04/2018 21:52

Rhu, do you know, it's never once occurred to me about all the gear Elvis and Georgie would have to have shed before getting down to business. I was clearly swept away by all the foxtrotting!

Have we decided yet whether I'm going to have to shell out for the pilot on iTunes?
