I got them cheap. Ideal gift for Valentine's Day or Mother's Day.

People using a term to describe themselves is completely different to others doing so. Chav is a word that usually gets short shrift on MN, which is why I was surprised it hadn't been picked up on here.

It's been widespread enough as a description for people considered common for well over a decade now. Didn't always mean that but this is not some new and obscure definition. There is a context of it being used by more middle class people towards those less so. Posters on this thread may not have previously been aware, that's ok but now you are.

As someone from a council estate i dont like it and will firmly reserve my right to not like it, especially when used to describe someone the user clearly feels is trashy. If anyone wants to give her the benefit of the doubt on this also that's their choice.

Drag is supposed to be trollopy that is why some people hate drag and find it insulting to women.

Well if Ann comes out as a radfem then fair enough!

misscockerspaniel · 29/01/2018 15:52

According to CBB twitter, Amanda and Shane J have been nominated.

LloydColeandtheCoconuts · 29/01/2018 15:57

Just the two of them! Shock Surely Shane J’s off? I wonder who voted for Amanda Hmm

MrsJayy · 29/01/2018 16:00

Oo wonder who nominated will there be nominations tonight ?

RavenclawRealist · 29/01/2018 16:12

I don't think Shane j is going anywhere im afraid he still seems to have lots of support! I think the only hope of him not winning is allowing him to carry on showing him self up then there is still time but I can't see him out tomorrow no matter who he is up against!

PramWanker · 29/01/2018 16:16

On checking twitter, it doesn't say it's just those two. They mentioned Amanda being nominated first, then Shane a couple of hours later. There could be others?

Shane is 10/11 favourite with the bookies at the moment and Amanda only 20-1, so I'm inclined to think out of the two of them she'd be the one to go. I honestly think the only one who can beat him is Ann.

picklemepopcorn · 29/01/2018 16:21

Maybe Shane nominated her! He won't have liked her ticking him off.

picklemepopcorn · 29/01/2018 16:22

Honestly, this homophobic nonsense about a woman who chooses to spend time with Craig Revelhorwood, among others, is ridiculous.

misscockerspaniel · 29/01/2018 16:23

I would be surprised if it is only those two who have been nominated. If they can each nominate two others, then I think that Shane J and possibly Malika, would have voted for Amanda and Ann.

I haven't watched CBB before this series. Is it normal for them to get two choices each?

MrsJayy · 29/01/2018 16:25

Yes they get 2 nominations each

EnriqueTheRingBearingLizard · 29/01/2018 16:27

Shane J's nomination was announced last night I think and then this from Tellymix today.

Channel 5 confirmed earlier that housemates nominated yesterday (Sunday) for what is likely to have been the final time this series.

And now Big Brother has revealed the latest result, announcing that Amanda Barrie is up for the axe.

She joins the previously announced Shane Jenek / Courtney Act, who will once again be up for the vote.

The full nominations and results will be revealed in tonight's (Monday) highlights at 9PM on Channel 5.

Those up for the axe will face the public poll and the ones with the fewest votes will go in Tuesday night's live show.

It's not been confirmed how many will leave but the live episode has been extended by 30 minutes, suggesting at least a double eviction.

Tonight on BOTS Andrew. Daniel and Jonny appear and so does Judy James.

EnriqueTheRingBearingLizard · 29/01/2018 16:29

Misscs yes in normal nominations. Sometimes people win immunity and sometimes they either lose the power to nominate as a punishment for something, or, as in this series, certain people win the right to nominate and losers can't, but it is two votes per contestant.

PramWanker · 29/01/2018 16:32

Amanda and Shane probably voted for each other. I reckon him and Malika probably voted for Amanda and Ann. Then Wayne and Amanda probably voted for Shane after last night's events.

If it's a double eviction tomorrow I'm thinking there'll be at least one more up. They won't want to lose either Shane J if they can avoid it. Otoh, the other person up would probably be Ann since she's likely to get two noms, and they won't want to lose her either.

futuristic1 · 29/01/2018 16:38

Triple eviction tomorrow apparently
www.radiotimes.com/news/tv/2018-01-29/theres-yet-another-triple-eviction-on-celebrity-big-brother-tomorrow/

Ann might have several close gay friends - including Craig Revel Horwood from her Strictly days - And she admitted if Horwood ever married a man, she wouldn't attend.

She never voted in favour of gay rights reforms during her 23 years in parliament.
She voted against an equal age of consent for gay people as for straight people and voted against same-sex adoptions.
Ann also voted against civil partnerships and the Equality Act .

DEATH PENALTY
Ann has given her support for the re-introduction of the death penalty as a good "deterrent" for wrong-doers.
In 2016, she praised the death penalty because it "saves innocent lives", in the Guardian .

futuristic1 · 29/01/2018 16:43

Corellation between Brexit voters and Ann Widdecombe supporters?

‘I will not be quiet!’ Remainers made a MISTAKE not voting for Brexit, says Ann Widdecombe

ANN WIDDECOMBE hit out at Remainers living in cities, saying they did not understand the impact of being ruled by the European Union (EU) like people in rural areas do.

therealposieparker · 29/01/2018 16:48

OH no. If Amanda wins I win £450!!

RavenclawRealist · 29/01/2018 16:54

I don't think it will be just 2 I think Anne Wayne will also be up probably at least one more the vote will be pretty split now I think!

futuristic1 · 29/01/2018 17:06

The Conservative MP on her faith and the message of her Channel 4 documentary Moses and the Law, part of The Bible: a History series.

She says, too, that during all of her research, writing and making the film, “Nothing altered either my beliefs or my opinions.” There is not a scintilla of doubt in Mrs Redoubtable. When I suggest that a society following the Ten Commandments would have to hold that all other religions are wrong: “Of course it implies they’re wrong. If all religions were equally right you wouldn’t make any choice between them at all.”

Doesn’t that encourage religious intolerance? “No it doesn’t. I think they [other religions] are wrong. If you tell me you’re a socialist, I will think you wrong. That doesn’t mean I will prohibit you from proclaiming your socialism. But I will still say you are wrong.

EnriqueTheRingBearingLizard · 29/01/2018 17:11

In the last round of nominations it was Ann, Amanda and Ashley who nominated Shane J, but of course that time the men didn't get a say and this time Shane L, Shane J and Wayne all got to add their nominations.
Last time Shane L voted for Ashley and Wayne, Shane J for Jonny and Ginuwine and Wayne for Ann and Daniel.

EnriqueTheRingBearingLizard · 29/01/2018 17:19

Tonight on #CBB: the housemates turn over a new leaf and it's party time as Ann and @ amandabarrie11 heat things up in the hot tub! Don't miss it. Shock

therealposieparker · 29/01/2018 17:27

I had JV's at my door today, but nice women.... utterly bonkers nonetheless

UnFuckingAcceptable · 29/01/2018 17:29

Just dipping my toe in to say I'm nodding furiously while reading your posts Pramwanker.

I haven't the balls to comment too much regarding Ann because like Shane J and futuristic1 I find her political stance abhorrent.

I can't see the fluffy, sweet old lady who stands firm side as anything to respect because I feel that her views are damaging and hurtful.
Not going to bang on though because I'm a sensitive sod and if I had numerous PWB posters wanting me to go post on AIBU instead or make my own CBB thread I'd likely change my username and become a lurker for a few months Blush

ducksake · 29/01/2018 17:49

quai Shane L is married to a backing singer iirc, think westlife? She's dd's mum.

Blush slightly stalkerish, I know Blush
