Kat will never be as good as Pattt Butcher i'm afraid. Pat was a very good actress and made her believable as the 'tart with the heart' sort and her legendary earrings and spats with Peggy Mitchell / marriage to Frank etc.
Kat doesnt even seem to want to be there.

I think they thought Redwater was going to be a runaway success from the reviews I read it was dire K&A are not really serious drama characters are they?

So wouldn't need to go back to eastenders.Jessie Wallace has her heart set on national treasure imo

maybe Mrs jayy, she thought that it would be a lot better received or might have led to other things on TV? she was good as Elsie Tanner about Pat Phoenix's life and i didnt mind her in the 00s when she had big stories etc, but bringing her back without the kids seems odd and she will end up roaming around a bit of a lost cause.
I too, would love to see Bernie ' made over' - Tiff is sweet taking her under her wing as Bex and Louise just made fun of her and made her feel the outsider. Tiff is clearly not like this and its nice to see ( even if Tiff can be annoying !) she has a big heart i think.

Yeah i do like Tiff. Louise seems a bit snidey. Bex is boring.

Kat and Mo don't work in today's EE, their characters are tired and need resting.

Literally love Stacey and kat. On.y started watching it again since I stopped in September, the max and then Aidan storylines were boring me. At least the slaters are fun.

I really like Karen. Was dreading their family at first, but actually she's really good. She looked so much better with her hair down instead of that godawful lopsided bun.

I fucking can't stand Ted. What a manipulative twat! I wish Bernie would tell him to do one and shove a chess piece up his arse. He's soooo moody and hot and cold, and controlling when she doesn't immediately dance to his tune. Vile man.

Jean is cracking me up at the moment. Mo is a twat. Ffs stop trying to steal the money! Kat and Stacey need to tell her to do one. Sharon's makeup is getting worse.

Thing about Ted is he's spotted a talent that Bernie has and is fostering it to the best of his ability. I get the feeling that her life would be a lot better if she had some belief in herself and it seems she could get that from the world of chess. If they could successfully combine Ted's interest in her with Tiff's, she could turn into a confident young woman.

Karen’s hair was great, with a few more waves in it, a wee bit of makeup and some new clothes she would look great, but it won’t happen as all the budget goes on Kat’s fake tan and blusher!

Karen has turned out to be not such a thin and flimsy caricature of a “benefits mum” after all. She really came across as both vulnerable and strong last night - I really like her.

I want Bernie to lose weight and get healthy as part of Tiff’s Magical Makeover. She deserves to come it of her shell and blosso as she’s had a whole pile of shit so far!

Redwater was weird. It was a fairly decent drama with Kat and Alfie shoehorned in. It was exactly as if they’d taken a pre existing drama and added them! The difference between them and the other actors was stark I thought.

They really could do a great number with Bernie and the big make over - show people do not always need to be blond and pretty like Lou to get attention. Tiff can see her potential. Its a shame Ted is so mixed up and weird as he is good for her in his own way.

Karen is great- her reaction at his present and her general attitude was spot on. i didnt think i'd like any of them either at first.
Mitch is just a typical flaky character who doesnt know whose good for him.

I only saw half an episode of Redwater so don't know much but I'm sure in that Kat's makeup was a lot less Kat like?

Yes, she was far more naturally made up I think. Less pantomime dame anyway.
