Do we have/want a thread? I'm super excited, love the Winter Olympics, it's one of those things I end up obsessed with and staying up half the night!

Anybody else?

The snowboarding with tricks was good earlier.

specialsubject · 10/02/2018 20:54

Too much shrieky jabbery talking heads, not enough action. One brief intro will do. Belt up, balding!

Floralnomad · 10/02/2018 21:09

If you want more action and less chat watch on Eurosport , even with the adverts their coverage is far superior .

HarveySchlumpfenburger · 11/02/2018 13:33

Totally agree Floral. Since I can’t watch on iPlayer anymore I’m watching on Eurosport for the first time. It’s a revelation.

specialsubject · 11/02/2018 13:36

Insert money...

Floralnomad · 11/02/2018 13:40

It’s worth the money , Eurosport also does excellent road cycling coverage .

HarveySchlumpfenburger · 11/02/2018 14:38

99p. It wasn’t a lot of money.

Considerably less than the minimum cost of getting a license fee just for 2 weeks of Winter Olympics.

specialsubject · 11/02/2018 17:05

Not via sky satellite - £20 and min contract 18 months!

Floralnomad · 11/02/2018 17:07

Sky sports is worth every penny it costs for me , hours of entertainment watching cricket from around the world .

HarveySchlumpfenburger · 11/02/2018 18:28

And I’d still have to pay the cost of the licence fee with sky.

The Eurosport online/app is either 1yr or pay monthly and they are offering the first month for 99p with a promo code at the moment. I just need to remember to cancel it before the month is up.

I could probably have done the same on the BBC sport website but I couldn’t work out whether it requires a license or not. I’m guessing not otherwise they would make it clear.

ikeameatballsarerank · 11/02/2018 18:32

I'm finding the time difference difficult, I like having it on in the background throughout the day.

Enjoyed the figure skating from today.

specialsubject · 11/02/2018 18:48

Can't find a way to get Eurosport on the telly for 99p. Not so interested as to want to squint at a tablet or laptop. Thanks anyway.

marmitedoughnut · 11/02/2018 19:16

Luge. 80mph on a tea tray. Backwards.

Fuck that!

UnimaginativeUsername · 11/02/2018 19:19

I’m watching on Eurosport player too. We enjoyed the men’s snowboarding slopestyle.

youngnomore · 11/02/2018 19:22

Love watching the Curling late at night. Sends me right off to sleep.

HarveySchlumpfenburger · 11/02/2018 20:19

Rather that than skeleton bob though, marmite

soupforbrains · 11/02/2018 20:20

Anyone watching the figure skating highlights on BBC4 now?

SuperBeagle · 11/02/2018 20:22

Yep.

I work in the snow sports industry (Australia), so know several of the Australia team members.

I've been glued to the TV/laptop at work.

DH is Norwegian, so is, of course, also watching every second.

MistyMeadow · 11/02/2018 20:55

Yes I've just discovered the BBC4 extra coverage on now, fab!

Aargh, just turned over to Four, and it has finished,

soupforbrains · 11/02/2018 21:25

@Petalflowers you could probably get it in the iplayer/catch up.

MistyMeadow · 12/02/2018 09:54

Loving being in the office on my own today, iPad set up next to my computer, women's snowboarding on!

It was quite emotional watching Ireen Wust winning gold in the 1500m speed skating, go Team NL!

Floralnomad · 12/02/2018 14:33

Well I’m happy today with Martin Fourcade winning in the Biathlon , I follow it all winter and he was very disappointing in the first event yesterday .

ToffeeUp · 12/02/2018 14:45

I have just realised that I have only watched womens events so far today, the snowboard slopestyle, biathlon, speedskating and now the ski jumping.
